Welcome To The City
« on: March 28, 2012, 01:35:18 pm »

The boat groans as it sails away. One of those huge metal ones, no real personality or likability. You look at your fake ID, embossed with your name and your photo. Maybe people won't notice the correction ink or the misspellings. Well, today you begin again. In this city. The docks aren't a great place to start out and begin again, but you doubt you are going to go in through the airport. Your history is behind you, but you have nothing, currently. You are wearing combat trousers, black boots and a coat. It is pouring rain.

Your history is behind you, now... but it is still there.

Name: L
Appearance: Trench-coat, Black Boots, Combat Trousers, Black Brimmed Hat
History: Not to many people know about you. Your history, your influence, hell even your gender remains a mystery to the outside world. Why did you come here? Well, the war was going that badly at first. You and your squad were trained to be the most lethal spy force in the country. You could quickly kill someone with a shoelace in 36 ways. But then the Klavs started getting aid, and with it they built drones and artillery. After your village was shelled, your entire extended family gone in the blink of an eye, you left. The Klavs won the war. Now, the only option is to start over here, in the city.....

Your name is Jason Rico, also known as L. You weren't exactly remembered well. This was a good thing. You were the best of the best, special forces of the Cando forces. You were trained to kill, and that's what you did. Sometimes you wonder if it was worth it. You still have nightmares. Those fucking cultists really gave you a run for your money, and you ended up in a mental hospital for months. That's when the war ended, and the Klavs won. You fled the country during the mass executions, the burnings. You went on the boat, and hid. After several weeks of stealing and bluffing, you are now here.

You are wearing a trenchcoat, black boots, combat trousers and a black brimmed leather hat. You have fifteen rubles (2 dollars) and hope. What shall you do?

Suddenly, you understand.

Within yourself, a light flicks on. Formerly, you were filled with a murky substance, obscuring your true self. Now you know it. You can see now. The light illuminates your darkest fears, your highest hopes, your true personality... And you realize. The Klavs killed children, but you burned villages. Were you really so different? You stare a mile-long stare, and finally come to rest. It is all in the past, now. You are here.

You are now a psychic. At the moment, you can read minds, lift objects and transform yourself minorly with some effort, but you will improve with skill and effort. Every path is open at the moment, and it won't be easy in the future to change your path. At the moment, you are at an impasse. But for now, you must decide what to do.

You walk around the docks. It appears the word going around is that there is a new drug on the street that enhances your thought, your speed and your strength. It doesn't seem to have any drawbacks, but it's only been on the street for a few weeks. Also in the news, it appears that Simple Genetic Solutions Inc has more control over the city then the actual government. It appears that this city has a serious problem with crime and urban decay, with about 30% abandoned buildings total. They started their building initiative at the exact time of the economic collapse, and now the civil service is entirely without funding. The police have a serious lack of police on the beat, with corpses in what would be considered open areas going unnoticed for weeks. I also appears that people keep going missing for some reason or another...

In other news, you just arrived at the worst place in America, and you don't have enough money to leave. This is going to be a long and tough fight.

See if we can find out where those abandoned buildings are. if we can find a place for shelter, we can start inking out a living. Also, we need to find out what place might be hireing workers around here. Local fishing buisnesses that might need help selling fish. Or we could try to do things Get Backer's style. A small recovery buisness appering over night will atract some attention quite quickly, both good and bad. We shouldnt need much either. Large wooden board, a hammer, a screw, a chissle or sharp rock or marker of some kind, and a building that we claimed squaters rights in.

No, it will cause to much ruckus. That's not something you want when you've only been in a country for a few hours.
