Arcane Lash: Surrounds equipped weapon in a whip-like aura that increases the damage of the equipped weapon, along with extending its reach. Works best with smaller weapons. Consumes x mana for each turn active

Arcane Barrier: Surrounds caster in an invisible membrane that increases defense across the entire body. Consumes x mana for each turn active.

Hummingbird: A small, bird-like bolt spell that lasts for 3 turns dealing x damage to random enemy. Costs x mana.

Arcane Pulse: Pushes enemies back x spaces, dealing x damage. Costs x mana.

Arcane Wolf: Summons a wolf elemental to aid in combat, dealing x melee damage to target enemy. Has x health and no defense. Costs x mana.

Restore Elemental: Heals elemental for x health. Costs x mana to cast.

Nature

1. Poison Dart: Shots a thorn from the casting point on the caster dealing X damage with a chance to poison target.

2. Vine Whip: Creates a bound whip of vines that the user may use for 3 turn for X mana. Damage values are determined on how much mana is used. Has a small chance of poison targets.

3. Natural Defense: Encases the caster with a shell of natural materials, in the immediate area, causing the caster's defense to greatly rise.

4. Animate Plant: Must be used on a plant target. Upon being casted the target plant becomes animate for 3 turns and is free to move around and attack. Damage values are based on how much mana is used.

Shadow

5. Darkness Aura: A darkened aura encases the caster and causes a small mask around them causing NPCs to have a hard time seeing the caster.

6. Abuse Shadows: Entering into a shadow and casting this spell allows the caster to turn into the shadows and move to an adjacent, connected shadow, also disorientating the NPCs around the caster. While traveling in this form, it uses X mana/foot (measurement). Can only be used if the caster is fully encased by shadows.

Deron's Spells:

1. Firebolt- the caster calls on the spirits of fire for vengance on his foes, and gets this as a result. Deals the same damage as shadow bolt, but is of the fire type.
2. Ask for guidance- the caster meditates, asking a nature spirit for guidance in one decision. The spell may be extended for an additional mana and energy cost.
3. Scrying Pool- (Yes, I know I stole this one from Darius' list. It just seemed like a good shamanistic spell.) By using a still pool of water as a mirror, the caster can view people and places he already knows, and the picture is clearer the more he knows about the subject.
4. Summon Earth Elemental- By spending (insert large amount of mana here) mana, the caster summons an elemental from the ground, imbueing it with a spirit of earth. This spirit incurs an energy cost for every turn it's held in the elemental. The greater the duration the spirit is held on this plane, the higher the energy cost. Once the spirit leaves, the elemental returns to the earth.
5. See Spirits- (Another one from Darius, I know... At least we're both trying to be shaman) By spending a mana cost each turn this is active, the caster can view and communicate with elemental spirits.
6. Ancestral vengeance- If a caster spends all of his remaining mana and energy pools, he calls on his ancestral spirits (from waaaaay back) to wreak vengeance on his enemies. The amount of spirits summoned and the duration of the spell are dependent on how much mana and enrgy is spent, respectively. (mana= # of spirits summoned, energy= duration of summoning)

I'll admit I had no idea what spells to make, so if you have any ideas, let me know. Also, if I any of these are in the wrong school, let me know and I'll fix (A.K.A. replace) it.

do potion-making/ enchanting need to be included as starter spells, or are those considered different?

They are considered different, so no, they are not included.

Do we still need enchanting stones(or what they are actually called) to enchant, or can we just do it whenever we have time to focus?

You still need Enchanter's Runes, I imagine it'd be a bit unbalanced if you could just sit down and enchant all your items to their fullest potential power at the grand cost of nothing.

Well, my Lash spell is kind of an enchantment.
Question 1: is the feasible level cap still 20, or is it being increased for Modieval?
Question 2: Every few levels, will I be able to upgrade my spells, or replace them with stronger versions?(Not the level scaling, but a fully improved version)

But it isn't permanent, that's the point.

No, because then you'd become much more powerful than firearm/melee users. Enchantments and Level-Up Stats are how you increase the effectiveness of Spells.

Well, rather than upgrade all spells, how about just being able to re-balance spells that become too weak?

1. Jolt:for  (small amount of mana)  charges a weapon or body part with electric potential, adding (small amount) of shock damage to the next attack. Not effective on explosives and dissipates on its own after 2 turns.

2.lightning cloak: for ____ mana, creates a sphere of electricity that does ___ damage per turn to all foes around the caster.

3. lightning bolt: for___ mana, throws a bolt of energy, dealing ___ damage.

4.recharge: provides continuous energy for an electrical device, consuming mana proportional to the energy needed.

5. magnetic twist: for ____ mana, you polarize the air around you, decreasing the accuracy of iron based attacks against you for___ turns

Hey Aninimouse, you know how you used to have Moderators who would offer options while you were away? whatever happened to that? I understand the difficulties that would bring up so this isn't asking for it I'm just curious as to why you stopped.

How exactly would he go about assigning moderators on this board, and if he did assign people, how would he go about differentiating them from everyone else?
