As for how the nobility drove off dragons and necromancers... I'm gonna have to say bears. Yes. Bears is most certainly the answer.

I see you have done your research, well played.

And I lied when I said last question: Did you want to go with the whole "Wealth was stolen" story Chaos?

(Also, regarding the whole Mercenary dealio, I did mention in the main post:)

I'm going to add something. For one I know about the Italian city-states. You most of all brother should know this. And of course I would know what happended/happens in the real world with mercenaries. But my point is that this is not the real world. It is a fantasy world where Aninimouse can make up whatever the heck he wants. Now yes he has based it off of the real world but does he have to do that all the time no. So why give me a history lesson (not really a lesson since I already knew it) on the real world when we are talking about the world of "Modieval"? Also, human nature is not going to be necessarily the same since this is a fantasy world. Now I'm not trying to make this into an argument but yet I am.

And then everyone who wasn't a mercenary lived happily ever after, the end.

Except the ones who are dead, but look at me talking when there's a character sheet to make.

Can I chime in?
I'm gonna do it anyways.

It's a bit pointless arguing about medieval mercenaries in a decidedly modern game. The Blackwater Worldwide makes a massive chunk of money, and last I checked the individual soldiers are paid a fair good amount (*cough*to ride around in humvees taking pot shots at pedestrians*cough).
If Chaos' character worked for, say, a business or group of businesses, perhaps they paid him a lot of money just to keep quiet about some questionable business practices he took part in?

None of us are mercenaries, including Chaos, so let's just be happy and contemplate the horrors of bears.

Sorry to double post, but I have an actual question.

How are mechanics and mechanisms going to be handled?
I think I mentioned in the other thread that I was planning on making a mechanic of sorts who enchants his creations to take them beyond what just gears and cogs can do.  Is Mechanics just a general skill or is it even an option?  If it is an option, how will it mix with enchanting if that's even a possibility?

It's a general skill. Because of the amount of skills in Modieval, I decided not to list them in the Application, instead checking the History for what skills to give people. As opposed to just going 'Here's a hundred skills, go put some points in them.'

How did you intend for it to mix with Enchanting? There aren't really any actual Game Mechanics for what you're asking.

One example would be giving a slight amount of intelligence to a clockwork spider or mannequin, so that they can actually think and react rather than just carry out a pre-"programmed" set of instructions.

The Dwarves have actually been doing things like that with Stone/Metal constructs since Medieval, so yes. Although achieving "Real" intelligence would be rather tricky, the Dwarves don't really bother with anything past simple problem solving and reactions.

I'm interested in seeing what you'll be doing with this character though.

Thanks.

One more question I think.

Kobolds are in here right?  How are their relations with everybody?
