The guinea pig feebly munches on the grass.

'Tastes like oak pulp. Effect is Health.

It feels slightly better now.

The Basilisk Herb is fed to the pig. It takes a bite.

It is turned to stone.

Eri made another note on the desk, picking up the guinea pig statue and using it as a paper weight.

"Next!"

Action: Test a Frawda flower and a White spotted mushroom, on different guinea pigs!

The guinea pig that was fed the Frawda flower eye's glaze over. It mumbles, 'Tastes like candy, effect is aphrodisiac...', then promptly scampers off and starts humping a random object.

The white-spotted mushroom is fed to another pig.

It squeaks, 'Tastes like beef, effect is health! But I am ouch.' The guinea pig looks more feeble.



In case you're wondering, herbs with effects like 'Health -2' are the same as 'Poison +2', except they cancel each other out.

Concoct a potion of (1) Snowberry and (1) Longland Grass.

Kyrby appears through the front door. He is completely unaware of everyone else until he is literally behind the couunter, when reality snaps back to him.

"Oh, hi." He says, knocking a stray hair from his face. "You haven't seen the owner, by any chance...? The name's Kyrby, by the way. Alexander Kyrby. Forager in training." He offers his hand to Eri. After a quick shake, Kyrby put on a pair of glasses, picked up a quill and started making notes. Eventually, he notices the petrified test subject, and cringes.

"Mein Gott... that is one potet herb. I'm seeing a market for this. Instant Statue Elixir. I'm going to find more!" And with that, the socially inept forager left to the wild.

More gathering! Preferably basilisk.

Norathra's brewing stand gently bubbles as she turns up the flames. In one tube, the snowberry branch is dropped. On another tube, a bunch of longland grass is placed. After waiting for the two herbs to be boiled into the water, Norathra slowly twists the central knob, dropping drop by drop of both herb waters into the center bottle.

One bottle of clear potion is made!



Kyrby combs the swaying fields of grass for the elusive special herb. He finds [11] each of [6] herbs, [3] of which are existing ones.

He finds 11 Frawda flowers, 11 Snowberries, and 11 white-spotted red mushrooms.  You discover 11 Hero's blood herb, 11 Rambleweed herbs, and 11 Weeping herbs. Finally, by sheer luck, you discover a single Basilisk herb. Perhaps you should discover where the Basilisk herb grows...



Eri threw water, snowberries, spotted mushroom, and Soelta flower leaves into a pot and simmered it for a couple hours.
She creates one bottle of rose-scented navy potion. It smells suspiciously good for a poison...



Another note : Each potion's power is decided by adding up all the components, then rolling a d20 for randomness. 1~9 is weakening, 11~20 is empowering.

The guinea pig that was fed the rose-scented potion throws up, but is otherwise fine.

The rose-scented potion has an effect of Poison 0.

The clear potion makes the guinea pig feel better!

The clear potion has an effect of Health 1.3.



Kyrby pores over the musty books in the local mage's library, paying one gold coin for the privilege. [3,6,1] = (0+4-2) = 2.

You learn that basilisk herbs can be found in old, dangerous dungeons, bought for six gold coins a half dozen, or cultivated in salamander's dung.
