Welcome, Adventurers!
(Or whatever else it is that you may happen to be.)

   It has been a long time in the making, but it is finally here. Welcome to 'Modieval' The Forum RPG!

   Hm? What is Modieval? It's a good question, although those of you who are the most interested, probably already know, but to those of you who don't: I'll do my best to try and answer it.

* Aninimouse casts 'Wall of Text' *

   In a nutshell, Modieval is an RPG-Style, Play-By-Post forum Roleplay, within which, you do whatever it is your heart desires in a post-Industrial Revolution version of the world used in my other forum game, 'Medieval' For those of you who have no idea what 'Medieval' is, it's basically your traditional Fantasy world; Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, Magic, etc... But the twist here is that now the use of inventions such as Firearms, Airships, Automobiles and the like are widespread, while Magic and Fantastical creatures are still just as common as they've always been.
Ever want to fight off a flight of Dragons from within a massive, Aerial Gunship?

((For a couple of reasons, I'd put off putting a better explanation of time period here; And then I just forgot about it... So to Clarify - The time the game takes place during is similar to a 1930/40-ish Earth - But of course, with stuff like magic and airships and numerous other things making it just a bit different.))

Don't get too excited just yet though, unfortunately, you start your journey as little more than a nobody. You may be a good shot, or know how to cast a mean Firebolt spell, but you're no badass. Not yet, at least, that'll take some time and experience, but once you get going...
You could become a good ol' Adventurer, exploring ancient, forgotten ruins in search of treasure.
Or a High Ranking Soldier, leading your squad into the front lines of battle.
Or a Mercenary, getting rich off of the jobs others won't do.
Or an Explorer, sailing through the skies in an airship, mapping out the unknown.
With a lot of work, you could even become the leader of your own Faction, whether it be one seeking peace, or war.
But those aren't your only choices, you can be whatever else you can think of.

The goal? There isn't one, other than to have fun. (Of course, you can always set goals for yourself, such as bringing an end to all evil, conquering the world, amassing a large fortune or a fleet of Airships, etc.)

How about the Story? Well, the past is up for you to discover on your own, but your actions are what will be shaping the story's future. The only real Big Bads are the players that seek to become the Big Bads. (Unless No one wants to become the Big Bad, but how likely is that?)

Also, due to the nature of the game, (And my talent with writing introductions, this following bit wasn't basically copy-pasted from Medieval's thread, I promise!) you don't have to team up with any other players if you don't want to. You can act almost entirely independent of every other player.
(Unless your character runs into them and you decide to interact with their character. And if you do want to team up with other people, it'd be best to do so with people with similar posting times/habits to yourself. If you'd want to post and play often, you probably wouldn't want to play with someone who only posts once a day, you'd be stuck waiting for them when you could be out there killing things!)
And, while this, as an RP, isn't some wacky, fourth wall breaking adventure: It also isn't exactly an entirely serious one. References, subtle cracking of the fourth wall, and all around bizarre happenings certainly aren't uncommon, and if that isn't your thing, this game probably won't be either.
You have no control over any NPCs, places, events, or especially players outside of your own character's interactions with them. So playing the game does rely a bit much on my presence.

Lastly, if you have any questions, ask Here in the OOC Thread.

(I haven't finished setting up your character sheets yet, because I need to redo your inventories, but posting these now won't hurt)

~~~~~~~~~~Caboose~~~~~~~~~~
Chesdell... A pleasant little port town on the coast... At least, that's what the sign says.
Having journeyed here from far to the North, this is the first settlement you've seen in quite some time. The sun is still high in the sky, and there's a gentle breeze rolling over the hills surrounding the road, but you've run out of supplies. You'll be needing some food, and water...
A)Walk down the road, to the South and into Chesdell
B)Turn around and walk to the North, along the road
C)Walk off the Road and into the Hills to the West
D)Walk off the Road and into the Hills to the East
~~~~~~~~~~Darius~"Red-Eye"~Smith~~~~~~~~~~

 "And that concludes this morning's News Broadcast." The voice on the radio says, before falling silent. You feel a bit funny, and your memory is a little hazy... Had you dozed off for a minute there? No matter, you have things to do.

You take a quick look around. That's right, you're in your apartment. Apart from the radio, couch and bookshelf, the room is quite empty. However, there are four doors. Leading to your Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, and the last, out of your apartment.

Did you have any plans for today?.. There must be something to do.

A)Listen to the Radio some more
B)Enter your Bedroom
C)Enter your Bathroom
D)Enter the Kitchen
E)Leave your Apartment
F)Look at the Bookshelf
G)Look out the Window

~~~~~~~~~~Sally~Brightfield~~~~~~~~~~
You awake in your bed with a long yawn, your thoughts returning to the strange dreams you had. They had had something to do with... Magic, that you can remember, but you're having trouble recalling any more details...
You take a look around. You're in your bedroom of course, you aren't sure why you would have suspected otherwise...
A)Rest a while longer
B)Open the Closet
C)Open your Dresser
D)Look at your Shelf
E)Look out your Window
F)Leave your Bedroom
~~~~~~~~~~Sinclair~Nilnekod~~~~~~~~~~

The adventurer looks up, towards you.

"Damn it!" He shouts, drawing his pistol. "Surrender now and... Err... Can you actually be hurt? Do the undead feel pain?" He asks curiously.

A)<Insert Action Here>

Darius rubbed at his temples and closed his eyes, listening to silence for a moment longer. There was something he had to do today, but he couldn't quite remember what. After a moment, he reached out and tapped the radio again. Might as well see what else is going on, maybe it'd jog his memory.

A) Listen to the radio.

Sally rubbed her eyes and rolled out of bed. The first thing to do was get dressed for the day; she hardly needed to be walking around the ranch in a nightgown. Running a hand through her hair, she opened the closet and pulled out some clothes at random, struggling a bit to fit into her jeans. What else was in there?

B) Sally gets her clothing out of her closet and looks in it.

Caboose looked around. Not a forest in sight, just hills. He wasn't likely to find any good game without wasting energy, so he picked the logical option.

~~~~~~~~~~Darius~"Red-Eye"~Smith~~~~~~~~~~
You continue listening to the radio, as some cheery classical music begins to play. You turn the dial.
"A new millennium. Year 1k, we're dealing in quadruple digits here now, eh Frank? Many people thought that the new year would signify the 'end of the world as we know it', but I feel fine."
"Just some paranoid kids looking for patterns that don't exist. Didn't they say the same thing about last year? What did we get? Nothing."
"Well the year is still young. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, right?"
A)Keep Listening
B)Turn the Dial
C)Turn the Radio Off
~~~~~~~~~~Caboose~~~~~~~~~~

You continue down the road towards the town by the sea, when you hear something behind you. Turning, you watch as a truck rolls down the road, stopping alongside you. A man leans out the window, staring at you for a moment. "Eh... Need a lift to town?" He asks, looking up at you.

A)<Insert Action Here>

~~~~~~~~~~Sally~Brightfield~~~~~~~~~~
You around at the contents of the closet. A few more pieces of clothing... A few coats, hats, and an old Backpack... And lastly, two cardboard boxes.
A)Open the Boxes
B)Take out ___
C)Nevermind the Closet
~~~~~~~~~~Sinclair~Nilnekod~~~~~~~~~~

The adventurer waits patiently as you try to remember the Blind spell... It's hard to remember... Now that you think of it though, you remember hearing about things like this happening to liches, and the undead in general.

"Something wrong?" The adventurer asks.

Aha! You can remember your spells now... Or at least, some of them. Namely Shadow Bolt, Blind, and Raise Undead.

A)ATTACK!
B)<Insert Action Here>
