Random comment #2: This setting could fit so many genres. Everything from noir to westerns.
We're like 5 pages in, and this may well be my favorite forum game already.

E: So, uh, anyone got any suggestions how I can track this dude down? I'm flat out of ideas.

Character's Name: Adrian Lyntas
Character's Race: 1/8 elf, 7/8 human
Character's Gender: male
Character's Age:19
Character's Description: Adrian is 5’ 1”, with a slightly slimmer build than normal, and tiny points on his ears. He has hazel eyes and light brown hair that’s usually puffed out from residual shock magic. Currently, his eyebrows and arm hairs are burnt.
Character's History: Adrian was raised in the city, by parents who were very proud of their elven heritage, where he learned the traditional arts of magic, spearmanship, and botany, as well as the less traditional art of artillery use at a young age. The combination of racial pride and overconfidence in his abilities made him very egotistic, and he fell in with the city’s criminals as a late teen. Spooked by a close brush with execution, he decided to make a fresh start on a small mercenary airship paid to patrol trade routes for bandits. He fights with close range shock magic, a spear, and an excessively volatile hand mortar(hence the lack of eyebrows).

Yeah it's pretty awesome.

I should point out, however belatedly, though, that the noir genre is actually an evolution of the western genre. Not that it means modieval isn't as versatile, of course. Noir and western are pretty distinct, even if one naturally follows from the other, and I think someone is involved in a somewhat horror-ish situation right now. Then Sinclair's got the whole medieval/humorous-fantasy thing going on with that adventurer/adventurer's corpse...

I fear we are heading into an apocalypse of catastrophic size sooner then you may think.

blah, I just realized I made my character 5' 1" instead of 5' 11". I guess I'm a really short guy now.

Why do we both need to post an action when it's just one of us addressing an NPC?

It seems odd for Sally to be doing nothing in that situation.

Well I can always just fix that for you. :P

Aninmouse...
Regarding my starting spells, I'm guessing the only thing immediately ruled out is a diviniation spell? :P
heh...

Also, can I get some info on orc shamanism please? What is it known for, exactly? That will shape the spells I come up with

I'm carrying an empty plastic bottle as a weapon. I must kill something with it now that this is known.

Sorry, was playing a mini-session of D&D. For future reference, though, I'm cool with Caboose taking the lead in these situations, and will probably wait for the response to his question before I post anything.
