someone gave me a helpful answer while i was trying to leave a candy suit for my adventurer.

the easiest way to go about this (at least from what i've tried) is just to leave the good in whatever shop they are made in. they will stay there and you don't have to worry about scattering.
you can see what goods are in the workshop by using "t" on them.

hope this helps you as much as it helped me.

the real trouble comes in spawning somewhere near to your abandoned fort :P

Yeah, just leave them in the workshop and they'll stay put. Well, unless it's an artifact, in which case you'll have to put it into a bin if you want to leave the site with it.

Don't forget to leave a few pieces of adamantine cloth to wrap around the hands of your adventurer along with gauntlets and mittens. Every little bit helps.

I guess that doesn't work with a raised bridge?
No, raised bridges don't keep items from scattering.

I've been trying to come up with a vault design but none of mine are working. Constructed walls don't break (or push down) when a natural wall is dropped on them. Not sure how Slowpoke has achieved this.

I think he had constructed walls collapse by use of lever'd supports.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Should note lead bins don't scatter. At least it didn't in my most recent fort Reclaim. They exactly were as they are when I abandoned. I've heard some people say that lead bins might scatter, but NO WHERE near as far as other things.
However, whether the items inside are retained inside the bins.. I've yet to find out. I was so ticked off that I couldn't walk into my fort despite the drawbridge being down that I ragequited.

Some bug, I think. I will try to reproduce it and submit it to the bugtracker if I can.
