"Ow."

Kick the legs of the knife shoes dude and get him pinned so I can drain him into unconsciousness.

Dwarmin: very well, I'll retroactively add it to the last turn.  Give me a couple of minutes.
Ok, done

Investigate place for more clues: hallways, hidden doors, traps, bombs, undead fish...the like.

Then practice my stretching a bit, and flexibility.

Re: Roll to Be Heroic - Turn Forty-Four! In which
« Reply #453 on: May 03, 2012, 01:42:24 pm »

Sorry for the delay.  Turn forty-four now.

At Central Park,
Agent Fortmüller looked through the pile of clothes and personal items in the corner.  Watches, wallets, an Islanders cap, a misplaced sock...  Deciding there was nothing to be learned from that he tried the computer instead.  [1] Password protected.
Agent Reon searched the room itself for clues, [hidden search check] finding only a beetle which scuttled away.  Deciding there was nothing to be found she did some stretches instead (+1 to athletic rolls for the rest of the mission).

Current Status: Inside a hidden tunnel
Sawed-off Uzi Guy: [subdued]
Chainsaw Man: [deceased]
Molotov Cocktail Dude: [deceased]

At Times Square,
Agent Maxwell stomped invisibly on the sai wielder's face, [4+1] knocking him out, and grabbed the harpoon gun user's right arm, [2+1-1] but he shook her off.  He swung a haymaker where he thought she was (4) and connected with her nose, dazing her.
Agent Conners got back to her feet and [2+1] tried to sweep the legs of the guy that knocked her down, causing him to stumble but keep his footing.  She followed up with [1+1-1] an attempted grab, but overextended and left herself vulnerable.  He tried counterattacking with a jab, (2+1-1) but missed.

Current Status: Fighting
Aerosol Flamethrower Thug: [deceased]
Harpoon Gun Goon: [wounded (broken left tibia)]
Sai Criminal: [subdued]
Knuckles and Shoes Gangster: [wounded (laceration, left foot)]

At the UN Headquarters,
Agent Green gathered his focus for another blast at the claymore thug.  [3+2] The man lost his grip on his weapon as he flew backward, landing at the feet of a SWAT officer, who subdued him.  There were more bangs from inside the tower, from a higher floor this time; Desmond judged it to be around the fifth or sixth level.  The Electrician spoke.
"I'm heading up there.  Do you want a lift?"

Current Status: Searching
Spiked Chain Ganger: [subdued]
Scythe Wielder: [deceased]
Claymore User: [subdued]
Unknown Person: [unknown]

Desmond nodded.

"Yeah. Just get me up there and toss me through a window or something. I won't feel a thing, and you can come in right behind me through the gap. Sound good?"

Well, that was a guess. Desmond hadn't actually thought to practice busting through windows, who could have guessed...It's the sort of idea you only get in hindsight.

Action: Agree to get a lift to higher level of the tower. Prepare a quick burst of kinetic energy in melee range to help blow my way into the building, if there's obstacles in my way like glass and such.

Nicholas frowned. Ok, a password. He looked behind him to see Agent Reon stretching. Resisting the urge to facepalm, he used his knowledge about the suit workings to activate a command window on his face display, connecting the suit with the computer through a spare cable and ordering the suit's internal computing central to handle the number (and letter)-cracking. Before that, he tried all the common passwords idiots use, such as 000000~
"I guess I will try this. Can you keep searching the room while I work here?"

(If only you had a hacker on your team...)

Lisa gritted her teeth in frustration and decided to just go for it.

Tackle the knuckles and shoes dude and beat him down, draining him into submission.

((I guess I should have guessed the park was the least obvious place to hide a secret computer lab, and thus, it was the most likely for the GM to put it there!

Who knows how the Hammers got the building permits for that. :P ))

Ires stood up from her position and turned to Nicholas. "Beetle. All I found."

There was little to do, but what about the bodies they left behind? The idea hit her.

"I'll check on the ones earlier, we don't want an incident of mortality in the central park."

Check the room before leaving, once more. Then check on the enemies we've met earlier. If any of them are alive, haul him back to our location. If not, search the tunnel.

She inclined her head towards Nicholas before leaving, "Try 'password'!"

Jenny shook it off and countered with her own punch to the schnoz.

Behold, turn forty-five!  I had to do some retroactive statuses.

At the UN Headquarters,
Agent Green made an educated guess as to whether he could go through a window, and nodded at the other hero.
"Yeah.  Just get me up there and toss me through a window or something.  I won't feel a thing, and you can come in right behind me through the gap. Sound good?"
"Alright then, let's go."
The Electrician grabbed Desmond and hovered up to the sixth floor.  With two small blasts Desmond shattered the window and cleared the glass away, and the two men entered the tower.
The last remaining Silver Hammer smiled at them from across a conference table and threw a pair of firecrackers, (2) (4) one of which the Electrician stepped on and the other one of which went off and knocked him back.  The man grinned and ran down the hallway behind him, slamming the door in their face.

Current Status: Chasing
Spiked Chain Ganger: [subdued]
Scythe Wielder: [deceased]
Claymore User: [subdued]
Firework Worker: [healthy]

At Central Park,
Agent Fortmüller tried a few common passwords, ready to brute-force it if necessary.  [5] "Password".  That was the password.  The computer was extremely old, and had only a few folders on the desktop: "TOP SECRET PLAN", "attention important", "games", "New Folder", and "porn".
Agent Reon straightened up from her entomological survey and scanned the room again, quickly.  It was a room.  She then headed back up to where the bodies were, but the SWATs and EMTs had already dealt with them.

Current Status: Inside a hidden tunnel
Sawed-off Uzi Guy: [subdued]
Chainsaw Man: [deceased]
Molotov Cocktail Dude: [deceased]

At Times Square,
Agent Conners continued fighting the man with the brass knuckles, [6+1] hitting him hard and fast, draining a bit of energy with each blow.  He fell unconscious quickly and eventually stopped breathing.
Agent Maxwell shook her head to clear it and countered against the harpoon gun guy, [1+1] but missed.  He loaded another harpoon into his gun.

Current Status: Fighting
Aerosol Flamethrower Thug: [deceased]
Harpoon Gun Goon: [wounded (broken left tibia)]
Sai Criminal: [subdued]
Knuckles and Shoes Gangster: [deceased]

Grapple with the last dude and drain him into unconciousness.

Jenny backs up Lisa, should she need the assistance. If not, she uncloaks and discharges the built-up energy.

Fireworks? Somehow that makes sense with these people, Desmond thought...

He moved to beat his way through the door, shield raised high.

Action: Kick down the door, pursue the thug. Lead the charge!

Ires entered the computer chamber to find Nicholas browsing through it, "Hey Nick, mind if I call you that? What password was it?" She strode nearer to look at what he was viewing and slowly smiles.

"Hey, try looking at the 'porn' folder! Thats where most people keep their secret files, um, not saying I'm with most people. Or have a computer, heh. The obvious ones might be traps for a computer this old. Nobody is stupid enough to label things 'TOP SECRET PLAN', that's too cliché!

But...how could there even be porn on an old computer? Hmm..."

Anyway, she leaves his side and practices her speaking prowess.

"Oh, and the SWAT and EMT teams got the three we...neutralized earlier."
