flying people, yea there annoying

so i got a crossbow men (who i train on my animals i tamed (Badgers)) and there really good (almost 3 are legendary (not enuff animals to train a squad of 10)) but theres a flying hostile mob came in during a seige (leader rides it), and i killed everyone of the minions, but when i set my crossbow to take the leader they can't shot him, he around 5 blocks in the air, doing nothing. glitch much?

I don't know.  flying invaders have different AI than other flying creatures I guess, however my marksdwarves have never had a problem shooting something a few z-levels in the air.

If you give them a kill order, they'll freak out because they can't path to the flyer.  If you instead station them where the flyer is, they'll take him down.
