Probably thats why they are used with pentagrams on covers of Satanic Black Metal albums.

Iron Maiden is probably my favorite at the moment, but my favorites change around pretty often. Been listening to the bands suggested here, and I've come to the conclusion that this thread is my home.

over my year or so of absence i developed a taste for stupid fucking IQ damaging brutal death metal.

it was hard chosing between crushing slam riffs and ever being allowed near a mortuary ever again but ultimately I think I made the right choice

My mother loves nightwish:P

over my year or so of absence i developed a taste for stupid fucking IQ damaging brutal death metal.

Funny, im developing it too, half year ago i didnt know how could someone listen to this, now i LOVE it, though lyrics of bands like Torsofuck are too ridiculously over the top. Im leaning towards brutal death in my songwriting nowadays too, with mix of Dying Fetus groove.

Pathology
Cerebral Bore
Cryptopsy (Old one of course)
Mortician

Ola Englund is a guitar sound god.

I disagree, while yes his videos do sound good, some of his tracks are too polished, and polish sometimes is a bad thing, like here:
Behemoth
Its still hard hitting, but imo the production takes away too much of grit and rawness, compared to this:
Mortician
This makes me headbang really hard. Its actually bass mixed with guitar, but its still very raw and hard hitting

Have gotten intoKalmah lately. The gate theory of drugs works in metal; when I began listening to metal it was power metal but then I wanted more and now I'm here.

Thats great, vocalist sounds almost like Jeff Walker (Carcass), and its overall Heartwork-ish. Also, yes the gate theory works here, i used to listen only to Rammstein and now i listen to slam and death metal.
Anyway, my favorite Behemoth song from Zos Kia Cultus:
As Above, So Below
