You get nothing for free. So why would you have the means to produce goods, and basically print money? Try asking questions instead of expecting everything to be explained to you.

Guess I gotta sell my gunpowder , then use that money to make guns.. then.. sell the guns so.. I can make gunpowder.. for.. the guns...?

Can I sell the gunpowder in batches instead of in bulk and thus make more money then I would just selling it but at a much slower pace?  Or would that be to complicated to keep track of?

in theory you could, but it would be harder. a single 'unit' would likely be burnable on the open market for around twice what it cost to make it

weapons cost around 4d/unit to buy and about 2/3 that to manufacture without proper facilities (half price with)

Why not ask for patronage? Go to any city, present yourself and offer them gunpowder in exchange for materials and pay.

Q: How much does it cost for engineer upkeep?
Q: (pretty sure thisone's on the wiki but...) How much does it cost to start up a business(service).

Sky, the answer to your first question is 1d I believe. I'm pretty sure that's the rate for all specialists.
The cost to start a business depends on the business. I know Service Businesses are 3d to start, and 3d to raise size. I think Commercial is the same.

1d/size
I'm pretty sure it's by year, not season.

FYI King, if you don't plan to be around and at least attempting to affect the world - you wont be around. People have been warned about trying to solo-play before

There is no 'upkeep' on specialists, generally they dont exist long enough to matter. They're usually consumed by something else (Siege weapons, Universities, dying)

1d/size
I'm pretty sure it's by year, not season.

3d/size to build, 1d/size/yr gained, service are intended to be used for faster specialist training - so you generally have to pick a type of specialist

You're Charlescomm's pet mage, whether you know it or not :P
