You sure you don't mean commas? Because I don't think I said "Don*breath*t" twice just now.
I think I've adequately demonstrated why I didn't belong in top group English. I meant commas.

Back in middle school at least, some people in my English class had trouble reading to the point they took a minute to figure out how to pronounce any word more than 2 syllables, and I just thought they were complete idiots, now I realize it's just our failed school system to blame.

On another note, the other day in my AP GOVERNMENT (That's advanced placement, folks) class, someone asked if Obama was a Republican and that "those are the ones with the donkey right?" Fuck, I can't wait to get out of this country.

My favorite was when I was in middle school and someone raised their hand in social studies and asked "Why don't we just nuke those rakkies?" dumb bitch.

Or in astronomy, senior year, when a girl was told to define light, an awful job of defining it followed, I said "Very astute." sarcastically, she replieds "You're an astute, faggot."

I automatically dismiss someone as laughably unintelligent when they seriously use that word as an insult.

Same. I laughed it off. Obviously she didn't know what it meant.

Pretty much everything you say is leading to believing you're an arrogant twat, so you know.  Think before you type.  This isn't a conversation where you have to come up with something *now* you can wait and come up with something that isn't a kneejerk response.

Ad hominems. Wow. I don't see how MY response was kneejerk at all. Please elaborate and feel free to call me whatever makes you feel good.

"I automatically dismiss someone as laughably unintelligent when they seriously use that word as an insult."

First:  Not everyone is good at insulting and plenty of people smarter than I am use that as an insult as well.
Second:  Kneejerk isn't a good word for it, but you're basically just picking fights over semantics at this point.  You're saying things that come across as arrogant and assholish and when people call you on it you say "That isn't what I meant and you know it."

Third:  Enough of this bullshit, you're just insulting people.

You want to teach critical thinking?  Then show me how the hell you are going to come up with a standardized curriculum to teach spontaneity.  Should make for a funny read.
Well there is a course in it, which I took extracurricularly.  It was far from perfect but it at least allowed you to start analysing arguments made to you in a way that standard education really doesn't teach you to (it might be a good thing to include in science education, actually... since it's a crucial skill for scientists and the general populace that doesn't seem to be touched on much until higher education).

I didn't write that.

Woops, here I go destroying threads again. I was just picturing someone saying "You're an astute faggot". Calling someone a "faggot" isn't exactly the most intelligent insult.
