Humans give help, elves avenge, and goblins ignore.

Dwarves slaughter.

Have her fall off a cliff so we may feast on her body.

This dwarf's life is an affront to Armok

Oh really ? I think if her life was an affront to his mightiness, Armok would NOT have permitted her to live for a thousand years, nor would she have survived the cave-in.

I take her continued survival as a favor of the mighty Blood God.

Since when does a Blood God favour something by keeping it alive?

The greatest honour a dwarf can hope for is to die a gruesome, bloody death in battle, exsanguinating many foes in Armok's name.

Of course ! And that's exactly why he does not want her to die of thirst in a stupid cave-in ! Her final fate is in battle !

Armok, as a blood god, wants his creations to spill blood. Cave-ins do not spill blood, nor do dying of . It is therefore an unworthy death, and we should heal her, put her in the military and kill elves and goblins. And if she gets killed, she gets an iron sarcophagi and a tomb, as worthy of a warrior.

I'm afraid Naryar, that I will have no reign over her destiny for a year. She could die in any of the succeeding fortresses.

Also, she's already healed. Been that way for a week. What follows will be her choosing whether or not she lives, or dies.

1. Make a massive pit.
2. Make a massive, long bridge connecting the pit from two sides.
3. Set the victim to do something on the opposite side (of which the victim is standing).
4. Get another dwarf to pull a lever connected to the bridge, while victim is crossing.
???
PROFIT!?

EDIT: Wait... she's the only dorf left?

To become wounded in a cave in is to show weakness, and Armok does not suffer weakness.

Need I say more?

Three levers. She will at most, pull two and live. Splendid!

Just found this thread (thanks to your post in TinyPirate's DF Anecdote Illustrated thread, Loud Whispers), and read through it... I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed by the large quantity of very elven votes... Epic thread an problem, btw. Wish you'd had more time on it.

...
The Dwarf Fortress I know and love is not one in which any dwarf will have to stand in front of some "Life Panel" so that some bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "worthiness of dying" that they should continue living as opposed to meeting their premature, grizzly demise as Armok intends. Such a system is downright evil.
...
Also, this is perfect - very well said. Bravo, KodKod, bravo.

Wish you'd had more time on it.
I do too, there wasn't even any time to record her adventures! Alas.

Three Now two  levers, both connected to the same supports.

One where the surviving Dwarfs will stand.
(the support will collapse, dropping the wall, smashing through the floors and destabilizing the entire structure).

The other will drop a lead piano on some merchants.

The difference is, one of the levers will also be in the collapse zone of aforementioned death traps, both will be set to pull. The quickest thing I could get up with what I have, especially after a devastating crash. Ouch.

The promised migrant drop pod

Choosing between two options? Bah, I want a third option! Do dwarves, who are in a falling state at the moment a game is saved, still enter that bizarre Twilight Zone stasis where they never die and never finish falling?

If so, I vote we subject them to that.

Otherwise, I'll have to come up with some other ridiculous state of undeath to satisfy my... wait. You said you don't have any vampires, but do you have any Necromancers?

Their lives, gone in a flash.
But at least they made quite a splash.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

She lives. Maybe she'll die in one of the next 5 dozen fortresses?
Who knows?
Her husband died.

Quite sad.

[Burying the Dwarfs in 8 pieces though was hilarious]

Goblins showed up immediately afterwards too! That said, 5 of the surviving 9 were legendary miners. 4 Dwarf casualties. The chief medical Dwarf survived, and is patching the others up with a broken arm himself. Abandoning imminent. Good luck to 'The Dwarf That Didn't Die HeadAttics,' and may you find sudden death wherever you go!
