I'm actually seeing them live tonight, along with another excellent US band and two of my favourite local bands. Probably the most excited I've ever been about an overseas tour.
The US bands in question are Windhand and Cough.
Doom. Very much doom. Hard to classify them further than that, but they are both extremely heavy whilst still having plenty of melodies.
Windhand also boasts an incredibly talented vocalist- not saying Cough's vocals aren't great, but the frontwoman of Windhand is an amazing clean singer.

Downloaded the discography of Unlucky Morpheus and that's all I've been listening to for a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXkL5YI6GFg&t=48

EDIT: I was looking them up on Youtube today, noticed an "Unlucky Morpheus [Official] video, clicked it and watched the video, then checked out the channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8i_QhOgsKw

There's only the one video on the channel and it was published *4 hours ago*. Seriously ... I've never been this current with anything, ever.

To Seek Congress With the Realms Beyond

Speak the vile words,
light thy fires high,
Careful not to err,
lest the gate opens wide
Prepare the sacrifice,
speak the seer's words

Call upon the Tetragrammaton

Grant passage through
the wastes beyond
Nor drown in the sea of spheres

Honour those lurking in the deep
Will they be sated by
my meagre sacrifice?

Traverse the Labyrinth,
and the levels in between
Where sanity erodes,
no man can bear to tread

The walls are wearing thing,
I can hear them
scream my name
Grotesque tendrils
reach for me,
I feel them tearing at my brain

I DENY YOU PASSAGE
THROUGH THE WASTES
CONDEMNED TO DROWN
IN THE SEA OF SPHERES

NO LONGER PLEASED BY
YOUR MEAGRE SACRIFICE
UNYIELDING POWER
SURGES THROUGH ME NOW

FEEL THE SKULL...

...CRUSH!

Here's Essence, a thrash metal band I'd recommend to any fellow metalhead out there. It's, in my honest opinion, really, really good.

Final Eclipse

Blood Culture

Alestorm released their new single today. It's, well, basically the same as every other single they've released. The music video is, uh, interesting. I'm just waiting to see if No Grave But The Sea For Dogs is as bad as they promised.

In better news, I recently found out about Persuader. The vocalist gives a very strong Hansi Kürsch vibe much of the time, but otherwise they definitely have a much different sound from Blind Guardian.

That's Death Throes of the Terrorsquid, which isn't recent. Perhaps you meant to paste a different link?

He says the future cannot be saved,
mankind is set in its evil ways,
he says "come with me, we'll fly away",
Cult of the Druid, we obey

Was going to share the above on the ol' Facebook, but in the end decided against that for reasons to convoluted and nonsensical to explain.
Enjoy! Discovered this band (Cybernetic Witch Cult) just recently, they are excellent!

Oh shit yeah, Blood Culture sounds rad!
Forgot to give it a listen until just now.

If Sabaton is ever playing in your area, I highly recommend catching them live. They put on a helluva concert in San Francisco this last week. Amazing crowd interaction, plus the band was super nice at the after concert meet and greet. Saw Leave's Eyes and Battle Beast as the warm-up bands, Leave's Eyes were pretty great while being new to me, so I'm going to catch more of their work. Battle Beast was rather underwhelming, but they've never impressed me much with any of their songs other than Speed and Danger.

Obligatory, ridiculously large, unscaled concert picture:

Corpse Light - Mother of God (album)

I've only listened to about a track and a half, but by the gods this is a beast of an album! Can't even remember when or where I heard (and heard of) these guys before or how I came to be following them on social media, but I'm glad I did. Excellent, epic doom. I'm digging it a lot.

I'll give you three guesses as to who investigators believe planted the fake news behind the Quatar crisis.

*ba**ding**tish*

The Russians are believed to be behind the fake news in Qatar.

I wonder if Trump even knows he fell for the bait.... Trumps impulsivity is working to their advantage.

Man, the whole Russia meddling and fake news meddling is blurring the lines between the AmeriPol thread and, well, pretty much every other region politics related thread.

Bloodthirsty Sydney-based crossover thrash motherfuckers Sorcery release new EP before disbanding like a bunch of absolute shitcunts.
Still a bloody fun listen, though, even if it seems I'll never get a chance to see them live for a second time. Their final show is in Sydney. :(

Cross Vault - The All-Consuming (album)

This is lovely. Emotive, thoughtful "classic doom metal" with beautiful clean vocals and a tonne of heart-wrenching melody.
Honestly, this cracks open about as many cans of feels as full-blown funeral doom, but it definitely doesn't fit within that sub/micro-genre at all - I'd say this is far more accessible, what with its entirely clean vocals and all. Give it a listen, I implore you. Especially if you're in need of cheering up.

Funnily enough, I found this band amongst a whole bunch of fliers I'd received with a patch I ordered ages ago, that I'd never really had much of a look at. This was the first of the bands advertised that I made the effort to check out, and they were definitely worth the trouble.

...Oh yeah, sorry for the double-post. Shit.
I've seen/listened to a lot of good bands lately, I hardly have the energy to link them all right now. Next time I do, though, I'll edit this post rather than triple-posting, don't worry.

Hello You, Thread.
Im going based off the name, but allow me to contribute.

Satyricon - Phoenix  Very clean song.  Very mellow for a metal band.
Satyricon - Commandp A more metal song by them.
The sign of the Trident ->  One of those songs you use to gauge how good your speakers are.  Or feel like you'd blow them.

Bolt Thrower - No Guts No Glory.  Slogging.

Tyr - The Lay of Thrym A very clean and crisp band.
Wings of Time. For a second song.

Rotting Christ - Non Serviam  I like the live version.  this one specifically.
Rotting Christ - Elthe Kyrie  Compared to the above, early song by them, this is much, much more refined.
Semigod  The absolute first song I heard from them - and fell in love with.

Less metal, I guess.  But the intentions are pure enough.
Powerman 5000 - You're Gonna Love it  their new album is quite decent.  These are the guys most famous for:
When Worlds Collide and feature
Top of the World

Pisskop's Reblancing Mod - A C:DDA Mod to make life a little (lot) more brutal!
drealmerz7 - pk was supreme pick for traitor too I think, and because of how it all is and pk is he is just feeding into the trollfucking so well.
PKs DF Mod!

Bolt Thrower are always good.

Listening to Morgion - Solinari for the first time just now, and it is immensely enjoyable. A forgotten gem of funeral doom/death doom. Well, not entirely forgotten, at least not by the guy who recommended it to me, clearly.
Somewhat similar in style to Disembowelment/Inverloch.
