Well, it sounds like our finances could use a boost. I suggest trading ports.

Well, the Welsh seem to have won the poll, so sucks to be them.

Right, the Welsh are currently down to one province, with a full stack in it. The province isn't able to support the stack, but only barely, so the Welsh are slowly hemorrhaging money (assuming that they have any left after what I've done to them). But I'm not here to talk about the Welsh finances. Now, I can either land our army in Cornwall and end the Welsh's pitiful existence, or take the dwarfy approach and smash the Saxons to get to the Welsh from inland. I mean, look at this:

It's only like they're spoiling for a fight. Anyways, can I get a quick show of hands for whether we should eliminate the Welsh now, or go after the Saxons and crush two factions one after another.

I say finish off the welsh. If we leave them for now, then that stack'll cause us major problems when our army is away.

The stack is in Cornwall, the little green tip to the southwestern part of England. The Welsh also happen to have exactly zero ships. The only way that they can reach us is if they decide to rampage through the Saxons, which would only benefit us. Also, any ships they make would be rapidly destroyed by our superior navy. So really, they pose exactly zero threat to us right now.

Let's take out the Welsh. We can surround and grind them down.

This.

Also, on the mercenary thing, I'd be perfectly happy to wait for the necessary funds, thank you.

The Welsh are defeated, and I am a much worse/better general than I thought! I'll be writing the turn up now. Also, a 1:3 kill ratio is much better than it seems.

Important Welsh Titles:

Also: Berserkers can be scary, if used correctly. I sent them against a group of archers in Guent (supported by spearmen to protect against arrows, of course). They killed 56 archers, gained two valour and had only one death (and even then I'm pretty sure that the one guy just got overly enthusiastic and accidentally stabbed himself). During the battle I could have sworn that I saw one guy kiting four archers too, they were that badass. However in Cornwall I had them slogging it out in the trenches (For some reason, I can't remember why) and they barely killed anybody, while taking seven causalities themselves. Hmm... Maybe I ought to start using them with the Viking Raider Cavalry, since they seem to kill archers faster than they can (oh the irony).

I should be King of Man, so that I can properly lead our forces against the Northumbrians.

And it sounds cool.

Prince of Dyfed sonds like a cool title, not that there is anything or anywhere important actually there...

That it does. Since hostergaard doesn't really seem to want to hand titles out, it's yours.

Prince of Dyfed sonds like a cool title, not that there is anything or anywhere important actually there...

I hope you enjoy having it. I also hope that you enjoy commanding a unit of archers, because we need them desperately.

I'd like some prince if I can.

Sure thing. I thing that the next-in-line to the throne is a Prince Ragnar, so it all kinda fits together.

Also, I laugh at how the Saxons are tied with the Northumbrians in the poll. Don't worry, we'll deal with them afterwards. Once they kill the Mercians they'll have no other nation to attack anyways (which means that we're kinda on a timed mission against Northumbria. Lovely).
