Seems like an interesting game. Can I join?

I often play mages in roleplaying games, or traders. Was thinking about some business guy with an inborn but untrained talent for magic?
And yes, I read the rules about magic and it being hard, dangerous and socially not much accepted. Meaning, it's something he rather keeps hidden and gets under control before weird things happen anyway.
The job of my character: Herbalist/Apothecary/Physician (healer, using mostly homegrown herbs but also knows 'advanced' healing techniques)

Suggestions are welcome, of course.
Never played this kind of (forum) game, so not too sure about the rules-side of it yet. So if you guys could tell me if this is even possible? Then I'll work on name, background and description.
Any suggestions for location?

You're always welcome back Mice, you know the drill on characters. Truthfully its up to you if you think you have the time to sink, if not maybe bend your character to something passive and less in the foreground than before if you still want to play.

Limitations
A player may train as many skills as they wish with the following limitations Any training rolls made for a 3rd skill would suffer a -1 Dice Malus. Training would therefore be done at 4 rolls per season instead of 5. This malus also applies to the further training of skills already learned. Elvs, given the cost at character creation associated to being one, increases the limit to 3 skills instead of 2.

Does this also extend to Hatcuri? It does cost a ducat to start as one.

Name: Selim ey-Daxart
Description: Female Xartell elv. She appears to be around 20 or 30 years of but is actually in her 140th year. She has transparent hair, is almost blind. Her hair is short and boyish Her skin is pale after years inside. She wears heavy grey robes and a veil, hiding her features. The robes are simple and plain, but tough. She has a small sacrificial dagger on her body....somewhere. 
Background: Selim was born into a Xartell commune on the eastern coast of Omat-Ebect. She was born into a life of worship and study. The monastery itself was located just an hours travel from the city of Ebbom, a port often visited for its glassworks and annual turtle migrations. Even so, she didn't leave the monastery much, the abbot and her family was protective, only allowing her to travel to the city during religious festivals. Of course, this didn't mean that she was totally isolated. The monastery often received guests and pilgrims going to and from Ebbom. She listened to the tales and stories of visitors, always wondering more about the world. During her twentieth year, she actually tried escaping...and then quickly returned back after finding out that you have to pay for food. Eventually she decided that the outside world was not meant for her and dedicated herself to the study of the holy books and the worship of the gods. Eventually however, a merchant came from the north, saying that he had went beyond Hatcur and into the lands of humans and made a fortune. Her old feelings reemerged and for the rest of his stay, she questioned the man about everything on his journey. Being a responsible adult by then, and having learned her responsibilities, she excused herself from the monastery with the excuse of religious pilgrimage and made her way north, traveling along the old roads. She wandered around the roads of Hatcur for nearly a decade, living of alms and helping with rituals. Eventually she reached the northernmost city on Hatcur, Elberat. There she met up with the merchant she met a decade ago, and after some haggling, bought herself a place on the ship to the human lands. In their tongue, Proper, they called it the Storm Coast.

Name: Jaberil
Description: Hatcuri with reddish brown skin. Wears a tunic and often has a walking stick. He carries a satchel and has a long, intricate tattoo covering much of his tail. His eyes are dark and deep. Has a foldable bow and a pack of arrows. Within the satchel are some writing materials.
Background: Jaberil was born to a family of nomads in the Urili plains, just north of Omat-Ebect. He didn't stay with them long though; the tribe was raided for slaves when he was 8 and he was one of those taken. From there, he was sold at a slave auction in Auratet, where he was bought by the noble Avart Dejialyt. He was trained as part of the noble's private army, specifically as a scout. He learned the ways of the land and how to escape and hide. Interestingly, Avart had also had taught in writing and reading, part of his organization reforms. For two good centuries, he served in Avart's forces, scouting out enemies and recording what he had saw. He even forgot about his origins overtime and became loyal to Avart. Eventually, Avart's power over the region increased until he was practically poswa(equivalent to duke) of the region, only missing the title. Of course, Avart had destroyed many lives in his conquest and eventually he was assassinated by his enemies, leaving his lands to fend for themselves. At first Jaberil decided that he should continue to serve the house; Avart's brother had taken control of Avart's forces. But soon enough, Jaberil saw that his new leader was weak, and ftscaped his rule and let. He served as a mercenary, fighting all over southern Hatcur, even becoming a commander of a mercenary regiment for a time. Eventually, at the age of 468, he decided to retire. He was tired of fighting. He chose Oritzteten as his resting place. He bought himself a home and a small fishery and enjoyed life for a time, often visiting the temples and libraries of the city. He would even listen to the lectures, especially those about war, trade, and exploration. Eventually he heard about the Inqia, a new association that sought for Hatcur to be powerful and united once more, as well as opening relations with foreign land. He was amused at first, but he joined eventually. He found it interesting if idealistic. Also very theoretical; not much action beyond the lecturing and petitions. Not much about unity and even less about these foreign lands. That is when he decided that he needed to act. He thought that unity would require much bloodshed...and Jaberil was tired of that. So he decided he was best put to use in these foreign lands; he was trained for this after all.

Elvs are "Enhanced" humans. So no, Hatcuri aren't Elvs.

They are not elvs per say, they are their creators. Hatcur's old Emperor happened to like playing at being God with magic.

Name: Eurika
Description: A woman in about her mid-twenties. She is on the attractive side, and has silver wavy hair that reachs just past her shoulders. Her body is small - perhaps five feet four tall (164 cm). She wears nondescript clothing made of normal cured leather, and a white cloth robe.

Background: She is from near Vasir. Eurika accidentally used minor magic in a little populated town and was forced to run. Thankfully, none of the townspeople decided to hunt her, or at least they probably didn't, to the best of her knowledge. She travelled to Polca, as far to the east she could go without going through large swathes of wildland to seek refuge.
