"Now I am become Death
The Destroyer of Worlds"

- Bhagavad Gita

----------

"....Dead, another dead prototype. What strain was this one?"

"C37B."

"C37B?! Shit, I knew there was something weird about this one.

Alive. You were dead, and now you are alive. You recognize these noises as words. They begin forming meaning. Two humans are conversing who sound like young, Caucasian males. The object of their conversation is you.

"Alright, let's get this autopsy started."

You feel the air pass in and out your lungs, the metallic feel of what must be a table under you, the feeling of blood pulsing through you again.

"Scalpel. Alright, just make an incision in the chest cavity-"

You jerk up, panting. The two men flinch backwards. They are both adorned in medical clothing, protective layers on every part of their skin.

"Jesus Christ!" One of them exclaims. He runs out of the room screaming, "SECURITY! SECURITY! WE GOT A WALKER!" The other man simply backs into a wall, shielding himself with his arms. You look around the room. You are sitting on a table, around you are similar tables with bodies. There is a cart filled with operational items. The light fills the room with a green color. You lift yourself off the table, and find that you can stand; barely, but at least you can. You have no clue what any of this is or means. You shamble to the nearest exit you find, slamming though the double-doors.

You find yourself in a hallway, the florescent light displaying similar green glow like the room you were in. You make your way to the left, still unbalanced. You hear gunshots coming from behind you, and they are getting loudly. You breath heavily, fear crackling throughout your body and mind. You take a left, a bullet embeds itself in the wall next to you. You sprint, but then you find yourself up upon a wall. You turn around, a quintet of pistol-armed people advancing onto you. You shrink, almost into the fetal position, when they start firing upon you. The first two bullets hit your torso, one hits your arm, more hit your leg, a shot to the chest, and finally one hits your temple. You crumple....yet you don't die.

The bullets did not hurt, nor did they feel like much. It felt more like the guns these men wield are just toys. One speaks, "Walker is down, I repeat, the Walker is down." As he says this, you sense him walking towards you and instinctively jerk up to defend yourself. "-Wait, ah goddamn!-" He grabs the barrel of his firearm preparing to make a bludgeoning move. In fear, your only reaction is to press both your arms in front of you and shove. You shove him, and stare in wonder as he flies back several feet through the air as if he had been hit with a car. He slams into three other men, each going yelping and yelling as they topple like dominoes.

Seeing this opportunity, you run towards them. One man still remains standing, but his eyes are preoccupied by his allies lying in heap. You shove him too, and he slams into the wall, letting out a sharp cry as his back makes a dent into the surface. You continue running, when you start to realize you are going inhumanly fast. You turn several corners, jumping chairs and portable tables with incredible ease.

You come to a door, above it a a red EXIT sign. You sigh in relief and push it open, and begin to relax for the first time since you've awoken. At this moment, your life's memories come flooding back......

This is P.R.O.T.O.T.Y.P.E., a one-man-army suggestion game that will incorporate RPG elements. You, the players, will play the role of the conscious of our protagonist, and decide how he/she/it will go about their journey. This game has heavy influences from video game series like Prototype and The Darkness.

To start off, we need a character created. To do so, just answer the following three questions:

What is your name?

What is your appearance?

What is your history?

The chosen character will be the most popular and/or the one of my choice.

So, that's it for the Prologue. It's time to Evolve....

Alex Rayne

A teenager in red and yellow shirt with the communist insignia on it.

We were just an average teenager, Getting B's and C's. But, one day, we were on the internet and saw an ad for a job at Cost-a-lot, the grocery store. We had never heard of the place but we decided to give it a try. Oh, how stupid we were. Well, the place to meet the "employer" was an alley. We were knocked out cold when we arrived. Now, we dont know what really happened, all we know is that it was bad.

If Coolnesstod doesn't mind, I'd like to post my take on this

Alex Rayne

A teenager in red and yellow shirt with the communist insignia on it.

We were an average kid, muddling by in school, not really standing out. We recently left for a vacation, since dad got a vacation break from his work at Gen-something. After that we don't remember

((I will compromise and merge the two Alex Rayne back-stories.))

It comes back to you as you step outside into a secluded parking lot. It looks like mid-night, and it is dead silent. You are Alex Rayne, a 17-year old junior in High School. You don't remember which one, but it was definitely a high school, it should come back to you. Anyways, you were pretty average for a teenager: You made B's and C's, played video games, had a few close friends, pretty clunky on dating. You remember you applied for a job as a cashier at a local Cost-a-Lot, but someone approached you from behind and knocked you out cold.

Another memory comes to mind. You went on vacation with your family when your father got vacation time. His name... Samuel Rayne. He got a bit lucky from all those hours at....Gen...Gen...something. Your High School and Gen- both ended in the name of this city. You look around,  and the buildings seem all too familiar, yet you can't name this city. As you try to remember, you hear another voice yell, "Found you!"

You turn your head to see yet another armed guard. "Die, you mutant fucker!" His pistol shoots bullets into you, and as before, they have no effect. But this time you feel different. You feel enraged, and added onto this, you feel hungry. Very hungry, and this guard is the only way you can quell your hunger. With a roar, you charge him at insane speeds. "Oh shi-!" He unloads more bullets, but nothing stops you as you run up to him and slam your fist into his torso. He yells out as the attack goes through his light armor sends him rolling several feet back.

You make a large jump and you are on top of the dazed armed man, kneeling on his stomach. "Stop!" His cries are useless, and you bring your left fist down on his jaw. You hear a crack as you do, and bring your other hand quickly down upon his temple. At this point his stops responding. You land a few more blows, and then the man starts dissolving before your very eyes. Not only is he dissolving, he is dissolving into you. He turns into a a matter made of red, white and black, which starts developing into strands which begin going into your body. The matter goes into your arms, legs, torso, face, groin, everywhere. But you don't feel a thing.

Suddenly, you are flooded with more memories. But these are different. You see yourself getting a motorized scooter at a birthday as a child from Mom, a party where Carlos, Danny and Montie'  cheer you on as you consume alcohol, your hand around a Hannah's shoulders as you two view a movie. But this aren't your memories. In the memories you can see your hands, and they are the hands of the guard who was dissolved in front of your eyes.

Your senses come back to reality, and you feel weird. You feel taller, and your weight has shifted. Looking down at your hands, you double-take. They are the hands of James Thompson, the man who you have killed. You realize you know his name too, and that you are definitely him. "What the hell..." You speak this aloud, yet in a voice you only heard a few moments ago.

Another memory pops up. That of your house, the one you've lived in all your life, and it's nearby where you are now. You are fixated on an attractive looking female in the memory. She is calling towards you. But who is she? Your mother? Sister? Grandmother? Aunt? Girlfriend? Ex-girlfriend? And also, where the hell are you?

A flash. Both these questions are answered......

----------

((So this turn, answer these questions.))

Who is that woman?

Where are you?

Consumption: This is the first P.R.O.T.O.T.Y.P.E. Mutant Power you have come across. Rather than kill someone, you can consume them by dissolving them into matter and absorbing them. This has several benefits as opposed to simple killing. First off, this method restores a portion of health you have lost, the amount depending on the target consumed. Second, the amount of Evolution Points gained by consumption is ten-fold compared to the EP gained by regular killing. (I will go into this more later, but for now, just know that Evolution Points are important.) Third, you gain the memories and appearance of the target you have consumed. Any memory or appearance gained by consumption can be accessed anytime. (I will only tell any specific memories if they relate to Alex in anyone, unless specifically requested for.)

There are downsides to consumption however. Consumption only works when a target is paralyzed, unconscious or crippled. A target in good health will be able to resist consumption. Also, consumption uses all of Alex's mutant powers during the process. So for 5-20 seconds, (depending on who the target is and their relative health) Alex can not have Claws or Super-Muscles. You will however, be able to do things like wield firearms, (if you have certain memories) or lift cars and run up buildings (passive powers that Alex will have no matter what.)

The woman is our Mother, she died 1 year ago in a car accident, she was the only one dead. The memories have haunted you forever.
You are in Sharence Village, a medium sized town.

You remember the name of the women seen in your mind. That was your mother, Karen Rayne. She was killed last year in a brutal car accident. It was a 12-car pileup, yet she was the only one that was killed. You are still shaken every time you think of the memory.

You are in Sharence Village. It is a township of about ~250,000 people. You have lived here your entire life. So has James Thompson, from the memories you've collected from him. It's got several public facilities, private stores, a government building, 4 movies, several bars, a few hotels and so on.This looks like it's somewhere downtown, just another nameless office building you would have assumed had you not been inside.

You check your equipment. Currently, you are of the appearance of James Thompson, a 22-year old blonde security officer. James had no idea what this place was, besides some medical area. He was assigned two weeks ago to patrol here, and he accepted since this job gave him a nice salary bonus. It had been tense here though, some of the 'patients' where causing all sorts of trouble.

You are wearing a white shirt, and on it some very light body armor. It won't stop bullets, but it's good for a knife or a dog attack. You wear black pants, a black hat and black shoes. In your pockets you have a taser, a can of pepper spray, your wallet and your I.D. Card. You have holstered a 8mm Bradly Pistol. The closest you've gotten to carrying a gun in your life has been video games, but now you feel as if you have been down to a range quite a few times.

You are under the disguise of Jack Thompson, hiding your true self of Alex Rayne. You are standing in the middle of a secluded parking lot in Sharence Village. You have powers, and many questions.

What now?

----------

Now we start the RPG element of the game. Alex will get stronger by killing and consuming targets, along with other ways which will be discovered in the future. As he does so, he will gain Evolution Points, or EP. EP will be split into two sections: Attribute Points (AP) and Power Points (PP.) To level up in either an Attribute or Power, points must be spent. A level up costs as many points as Alex's current level in an area. I.E.: 1 to 2 costs 1 point, 3 to 4 costs 3 points, 19 to 20 costs 19 points, etc.

Attributes are overall skills that Alex has. Leveling up Attributes make him overall better in the selected area, and unlocks Attribute-specific Powers. Alex's attributes are as follows:

Offense: This determines Alex's ability in directly combating forces.

Agility: This determines how fast & easily Alex can move.

Defense: This determines Alex's ability in defending himself against forces.

Survival: This determines how much health and stamina Alex has, and includes last-ditch survival resorts.

Senses: This determines how well developed Alex is in sensing his environment.

Stealth: This determines Alex's ability in sneaking around and pulling off actions undetected by others.

Each Attributes starts at Level 1.

As you upgrade in Attributes, you gain special Powers. This is where Power Points come in. PPs work the same way, leveling up in a Power will improve it's abilities, and possibly further unlock Sub-Powers. Sub-Powers can not directly be upgraded, they are the same level as whatever the main Power currently is.

I.E. You have Musclemass Level 3. To upgrade, you will need to put in 3 Power Points. When you do, your Musclemass will increase to Level 4, giving this Power more damage potential. Also, you upgrade Ground Slam, which will always be the same level as Musclemass.

You currently have unlocked no Powers. You can upgrade Attributes to unlock them.

Alex currently has 1 AP.

((There will be a spoiler for Alex at the end of every one of my game posts. You can check out all of his information there.))

You decide to head home to find out more on your situation. Disguised as James Thompson, you exit the parking lot, ending up on a street. Street lamps and neon signs contrast with the darkness. You walk down the mostly empty streets, making sure to look as normal as possible.

You continue crossing streets and turning corners until you see your home. Hurrying to it, you see it has been altered. The windows have been smashed, some of the wood has been removed, the patio deck looks like it's been hit by a bomb, and the main door is open by it's hinges. Across the house's doorway yellow police tape.

Three policemen and one car are standing in front of the house. The men are conversing about something. One of them sees you inspecting the house.

He calls over, "Hey, who are you?
