I simply mod out skill rust, because I find it to be an defunening mechanic.

My dwarves needs their skillz to pay the billz.

I remove cave adaptation so I can meet the enemy in the wide open forests and grasslands they love so much. NO-ONE WILLE ESCAPE DUE TO NAUSEA. I also add a few weapons to thier entity file and up thier age to 500:650, and skill rust so my soldiers are always able to control-alt-delete them gobbos.

Outside that, nothing.

They will butcher and eat sentient beings, torture sentient beings, make sentient being totems, etc.

Removed cave adaptation.

That's it for now.

I add several items of clothing and armor, several toys, and other fairly useless things to their entity file, so they're not the same in every civilization. Sometimes my dwarfs have togas and kilts, sometimes they have buffcoats and trousers, I can never be sure before the first embark with each civilization.

I also change the entity file to include more metals and alloys as coinage. My dwarven civs have platinum, electrum, billon, bronze, nickel, and cupronickel coins in addition to the standard gold, silver, and copper. Not that this has mattered much lately.

Well i do like to play fortress mode with speed, because i find it annoying sometimes when they need years and years to do menial tasks.

I mod out attribute rust else they don't gain any attributes at all (and they become überdwarves like in 40d), as well as making them eat sentient flesh, and maybe up the maxage a bit. I also mod the names so they have cooler ones.

Other than this, nothing.

become adult at age 8. Having dozens of children loafing around for 11 years is inviting tantrum spirals. So is having them around for 7, but at least they get some work done before the inevitable fps death.

Is this moddable post-creation?

Yup. Takes effect the following season if I recall correctly.

Nail and nerve templates get a healing rate.

The entity file gets caves instead of detailed caves as the default site type. Makes it possible to visit dwarven civs in adventure mode, sort of.

Also, blowguns and a bunch of useless flavor clothing.

I don't always mod my dwarves, but when I do...

They have [SPEED:0], [NOFEAR], [NOSTUN], [NOEAT], [NOSLEEP], [NONAUSIA], no organs, and slade skin. They also explode when they die.

About 3 ranks in innate Student skill, optionally also with 1 rank in wrestling and 1 rank in architecture if I can't be bothered to make sure all my soldiers won't get hit by that "didn't like the draft/undraft" thought. Back in DF2010, 2 ranks in swimming were also added.

Ethics allowing eating and decorating with sentient corpses.

Children becoming adults at age 3. I might change this on my next fort so I don't get babies at all and children last to age 5.

Remove punching, kicking and biting from dwarves so they never waste time teaching those in demonstrations.

I think that's it. After trying out a human mod I may miss the extra agility they have but it's part of being a dwarf to be a bit slower than average.
