Doesn't the Mystcraft book stand come standard with the mod?

Crop-Matron seems to have a 9x9x3 area - that is, the tile of the machine + 4 tiles to either side, plus one tile up and one tile down.

Unfortunately there just seems to be no info on crops, and no way to obtain it either.  For instance, "air quality" is a factor, but there's absolutely no way to even guess what it does, or how to measure it, or anything.

I think I'm just going to get a crop matron and strong-arm my way towards hops, iron-plant, and maybe something like the gold-plant or the redstone-plant.  Once I get those, I'll just sort of wing it and do crossbreeding in spare time to see if I can't improve the stats.  Also worth checking if the RedPower's machine-thing can't harvest crop tiles automatically.  If so, then I might have an automated booze farm.  Hopefully, complete with timer to tell me when it's properly aged and ready to be consumed.

Everything You Need To Know. It answered a lot of my questions. Hopefully it does the same with yours.

How would I lift an area out of one save and put it into another? Is there a utility for that?

I managed to look into Mystcraft.  I'm going to say "no" that Thaumcraft rune portals don't transport you across worlds.  This is because the world change incurs a loading screen, and that's a bit beyond normal capacity.  To the same degree, it's likely that runic portals don't transport you to distance chunks, unless you've placed a chunk anchor of some kind (Railcraft and Thaumcraft both have anchors).

I started toying with Mystcraft.  Found a world of tiny forests of perpetual night.  It was interesting, very serene.  Next was a world of massive biomes, desert, constant rain, and perpetual noon.  This one had a lot of oil, and several Thaumcraft obelisks.  After that was an endless prairie in mid-day, and then an ocean in mid-day.  The final book I attempted resulted in a crash, so I assume that it was a pretty amazing world.  It took my inventory with it, including a bunch of resources I really liked.  Ragequit, new world.  I know what many technic mods do now, so this will be a "real" world.

How do you create custom worlds in Mystcraft?  I collected a few symbols, but couldn't figure out any writing ability.

Also worth noting: Thaumcraft runes work well with IC2 agriculture.  The IC2 crops are annoying because you can't walk over them, even sneaking will cause them to break pretty quickly.  So I set up some crops along a wall, and then a Thaumcraft rune of air-evil-evil, which will suck in nearby items and deposit them into a chest.  Turns out to be pretty great.  Next I'm gonna try doing a wheat farm with runes, but I'm not entirely sure the setup I want to use.  It really depends on if the "tills soil" and "hydrates soil" runes work by line of sight, or by proximity.  They're probably LOS, so I'd have them suspended from the ceiling above the crops.  I'll have to see if they can't be attached to lamps, because it'd be pretty fun to have the whole thing inside and use artificial lighting.

To custom gen worlds, place the book in its slot on the writing bench and click on the symbols that you want to add.

If you want to just make a world like you want without creating a bunch of worlds the creative mode notebook has all symbols in it.

Any realistic, or semi-realistic mods out there, besides terrafirmacraft? Currently looking for one and not having much luck, sadly.

Fuck it I was making a huge rant on people suggesting incredibly bad ideas because of Realism and how striving for that idea is inherently silly but nobody wants to hear that crap.

Terrafirmacraft is the only mod I know of that full on departs from Minecraft vanilla gameplay/content to provide the experience it wants to make. There are probably other mods out there that have the term 'realistic' in them, but they generally still run under vanilla Minecraft stuff like punching trees and moving enough stone to build Texas.

Minecraft, even when heavily modded does not provide a good platform for realism as its base unit is a cube. Now that aside cave in mechanics would be cool but you would have to do something so either only cave in free caves genned to prevent immense lag when one is genned or make it so natural stuff doesn't cave and only player placed blocks of the type are affected or as I like to call it the "screw you player" model because every time the generator makes a floating island (some of) the player will hate you for it.

So I've watched Direwolf's video and read the post on the forum, but I can't figure out how to make linkbook stands, and dropping my books every time I want to visit a new world is really annoying me. How do I make the stands?
