The capital of Seeridith, Tarbinil, is completely in darkness. Lights flicker on in the center building, a large castle with many windows as servants prepare for a party. Slowly guests filter into the castle, comprised of soldiers and nobles with several peasants. Standing on the walls of the large city stand several guards armed with the latest in weaponry, crossbows. The rest of the military is within the castle. The city is badly placed and Seeridith is on the verge of war with the neighboring countries yet the King ignores the threat for the most part. Within the mess hall, where the majority of the party-goers are, is a large table with the King at the far end from the entrance. At his side stand 2 fully armored guards with long swords. Behind him is a wooden door leading to the servant's quarters in a small alcove. To the right of the entrance is a fireplace dug into the wall. That, along with several candles placed on the wall, light up the mess hall. The heads of several animals decorate the top of the fireplace and the smell of smoke spreads throughout the room. To the left of the entrance are 9 small tables with 2 chairs each, lovers and friends sit there and converse with one another as small groups talk at the main table and in small grounds around the room.
The king has a short sword attached to his belt and two unarmored guards stand at the entrance with long swords. The majority of the populace in the room are unarmed, except for about a regiment of soldiers who have short swords with them, adding up to about a regiment of unarmored soldiers within the room. Two regiments of armored and armed guards patrol the hallways of the castle. Servants rush between the kitchen, which is on the other side of the castle and away from the mess hall, and the rooms where a nobles are. Two armored and armed guards stand at the entrance of the armory with one unarmored and armed guard inside, sitting at a small table. Soldiers patrolling walls count up to about one regiment. The entire military itself is about twenty regiments of soldiers but, as stated, they are mostly unarmed.
As the small amount of guards patrol the walls and most of the army is unarmed within the castle, and with a spy infiltrating the kingdom and reporting news of a large party which leaves the capital undefended, the military of Seeridith's neighbor, Kalit, march upon Tarbinil under the cover of night. With an unknown amount of soldiers they march a regiment of crossbowmen behind soldiers with broad shields. Quickly they take out the guards on the walls which leaves about a regiment left. As a soldier sees the approaching army and watches his fellow soldiers fall he yells out and calls for the rest to fall back, leaving about one regiment alive. Drawbridges are quickly raised to stop the approaching army but the crossbowmen react by covering the tips of their bolts with cloth, dousing them with oil and setting them aflame as they launch them at the wooden bridge. As they wade across the moat the surviving crossbowmen are slaughtered as before they get to the door of the castles, except for one. Bursting through the entrance, and into two guards, he tries to spit out a response. After getting out the fact that they are being attacked a crossbow bolt pierces his neck, leaving him spitting out blood as he attempts to yell for help. The guards he ran into are soon slaughtered by another volley of crossbow bolts and all in the hallways of the castle that don't manage to barricade themselves into a room are soon slaughtered. As soldiers burst into the messhall a fight ensures, one which the King's Soldiers win. Soon after this they close the doors and barricade them with several tables. Several crossbow bolts pierce the door itself but it holds still.
The people turn to the king to get them out of this problem.
This game's setting is based around a siege on a castle called Valindor in the nation Seeridith. The culture in the game is mostly medieval with crossbows recently being invented and used only by the military. The first to apply to become the king in the game becomes the king and controls the majority of the soldiers until he either gets split up, in which a general takes over, or if the king gives control of his army to a general or such. I will explain this in spoilers. The point of this is to retake the outer city with any means possible, be it knocking out soldiers during a skirmish in the halls and interrogating them or simply using brute force. If you don't want to be the king then you don't want to. Other choices are: Noble, General, Soldier, Adviser, Well connected peasant, the Spy within the castle, an enemy general or soldier or the King's wife or Queen's husband. Any other jobs can be chosen if you want but please describe what their role would be if it's not clear. If you have any questions then please ask.
Soldiers with armor get a +1 to fighting, soldiers with long swords get a +1 to fighting. If you manage to flank your enemy then the fighting roll gets a +2 along with any other bonuses. The enemy can also have bonuses. If an enemy general is not picked by a player then I will control them.
You can throw wave after wave of unarmed nobles at the enemy by this will probably result in their death and the death of, at the most, one soldier within a regiment.
Interrogation is not an easy thing and you will most likely only get information about their forces instead of a spy, a roll will be made upon a successful interrogation roll to see if you find out there is even a spy. Another roll will be made to see if you can get the name of the spy. Some people are easier to interrogate then others, a general will give you a -1 to your interrogation. Strong or intimidating characters, such as a general, will provide a +1 to interrogation. Feminine characters which do not pose as much as a threat and appeal to the person you are interrogating give you a +1 if the person you interrogate doesn't like them, this will be decided by a roll, then you get a -1.
The mess hall is within the center of the castle which is in the center of the city. The kitchen is on the opposite side of the entrance and far away from the mess hall. The armory, where you can find armor and weapons, is right next to the entrance. The servants quarter is populated by servants and is connected to the mess hall, it is stocked with some bread and water but not enough for everyone. Those places are no doubt filled with some people as described in the story but there are probably places populated by others. Simply searching rooms as you capture parts of the castle may or may not result in you finding people.
King - Commands the army and is the leader of what remains of the city. He is considered a noble as well so he gets a noble interrogation bonus.
Noble - Is used for interrogating prisoners peacefully. They aren't much use in fighting. This role can be the spy.
Well connected peasants - Can fight in hand to hand and can form about a regiment. If you manage to organize them and encourage them that they won't die. This role can be the spy.
Armed Soldiers - They form a regiment and fight. This role can be the spy.
Unarmed Soldiers - Provide a violent interrogation bonus, can fight if armed. This role can be the spy
Spy - Works to assassinate important people within the castle and generally mess up the survivors.
Queen - See: The king
Adviser - He gives the kind advice and has minor combat training. This role can be the spy.
General - Commands the army if away from the king or given the right to do so by him and gives a violent interrogation bonus. He provides a +1 fighting bonus if he fights in the battle if the regiment he's with has neither long swords or armor.
Any other role you create - Describe what it does. If he's not directly royalty he can't be a spy.
Sneaking is decided by several factors. One of which is if you are in light and in their sight. If you are in both then you will be caught no matter what you roll, but you can roll to run and this will spare you the probable death.
You must specify where you want to sneak and how. A roll will be made to see if rounding a corner gives you an enemy, if it does then another roll will be made to see how many, another will be made to see if they are facing you. If they are another roll be made to see if they see you should you not be in the light, if you try to assassinate them then 2 rolls will be made and the mess up of one results in you having to fight.
You can try to barricade the room you are in with the supplies you have, such as tables or other things. The mess hall starts barricaded and most supplies are taken up. Enemies will try to assault a position every two turns, if it not barricaded then chances are that you will have to fight. If it is barricaded then them rolling a five results in them breaking through and a fight occurs. The enemy army is predetermined and may or may not change depending on the situation, you will never know.
Either the majority decides that the game is over and this finishes or you can try to rally your forces and fight back, perhaps even conquering your enemy.

I may have left out details and if you have questions then please ask them. My spelling and such isn't super fantastic so if there are any horrible mistakes or you find minor mistakes insulting to your intelligence then please tell me in a private message or something so I can fix it. This will be updated to reflect any changes in the rules and stuff.
I'm not fantastic with story telling so imagination will probably be needed, I'll try my best.
