Meant to post this last night, but the internet cut out.

I think I'm going to try for a world conqueror this time, we don't have a big bad yet and I've been itching to play as one for a while now.

Character's Name: Ozell

Character's Age: 56
Character's Description: A small greyish brown kobold wearing loose-fitting robes that conceal a variety of mechanical devices, as well as a completely mechanical arm.

Character's History: Ozell was born in kobold lands, but he spent  much of his early life in the dwarven lands as a servant and errand-drake where he learned the mechanics from watching the dwarves practice their skill.  One day he stole a few scraps from one mechanics workshop to try to create an invention of his own, but he was caught in the act and saw the hammer as punishment.  However, another dwarf saw his interest and took him on as an unofficial apprentice, requiring Ozell to give him every last bit of gold he earned working. 

In the end it was worth it. He surpassed his master and soon amassed a sizable amount of fame and more than enough to live on.  With the luxury that his new status provided him he decided to start dabbling in the arts of magic, which he took to like a fish to water.  He began to experiment with mixing the two, and with a bit of help from the the construct makers he managed to create small novelties such as sets of clockwork soldier that would engage each other in battle and obeyed you as a general.  They became a small hit and soon he had amassed enough wealth to the point where monetary matters were no longer and issue. 

He moved to one of the larger cities and after many more years of experimenting he began to feel uneasy about something.  Something was not right with the world.  It finally came to him as he headed back one day when he saw a man murdered right in front of him.  The world was imperfect.  In a perfect world he would not have been punished for satisfying his curiosity. In a perfect world that man would not have died.  Something needed to be done.

He initially entered politics to see if he could fix the world through the government.  The government failed him filled with its bickering and corruption. 

He started protests.  The very people he was attempting to lead began to violate his principles immediately, looting and pillaging instead of convincing others through logic.  He lost his arm during a riot when a looter decided that he was in his way and shot him in the upper arm multiple times.  The arm was damaged beyond repair and while he constructed a new one he came to the conclusion.

Sentient beings were imperfect. 
They made actions which made no logical sense.
They harmed others to benefit themselves.
The world was an unorganized mess. 
And it needed to be fixed.
And he had the skills to do so.

As the days went by he became increasingly paranoid that his involvement in the riots would become known, so the moment his arm was finished, he took what he could carry and headed off into the mountains seeking an old mine, abandoned due to the rumors of horrible fiends having been released from their prisons deep within the earth.  He was not bothered by this.  What was important to him was that it was said that there were still old mining machines and veins of metal left within the mine itself.

Having poor English isn't something I fault someone over. But there comes a point where my inner Grammar Nazi cannot be suppressed. My English and grammar was much worse than yours a few years ago, so it's just a matter of time and practice.

Pretty much what you had ended up using, although I had expected you to make him on a bit more of the evil side, not the misunderstood/mislead side.

Yep, that's what I meant.

My philosophy is that evil doesn't come from nowhere, it has to come from somewhere, over time the isolation and challenges thrown at him, combined with his now rampant paranoia are going to make him into a true Big Bad by the time the heroes find out about him.  Of course on the same note, I'm going to try to have some more fun with him than my medieval character, who I think I let sink too close to the serious side.
