I suggest the starting event steals all of his stored wealth from him.

This is what happens when we randomly murder people.

You get attacked by a Yandere triangle monster.

Don't take advice from my brother. He's just trying to sabotage me.

Or at least 98% of it and whatever valuable, powerful equipment he had.

Or he could just have normal equipment.

EDIT: Actually I like Lillipad's and PhantomOTL's ideas.

Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of;

You can't just start out like that, even says so in the intro this time around. If you are Wealthy, there needs to be something equally bad to balance it out.

I never said I started out wealthy for one.
:D

I'm at level one. And the wealth is backround mostly.

Also, my character has a vast fortune because of all of the mercenary jobs he has done in the past. I forgot to add that.
You're sending off mixed signals with that, but okay.

Also, sorry I forgot to answer:

Would it be a NPC mercenary team?

Yes. There are no player Mercenaries for you to team up with anyways.

It was for background information. That's all. It would seem highly illogical that he hadn't acquired a vast fortune while doing mercenary jobs for years.

Also, I would like to start out by myself. I would suggest a tavern or cantina.

Yes, I know. But:

Don't get too excited just yet though, unfortunately, you start your journey as little more than a nobody. You may be a good shot, or know how to cast a mean Firebolt spell, but you're no badass. Not yet, at least, that'll take some time and experience, but once you get going...

You're allowed to add that kind of stuff, but just don't expect to start out with that stuff. It may be illogical, but that isn't my fault.

Okay then.

One last question: Revolver, or Semi-Automatic Pistol?

In the Medieval period, mercenaries couldn't make a huge amount of money. Instead, they served off of tradition, promises of riches later in life, and other such things. Some mercenaries struggled with money so much, that they'd need to resort to theft and the like.
I don't know much about modern mercenaries, but with the current state of the world, they're probably close to nonexistent in developed countries.
Either way mercenaries are handled, it's unlikely he'd ever have more than a modest sum of cash from his small time as a mercenary.

We'll just forget this argument occurred because there is no point in continuing it since we are arguing the same point.

*Forget*

Revolver or Semi-Automatic Pistol...

What are the advantages and disadvantages in this game for those weapons? Faster attack speed and such?

You're assuming Modieval is based off of the Real World though.

What did the Nobility of the Medieval Period do about Dragon and Necromancer problems?

Revolvers are more powerful (Usually), have longer reload times, a bit slower firing speed, and have a bit less max ammo. The opposite applies to Semi-Auto Handguns.

Also, whichever you think is cooler is important.

Historically, real life mercenaries actually only had an average to low amount of spending money, most of it had to go into repairing their weapons and armor and purchasing new equipment or they were paid in later promises of wealth and/or land.  A lot of the time they ended up looting the very things they were supposed to be defending.
(I'm mostly basing this off of knowledge of the Italian city-state period, I don't know if it's applicable to all mercenaries throughout history, although I would assume it would be)

And Lillipad ninja'd me.

@Chaos: But human behavior is the same and the culture is fairly similar, so logically they would pay you like that.

And Aninimous ninja'd me.

Revolver then. It's more awesome than a semi-automatic.

Also:

I said how about we drop the argument since there is not point in continuing it.

I didn't really see an argument, just two history lessons.

As for how the nobility drove off dragons and necromancers... I'm gonna have to say bears. Yes. Bears is most certainly the answer.
