Farcical Aquatic Ceremonies

Waterfall pathing problems? It's not a bug, it's a feature, for you see... WHOSOEVER SHALL CROSS THE FALLS SHALL RULE THE FORT! New challenge, the Monarch has decreed, you can't appoint a baron until someone successfully crosses the top of a waterfall. The first dwarf to cross the falls must be appointed baron. You can use any techniques you like to make it easier or harder to cross the falls. You can set up an injured applicant collection station at the bottom, dam off the falls, use pumps, whatever you like. You can use squads, burrows, traffic designations, swimming pool training, whatever you want in order to get the right dwarf to be the first to cross. Some amount of water must be flowing over the top for the trial to be counted, there has to be mist, otherwise it's not a waterfall. The falls can be any size, whatever you can find, but they must be natural.

If interested, please post your hilarious combat logs, screenshots, stories, what-have-you here.  :D

A while ago I had half a caravan that managed to make it over a natural waterfall.

All hail Baron Von Wagon!

Technically, wouldn't the yak/water buffalo/whatever that pulled the wagon be "first"?  Appoint the yak baron.

A Dwarven Liaison once fell into a waterfall, then astonishingly popped back up it and ran into my fortress.  He died a few minutes later, though.  I didn't get a chance to see what damage he had taken.

Baron von Yak mandates the construction of aluminum nose rings. He demands a pig tail thread bed in his pasture. He forbids the export of yak meat.

Clearly they need to be launched across the water via bridgapult, thus combining two scenes from the movie. :P

Sounds like something good to say as the next Baron meeting toast!

I lucked out with a waterfall that everyone decided was safe enough, so far, no Dwarf casualties.

Not to mention that Baron bone bolts might be the only way that your nobles can be of use.

How has no one mentioned the title yet? +1, GhostDwemer!

(Although AWdeV did reference it.)
