For the record: Gunsmithing was never, ever illegal. What your guy previously did (I understand he's the guy I bought a gun from early in the game) was illegal at that time but it wasn't not because he made firearms, it was because he was smuggling them inside the city while there was a ban on arms. That was illegal, but the ban on arms has been removed long ago (it only lasted one season) and you decided to no longer smuggle things.

Yeah okay, that makes sense.  I was getting all of my information from the seasonal updates, so that was either missing or I simply missed it, or didn't realize the implications at the time.

Still going with the he thought it was illegal, so what my character did makes any sense, even if.. it doesn't.

Not really, I can BS something if needed though

Well it's not necessary at the moment, we'll see how the talking with guards rolls go. Maybe they'll let me go with a warning, maybe they'll take me in, maybe I have to bribe them but they let me go, maybe they just try to kill me*shrug* I left it open.

Technically no, but you just keep doing with it. Yes, you can just walk up to city guard for a conversation, because its assumed they're not exactly hiding. But honestly, what would make you think you get to dictate BOTH sides of the conversation? especially one you have an expectation of an outcome for?

I dictated both sides of the conversation all the time in YAK 1, granted that was with characters I pretty created anyway.   Which I technically created the guards.  Really it's cause I like writing dialogue.  I left up what they do, to you though, actions that matter are up to you, pointless bickering between me and some npc's is just something I do, I always do it.  And since no one brought up the fact that I was clearly hiding something, then what was I suppose to do for my next turn?  Not talk to the guards? my first line would of been "So it's not illegal?" then I'd have to end my turn and wait for a response I already know?  Seems like a waste of time.  I'm just giving a push, the outcome is 100% based on rolls.

Hell they don't even seem to know what they are talking about, so they could be hoodlums in disguise thus completely ruining "whatever I was expecting the outcome to be"

I don't see how me doing the dialogue between the two npc's for the outcome of am I going to get arrested for anything?

is any different then simply writing out do something to get arrested.

Just a heads up, but apparently going to Ligoria is maybe suicidal at the moment because of a lot of anti-Hatcuri sentiment. And also the gates are locked, iirc, so the only way out would be through the docks. Though I don't know if said locked gates are guarded...

Thanks for the heads up, but it'd be metagaming if Azkhael were to know that the gates are locked. I am still going to Ligoria though, Polca is far too inflammable at the moment, and I stand a fair chance of gaining an audience through the information I bring. I should be fully covered by my garments, but the gate guards would notice it while questioning me, hence, I may have to attempt that magic check again, even if I risk dying for good.

Shootandrun, could you do the necessary rolls?

Would the guards more likely than not search me if I were to appear bringing news about Polca or would they grant me the audience forthright? If the later, I will probably have to keep trying to cast the spell until either it succeeds or I die.

Also, getting two 1s in four rolls strikes me as bad luck... At least it wasn't a 6 in Power.

Guards are actually more likely to just stab you on sight due to being a Hatcuri actually. And for all they'd care, A hatcuri did it :P

That's... Not true. There is alot of racism in Ligoria but you wouldn't be killed at sighted or anything like that.
