I need a hard-mode mod where you fight off an invasion. Can someone recommend one?
Ideally it'd be vaguely like Oblivion (which I realized after thinking about it a while):
- More monsters, which actively seek-and-destroy you.
- More monster SPAWNERS, which are continually added over time.
- Scarier spawners added as a zone gets worse. Start with zombies, and before you know it there's endermen taking apart your house and giant floating squids. If you keep the zombie spawners clear, you can keep them from showing up.
- Maybe a ridiculously hostile Nether that you can invade to purify a real-world location? Or even multiple levels? Like, reduce the real-world danger level below a certain point to gain access to an altar in the nether, smash the altars in part of the nether to gain access to an even worse hell where you can keep the altars in that region from respawning...
Yeah, I'd like a game where (in SSP or SMP) you have to actively work to fight off an encroaching evil, it'll kick your ass in a few nights if you don't leave it alone, and until you reach some kind of win condition, you can NEVER have true safety. Imagine a zombie spawner rezzing in your house.
Oh yeah and I want a harder digging mod. Make things take 8x as long to mine, and it would be a lot more fun to me, since I enjoy the game a lot more when I have to dredge through existing caverns for loot instead of doing exploratory mining. It's more challenging and constantly exciting. And maybe a smaller-inventory mod too, so I have a /reason/ to build mine carts. 16 inventory squares should be quite enough thank you. Maybe it would be better as a limit on total mass though, so that picking a red and a brown mushroom won't keep me from hauling back 128 units of iron.
