Right, you are just plain tired of this.

"Okay, what? First it turns out that this city is such a hole in the ground it's practically the mantle of the Earth, and now it turns out a company is running this city like 1984. What? How did no-one even inform me of this?"

"Sir, we are simply protecting you."

"But you aren't doing anything! You are just pretending to, so you don't end up being taken down! You are arresting people trying to make a stand against corporate control!"

"I have my cursor over the "Disappear" button on your file. Would you like me to press it?"

Take a stand, be threatened to be killed. This is the Land of The Free. How did no-one tell you this happened in America?

"Fine. I'll take a P90. Armor piercing rounds if you give 'em."

After hanging up, consider a means of psychic distortion to avoid camera detection.

Also, take the time to improve the security of your room. Set up a simple trap/doorbell, reinforce the door, definitely fix up the window a bit, etc. You don't know if they're still going to come after you.

"FNP90, armor piercing rounds... We can do that. Have a nice day, sir." The phone hangs up. You put it back on the payphone. Okay, this is a terrible breach of your privacy. You attempt to disrupt yourself from cameras. You feel yourself be a vague blur. You are featureless in the cameras eyes, almost a glitch. You were definitely there, but who are you? You walk back to the apartment, free of fear. In front of the main door is an unmarked box. Opening it, you find a P90 with one loaded clip and another spare. Man, do they just give these out? No wonder this city is a wreck. You go up to your apartment and attempt to set up a trap on the door. You manage to find some broken glass, and that's it. You put it in front of the door. Sighing, you reinforce the doors and the windows. Thanks to your experience in the military, these windows will be able to take a ton of bullets and still hold up, and the door could take a battering ram.

You get a vague sense of being watched.

You look out the window. No-one is outside. You scan every inch of the burnt-out apartment for anything. Looks like there isn't anything... You stand up, and look at the door. It's open, and a tall black humanoid stares at you. You stare at him, he stares at you. You have one minute to react. He looks at you with purple eyes, and is obviously inhuman. You aren't sure if he's friendly or not. He must have opened the door while you were checking around. Your gun is within reach, but he could get the drop on you while you grab it. You could jump out the window, but that has a lot of risk and you would be abandoning the apartment. He looks skeletal, but fast.

Endermen in America? Ah well. Just take the lead pipe/lumber and hit him so that you can distract him, but see if he's going to be hostile.

Yeah... Enderman is a good name. It just works, for some reason. Wonder why something like this is in America. Oh yes, because America is a shithole beyond sanity. You take out the scrapwood and attack. You smack it and leave yourself wide open for an attack. It suddenly teleports behind you, grabs you, then you are being held out the window. You smack it, causing it to fall out the window. As it falls, you barely manage to grab onto the window ledge. It rips off a section of your trousers, but fails to hold on. It falls down, and collapses onto the ground. It explodes in a puff of purple glow.

...

Why do these things always happen to you?

Absorb its power with your psychic abilities before it ascends/descends to its final reward

You manage to absorb the glow into your breath. You blink. Suddenly, you are on the roof. Another blink. You are back in the apartment again. You blink. You are suddenly outside the apartment building. You blink. You are suddenly on the top of a skyscraper, overlooking the city. You blink. You are suddenly on the moon, watching the Earth drift, silhouetted by the bright sun. You can't... breath... You... Blink. You are back in the apartment. You collapse on the floor. You feel yourself lifting up. You are somehow floating in the air by sheer force of will. You fall onto the ground.

You have learned the skills levitation and teleportation. Anywhere further then fifteen meters needs you to concentrate, and levitation is free all round.
