"I'm not here to kill you, milord. I have heard rumors of an uprising here. Caused by a preacher named "Aurelius".
I thought i could help you. I just reached Polca, but a few days ago, on the sea, i looked at someone in the sea over in the distance. He was swimming nord. And while he was swimming, i saw a strange blue light, giving him speed. After i arrived here, i heard that the uprising, the position of the man and his speed perfectly matched out.
And so i concluded that the man was Aurelius.
And i'm willing to track him down and remove him from the community.
In return of some payement of course."

"He's in Shola, being followed by one of my agents...or something. I dunno, she hasn't killed him yet...and I'm pretty sure he wasn't that powerful to maintain a spell long enough- since he would have fried me when he had the chance -to get from Polca to Shola...or swimming...since I saw him get on a boat."

"As ever, William, the choice is up to you. However I think that it is especially fitting that a witch who sought to corrupt the Church of Talos (as rife with folly as their views may be) be punished by the flames, and the people will certainly take kindly to the acknowledgement of their faith's practice. If we stoke the fire quickly and surely enough, he will hardly have time to scream."
"Chopping his head off and then burning the body and the head atop a metal pole would work...I would have done it to the real one- with Kyrite laden chains of course- right after the public chain-flogging...Hm...Know any good ways to sever the spinal column without causing death, Terryn?"

Hire the crew and head to Ligoria, but warn them of trying to pirate from any major nation...and to try and keep the atrocities to murdering and burning from now on.

"I am afraid I do not, but if this is the course you intend to take I shall order my men to begin constructing a platform from which to stage the execution. If we have our men form up on the ground before it, nobody should be able to get close enough to see the truth."

He pauses, gazing at the man on the floor. "Also, I've a small request, if you will hear me out? The riot left a large number of orphans in the city. I would procure 3 ducats from you with which to create an orphanage and schoolhouse to house them, and ensure they do not become a part of the criminal element."

-Have the Thornbred gather wood and building supplies from the buildings that were burned down during the riot, and use them to construct a large wooden platform during the raid. It should be high enough that the general features of those on it can be made out, but that people won't be able to tell that, say, the look-a-like is not Gavin.

"Thank you for your time and assistance Cain. I'll likely be needing it more in the future. Good day to you." And with that, Laythe left Cain's manor and headed back to her accomodation.

Apparently, as well trained as Cain's men are, their attempts to gather the information you requested were child's play. You owe Cain 3d for the info (a slight discount), but once paid it'll be assumed that names, locations and disposition of Ligorian forces are known to you for at least through the following season (Autumn). Granting a +2 to tactics pools used for this, and the following season.

Bring the journals which kept records of jobs dead wizard performed for 'investors' to Cain. Keep the plant research notes. Set out to Shola market and ask around antiquarians and curiosity merchants for arcane books.

[?65] Cain is happy to have the records turned over to him, not that you had much use of them anyway. He offers to pay you a ducat for your findings in the lab, or at least copies thereof. The Library of Shola would benefit from past research, especially that of failures with an end result like Ciruin's lab...

((Will roll this when File replies to it))

Hire the crew and head to Ligoria, but warn them of trying to pirate from any major nation...and to try and keep the atrocities to murdering and burning from now on.

[5] They claim to be trying to put most of the piracy behind them and take more passive actions in the seas. Several island nations have been getting touchy about piracy as of late, and they want no part of it.

Include a deal with the Merchants after agreeing to continue work with them and to head to Veruna.

[?3] The merchant agrees to help you find a trainer and will support your training with your cut of the pay on the route. In terms of business, you'll be able to discuss some of the smaller details with him on the journey.

Agree to Cain's proposal and take the 1d. Prepare copies for university library. Also, look through the library books for metallurgy and alchemy books.

Await any further commands from Av and continue with the journey if they are all finished with their business.

Lan considered the notion of buying her own plot of land somewhere along the Coast, preferably overlooking the sea, but that and the details of getting there could wait for the road - once she made sure that her contractor would make it to his destination. It was a dream for now, and a big one at that, but as her father told her years ago: it was well and good to plan ahead of all prospects, no matter how far-fetched they may seem.

She then wondered on how organized bandits actually were at this area, but decided to withhold the question from the merchants.

Eurika was bored. Every day, in and out, she had little to do.
She lazily wrote a letter to Laythe in a sloppy hand,

Quote from: Laythe
Something being?

-Ee

, then thought of the magic she had but rarely used. What might be the limits, restrictions, and possibilities of it?

Nothing to do but experiment. Since she didn't have much money to spare, she decided to first try with common rocks.

Acquire small pieces of various rocks, such as milky quartz, sandstone, random grey pebbles, loam, reddish rocks, iron ore, marble, granite, graphite.

She also wrote off a quick letter to Gavin:

Quote from: Gavin
Mind if I co-use your lab for a bit?

-Ee

Terryn's meeting:
"I am afraid I do not, but if this is the course you intend to take I shall order my men to begin constructing a platform from which to stage the execution. If we have our men form up on the ground before it, nobody should be able to get close enough to see the truth."
"Also, I've a small request, if you will hear me out? The riot left a large number of orphans in the city. I would procure 3 ducats from you with which to create an orphanage and schoolhouse to house them, and ensure they do not become a part of the criminal element."
William actually looks surprised.
"An orphanage and schoolhouse? That's actually pretty surprising, right there...Strange enough, I wasn't expecting that. If there's enough in the treasury then...sure. Although I hope you don't mind if Lizzy assists in overseeing it. "

After waiting more than enough time for a well thought letter to arrive, Eurika wrote another short letter.

Quote from: William
Really, do you have no financially secure/confident allies?

--Ee

She continued her daily rock collecting.

Pay off Cain's bill.

A note was sent to Eurika later that day...

Quote
Eurika

It's a big task though. I'm expecting you to ride alongside me travelling down south, towards Ligoria.

[31] You find the material easily enough with some help of a steward, but as suspected, most of the information is rather basic.

Await any further commands from Av and continue with the journey if they are all finished with their business.

The journey back to Veruna will take until Autumn, so if there's anything else you want to complete before then go ahead. Otherwise Autumn should be rolled up soon.

Acquire small pieces of various rocks, such as milky quartz, sandstone, random grey pebbles, loam, reddish rocks, iron ore, marble, granite, graphite.

[636] What you're looking for is easily found and in quantities enough to support most anything you'd like to do.

Pay off Cain's bill.

Disband all hired ships (AKA cargo ships and escorts), Give orders to the Ligorian ship to stay put, then head on an intercept course towards the Ligorian army with everyone (Hyte, Eurika, engineers, all regiments and Laythe's doctor.), send a messenger ahead of the main force requesting a meeting with Alaria.

While packing part of her supplies, Lan decides to pay a visit to Av. "About the discussion earlier, where were you planning to hire extra aid? Mercenary Companies?"

Question on the 'extra help' for the trip.
