Traders and Sieges
« on: March 21, 2012, 11:45:20 pm »

What do you do with traders when they show up during sieges?

Will they hold it against you when they get slaughtered?

What to do?

I noticed in Civ Forge, it worked like magic.  Traders/Sieges, Traders/Sieges.

They would show up on different edges of the map, and (luckily) I had control gates to filter the traffic.

But, I'm wondering what the longer term effects are in the current version.

If a trader/liason dies, they blame you.

It'll annoy them somewhat if they lose liaisons or merchants, but that mostly just translates to that race sending smaller caravans in the future. If a merchant dies, the rest will also immediately run for the hills. If a diplomat dies, one that is sent to talk to your baron once you have one, it'll piss the foreigners off more and may spark a war.
