I figured an extra regiment because then i would be able to take some casualties if i had to fight for land (I mean against bandits, after all i'm going for unclaimed lands to settle)

But if you really think its a bad idea then i might upgrade them into something else, maybe Cavalry?

In any case do i have permision to play?

You need ducats to settle "unclaimed land", no matter how you look at it.

Rather than a second regiment, starting with a "surveyor" specialist might be more useful. They provide a bonus (or prevent a negative) to land-claiming rolls, if I recall correctly.

On reflection, a 2nd regiment won't be so bad. You'll still need to find a way to pay their upkeep in 2 seasons. Which isnt a lot of time.

Personally, ThatKid has the right idea. If your aim is to settle land. A surveyor would likely be the most helpful

From an optimization point of view, I'd go with Tiruin's suggestion, dump the elvish heritage and add a ducat in its place. You will then have to convert wild land parcels into one open land parcel; fairly feasible if you get good rolls.

The other side of that is that expansion rolls are made twice a year. So if you fail the first time, you cant try again for another season.

Main idea
Name: Dracius Magnus
Background: Coming from the Island of Dracodia where the Dracodians reside (That what they call themselves) Dracius Magnus has worked his way up from the lowest class of society to a resonobly trusted and somewhat rich noble, however, one day a human ship crashed on their shores and brought with them knowledge of what has been going on in the mainland, the ruling counsul soon saw an oppertunity and decided to send Dracius out to discover the lands of the humans, he is tasked with spreading the 'true religion' to the humans and establishing a colony for dracodians there, Dracius sets out after empting most of his treasury to colonise this 'New world' and soon finally sighting land near where the humans call 'the province of Korthias' and sets off after the unclamed land next to in, he intends on giving this colony a good founding as well as establishing good diplomatic relations with the nearby kingdoms, but the province comes first and Dracius will ensure it is founded by any means possible, even if it means spilling blood
Equipment: 1 personel guard regiment, 1 infantry regiment
Ducats: 1
Skills: Surveyor
(Forgot to put in elven heratige last time, oh and they still consider themselves a different race but instead they are really Human instead of really Elven)

Surveyor isnt a skill, its a Specialist unit...but since they cost 3d to recruit normally, i may allow for 'surveyor' as a skill instead

Given how CG has yet to voice his approval, no. I do not believe your character will be denied though, it is just  an standard procedure.
