Article at Gamespy

Saw this on Gamespy today. Not a lot of information about the game, but it's got a style that's already got my interest piqued.

Here's a trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Xtt0ZezljHk

And a demo you can play on Kongregate: http://www.lonesurvivor.co.uk/demo.html

About the game:

Quote
The masked protagonist must escape from a city ravaged by disease, by any means. Starving and exhausted, he's begun to question if what he sees is real.

A new kind of adventure where the choice of how to survive is up to you. Sneak through without firing a single shot, or kill everything in your path. Eat and sleep well, or resort to drugs to keep going. Search for survivors or try to escape the city alone. Look after your mental health, or descend into madness....

You have to buy it straight from their website, for $10 or the First Aid Edition which is $50

That grin on the mask is absolutely hilarious. It looks pretty neat though, I hope you can hallucinate and see "enemies everywhere!"

I bought it. it really scratches my silent hill itch without being too hard to control or figure out whats going on.

I'm going to assume that the blue pills are bad... dont think thats gonna stop me from taking them though. Finally got something other than crackers and cheese slices, I think my character was dieing of cholesterol intake.

Ok so I got my first ending today. Apparently I suck as I got an F- in mental health and a rating of X on the blue path. Also looking at the check list further in the end game mental health report, I am a... horrible horrible person.

so is anyone else playing this game? its really good!

So I finally got around to buying this. It's pretty much Silent Hill with a higher emphasis on your mental state and survival aspects like eating, sleeping and not letting your curiosity get the better of you.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I did sometimes find myself wishing Silent Hill 2 wasn't so restrained when it came to delivering the weirdness. (Can't be Pyramid Head Day everyday, I guess.) Being a $10 game instead of a mindfuck-opera, LS cuts to the chase quicker.

Seems like this'll be good for those nights where you really feel like messing with your own head.

Although I think I found a bug. I tried giving a doll to Chie and my dude went to stand next to her....but now I can't move or interact or open my inventory or anything. My game is still running, I can fool with the optional commands like gamma and stuff, but I seem stuck in all other ways.

yeah i hit that bug too, i think it might have happened because of spending too much time talking to people in that scene but i could be quite wrong.

Yeah I've put in about 4-5 hours now and currently in the basement of the apartment.  The biggest problem I'm having is, well, surviving.  I seem to be dreadfully low on food and ammo.

I'm not sure, but it seems like if you take a blue or green pill then goto sleep, you get some weird cutscene and some type of helpful item is given to you.

Trading bullets in to the director for flares was helpful for the basement.

It's a pretty fun game, and does seem to satisfy that silent hill itch.  Currently Day Z mod for ARMAII is also filling that void.  It's funny, since that mod came out over a week ago, people have been buying ARMAII:Combined OPs like crazy.  Yesterday it got up to #3 top sales on STEAM.  Not bad for a game thats 2-3 years old.

I think the conflict between basically getting free items through drug use, and your final ending mental health score lies at the core of gameplay.

Yeah, I have a feeling I will be doing another playthrough after learning where things are and where to go.  I will be interesting to see the ending score, then trying to improve it by being more efficient.
