"Lisa, supposedly. You should search for her, I'll try experimenting with a way of scanning the whole building."

Re: Roll to Be Heroic - Turn Fifty-Nine! In which time grows short.
« Reply #573 on: May 15, 2012, 11:25:09 am »

Turn the fifty-ninth!  And it's a short one.

Agent Conners [3] unconsciously used most of her stored energy to wake up.  She rubbed the back of her head, still stunned from the blow.  She opened the door and stepped out, almost right into the arms of Jenny.
Agent Green continued searching, [hidden search check] and soon found himself in a completely different part of the building.  He hurried back to the others.
Agent Maxwell entered MSG, heading to where her teammates were supposed to be.  [hidden search check] She spent a moment investigating a locked door, before it swung open and she caught Lisa staggering out.
Agent Reon scanned the building for routes and decided to take the fire escape to the roof.  [5+1+1] She arrived in record time, but out of breath.  Far below her, she could hear somebody introducing the mayor.
Agent Fortmüller snapped a spar of heavy plastic off of his battle suit's leg and held it up to its "ear", placing the other end against a wall [hidden listen check] and instantly hearing the noise of everything in the building.  Somebody was taking the fire escape to the roof.  Two people were walking along together above him.  Several people were wandering in other parts of the building.  Below him, a person was beginning to fight off the effects of a tranquilizer.  There was some sort of rat infestation in the air ducts.  A crowd of people were walking around just outside.

"This actually worked...Uh, wait, it seems the janitor is waking up. I hope he doesn't remember anything."
Nicholas quickly made a headcount and realized something. The ducts would have to be infested by giant rats to create a noise like that, and there was one human missing.
"Team, I just found our assassin, if it is not one of you, then he is moving through the air ducts."

Nicholas follows the path of the ducts and searches for a possible exit where he can intercept the criminal.

((Our team is full of fail and AIDS. I mean it.))

Jenny caught Lisa, dipped her just because, and brought her back up to standing. "Are you OK?" After getting her answer and listening to Nick, she added, "I'm small enough, I'll go in the vents too. Maybe I can flush him out?" She looked around for a vent entrance.

"Wait, AIR DUCTS?

I've climbed all the way to the roof, and then we catch him in the ducts?!

Well...this will be interesting."

Ires scanned the rooftop for any access to the ventilation system, as there should always be one in a technically sound building; this, or she didn't have a degree in Architecture.

If found any, she enters it, hoping this is the path to the Assassin.

If this isn't the path, then coordinate with the rest and scope out the Mayor from my position. Check for trajectory lines.

"And the ceremony is starting, someone is introducing the Mayor."

Action: Coordinate with my teammates-have them flush out the assassin, and I'll be there to catch him when he exits the vents/

Lisa let out a small whoop as she was dipped and helped steady herself on Jenny.

"Thanks for that. Gaaah, I fell for the old jacket-on-a-mop trick... Stupid! Listen, this guy is a lot smarter than the rest of the hammers, and he said something else which I'll tell you later."

Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself and continued, pointing out the vent in the closet for Jenny.

"He's definately in the vents. Remember, he's got to come out somewhere near where he can use his rifle. Nick, stay on the roof so you can get a shot on him if you can. I'm heading back outside."

Coordinate with team to help catch the assassin.

Turn sixty.  Every single turn up to this point has been one minute long and this is the one-hour anniversary of the beginning of the game!  Note: the previous statement is not true.

Agent Fortmüller hoped the janitor waking up below him didn't remember him as he messaged his team.
"Team, I just found our assassin, if it is not one of you, then he is moving through the air ducts."
"I'm small enough, I'll go in the vents too.  Maybe I can flush him out?"
"Wait, air ducts?  I've climbed all the way to the roof, and then we catch him in the ducts?!  Well...this will be interesting.  And the ceremony is starting, someone is introducing the Mayor."
"He's definitely in the vents.  Remember, he's got to come out somewhere near where he can use his rifle.  Nick, stay on the roof so you can get a shot on him if you can.  I'm heading back outside."
Keeping his ear to the wall, Nicholas followed the noise of the assassin moving through the ducts, following him in a generally upward direction.  Pretty soon there was the sound of a violent impact, a voice, and no more moving.
Agent Maxwell found a vent entrance after helping Lisa back up, and following Nicholas' direction followed the assassin, catching occasional glimpses of his feet as he rounded a corner or went up a floor.  After the third or fourth time of him heading straight up, he dropped straight back down on Jenny's head, (4) knocking her out cold but finding himself unable to move again in the cramped space.
"Crap... hey, you up there, mind waiting a minute so I can get free?  No?  Damn."
Agent Reon scanned the area and found an air vent, so she opened it up and entered.  She followed Nicholas' direction and headed to cut the assassin off.  She managed to spot him clambering up from the level below, but as soon as they saw each other he let go, falling and hitting somebody below.  Jenny, by the sound of her voice.  Ires heard him cursing but couldn't quite make out what he was saying.
Agent Green and Agent Conners positioned themselves at the vents as the sniper moved through the walls.  As they repositioned themselves for the dozenth time, from the vent came the noise of a collision and the vague sound of somebody cursing.

"Careful guys, he''ll be tricky to handle in those tight spaces. Did you catch him?"

Keep outside the vents and follow which way the assassin goes. If he starts heading to an exit, prop myself above the exit, listening for the sound of a grenade just in case, and if he pops his head out, slam him! If I hear him roll a nade, bail out as fast as possible and wait until it goes off or he exits, then charge.

"What was that sound?"
Nicholas tries to discover what is happening by locating the point where the people are wedged, punching a hole with his fingers through the wall and the duct above said point, looking through it and sticking his dart attachment into it, shooting the man.
If punching a hole fails, he just goes upstairs and shoots a dart from the point Reon is.

"That was very, very ungentlemanly."

Swing down to check the random event out!

If I see Jenny, try to subdue whoever attacked her by bowshot! To the leg, to slow any escape. Use a blunt arrow. Flashbang! With a good lob.
