You proceed to walk some more. What the hell, it's not like there's anything to talk about, right? Featureless caverns are featureless. Maybe they were a mine once, but anything that might have been in the immediate vicinity has been picked clean long ago. Wait... what is that sound in the distance?
Tara stops for a moment, pressing her ear to the wall. "Sounds like... water. Flowing water. A refill of water could be nice... but chances are, I'm not the only thing that's thirsty. Be on your guard."
Naturally, you don't take it THAT seriously, although you go through the motions of actually paying attention. She thinks far more highly of the dangers brought by water, evidently.
As you continue on in varying levels of cautiousness, the sound grows louder and louder and louder. Tara raises an eyebrow, noting, "That's a lot of water...."
Her concerns are answered when the tunnel abruptly opens up into a large, open cavern. A rather imposing river flows right across the middle. It's not the cleanest water, but it's certainly good enough for the many mushrooms growing on the banks, many of them lending an eerie glow to the cavern. The light also illuminates a small wooden bridge now just underneath the surface of the water. It would seem the river wasn't always this big.
"Looks like we'll have- oh dear god, what IS that?!?"
You blink, drawing your sword in alarm, and turn towards the thing that Tara is staring at... and yeah, you see why she's staring.
((NEXT UPDATE! SUSPENSE, MWHAHAHA!
