So I read through
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=102189.30and I see where some of the information by the posters is speculation, but I'm going to go through and try to confirm the truth between where the two main posters disagree.
I'm trying to edit my raws to fix the ugly combat bugs of:
Bludgeoning dwarves don't kill things and only warhammers work versus armor
Piercing attacks are utterly OP
Shattered bones means instant unconsciousness
Shattered bones don't result in death
Do you think I would fix my raws if I...
Increase the toughness of bones so that piercing attacks are unable to reliably shatter them
Increase the net force of all bludgeoning weapons so that armor is useless against them and they can reliably shatter the stronger bones
Make bones bleed enough that many shattered bones would bleed out quickly, but a few would not kill a dwarf fast enough to matter
Decrease accuracy of large bludgeoning weapons
In my head, that would make...
Piercing weapons deal high-bleed and moderate-pain internal wounds without breaking bones
Bludgeoning weapons deal high-pain and low-bleed bone wounds without internal injuries, but less accurate to balance
Slashing weapons would be unmodified, but probably less effective versus shattering bones and cutting off limbs, and still bad versus armor compared to the other two, just like real life.
