I dont see point in solving things like "My mother is 2 times older than me, but she was 3 times older than me 3 years ago, how old am i now?"
Its hard to solve and incredibly pontless becouse only total asshole would say how old he is this way.
Well i asked my teacher "What is it for?"
"Its for the test"
"But what is the test for?"
"So you can get grade"
"What is point in getting good grades since i can pass school with getting average of 2?"
"Stop asking stupid questions"
The end of story.
And i actually learnt all english i know from games, and the internet, not school.

A question like this is actually really important, since it's basically finding the equations given some information. I'm not even sure how to elaborate, since there's an infinite amount of possibilities for problems that you might get.

The question is a "stupid" question involving the age of some guy, because the question is easy for everyone to understand. There's probably going to be some question where for example, you have to find out how many adults and kids went to some movie theater given some information involving the money that the theater earned and each kid being with two adults.

It's really important to learn how to get the equation from the information given, because questions like this will appear forever. In electrical engineering, one question could be, "An Op-Amp in non-inverting configuration has 10 gain, and Rf equals 9k. What is the value of Ri?"

Heck, you'll have to do math like that just to keep track of your basic finances and budgeting.

Because seriously, who uses algebra for your age?

The first is obviously easier to understand, but the idea is getting the second to the first.

It's embarrassing how many times I'm given a diagram or a circuit, only to have no clue how to even begin the equations.

Yeah.  In real situations you'll often be given a problem in terms of what's actually happening rather than an equation.  Being able to convert stuff to algebra is useful (or, alternatively, some people would prefer to approach a problem from a "real things happening" rather than an algebraic perspective - for them, going the other way could be useful).

So thats whats its for, well i have no problems with solving algebra, but i have problems by getting the suff to algebra.
Well and the mother thing, i made it on run, but this kind of tasks we have to solve at maths now.
And, to the PE hatetrain, i dont like PE becouse our teacher is vulgar, while you hear, "fuck" "shit" and stuff everyday, its a bit strange to hear it from teacher. He is like "Move your fucking ass over there!" and actually we can do nothing about it, we reported he is vulgar, but it didnt help.

It's the reason why I suck at maths. I can't study if the subject seems fake and hollow.

And it's impossible to learn English in school here. I learnt English from video games and internet. You can NEVER learn a language if you don't practice it outside the school. I learnt it because I needed it. I can't learn maths because I won't need it and I never got an acceptable answer to the "why we learn this crap?" question. I'm going to the twelfth grade. It's the final grade and after that it's university. Find me a logical reason why I am learning integral calculus in 12. grade. I'm never going to be involved in a career that involves mathematics and majority of the class too.

They don't teach us English (important in this modern day), how to treat simple injuries (important for emergencies), formal debate and public speaking (social skills), philosophy and critical thinking (important for... being able to think?)

They teach us integral calculus. They teach us algebra with involution. They teach us things we will never need when we don't even know how to speak in public. I know a girl who is smart but only smart in the terms of school. She literally can't talk. She says weird things and she has zero social skills. She makes a complete idiot of herself regularly. She is good at exams but that's it. She is either very stupid or very smart. Maybe it's because the definition of smartness is different in school.

I wish there was a lesson that teaches things like ethics and table manners. I used to have trouble while cutting meats. A kid who can't properly cut chicken nuggets with a simple knife is learning trigonometry...

Becouse both things are exciting. Dont get me wrong, im not psycho, i just was always fascinated with human body. There is something that disgusts but yet fascinates people in it. And well, not much of people want to be pathologist, so its kinda good job. And i think if math wouldnt be mandatory i would happily learn it. But still i prefer biology any time of day.

At least it's how it's like here. My teacher from grade school would slap his students in the head and it always sounded like a lightining. She always did it in an unexpectable situtation and she was very fast. Corporal punishment is prohibited in name only. Also, some teachers are lenient against good mannered students and students can recieve rustication because of their behavior. Schools are expected to maintain discipline, unversities don't... as much.

And I don't see anything wrong with a would-be metal musician not liking maths Most people who don't make living by a career that uses maths tend to hate maths because they are forced to learn it for years.

Ah, I misunderstood; I thought you were saying they should use beatings to teach discipline. Which is just plain wrong. And completely uncivilized *glares at USA and the European south and east*.
