The bandages stopped what bleeding there was, Roland sat back in his chair and sighed, "I think I have to work on my cover Gunther" he laughed under his breath before going into another coughing fit "Fecking candle stick toppled over when I got up."  He turned his head and stared a the hairless monkey sitting on it's stand, it's flesh full of scars only half healed even after all these years.  Roland has always wondered how his grandfather made him like that, but he was never told, and neither was anyone else.
*BANG BANG*

"Heh? I don't remember expecting visitors.. I never expect visitors, Gunther did you invite someone over?" He turned and asked the homunculus half serious.  The monkey only shrugged. "Don't lie to me Gunther!"

*BANG BANG*

Gunther scampers off as Roland heads towards the door, mumbling under his breath.  He opens the door.

"Yeah what do you..."  The visitors were a pair of guards.
"Sir, we heard an explosion coming from this establish..."

*SLAM* *CLICK* *SLIDE* *CHUCK*

"Gunther!"  Roland began to rummage through the drawer next to the door, "Gunther were in all hell is my pistol!?"  The monkey appeared at the top of the stairs with it holding it clumsily in it's tiny arms. "Good boy!  Give it to me!"  The monkey nods excitedly as it tosses it down the stairs were it lands upon the ground and goes off shooting through a window after grazing Roland's cheek.  Roland puts his hand to his cheek and stared at the small trickle of blood on the tip of his fingers, he then looked up at the humonculus.  Gunther stared back down at his master, then quickly scampered out through an open upstairs window.  Roland ran to the foot of the stairs and grabbed onto the banister yelling up towards his compatriot.  "You better run you flea ridden sack of meat!  Cause when I find you.. when I find you I will kill you, I don't even know if it's even possible to kill you, but I'll find a way Gunther!  I'll FIND A WAY!   GUNTHER!

As soon as he finished yelling the guards finally broke down the door and drew there weapons.

"Heeeeey.." Roland said quietly as he raised his hands above his head.

Eurika sniffed the air. It was not the sharp tang of burning wood, nor did it burn. Fog, probably. Magic, certainly. No reason a huge amount of water vapor would materialize in a mansion without it. She looked at the mass of running people, looking in vain for a certain man. Her bird had fled the cage. Oh, well. She was going to propose a mutually beneficial agreement soon, too. Let her go with him, and in exchange she help him do whatever he does. Of course, she couldn't take off like that - there was the existing contract with William, for starters - but being in a single city for so long was boring. Gavin Aurelius, was it? Maybe they would meet again, somewhere, sometime, in the large world.

Maybe next time, she'll return the slight and stab him somehere that hurts.

Eurika turned from the window and stifled a laugh at her previous thought. Where would it not hurt?

Eurika is given a command to tell the people that an assassin, using black magic, made an attempt on William's life, which he survives, soon after William leaves. She is also to say that William has gone after the Assassin. The Manor is to be blocked up in an attempt to control the fog, once everyone is safely out.

William sneaks out of the Manor wearing a thick mask, a spare set of armor, and a spare blade. He heads towards where the Old Lord is staying. Then he does a quick scout of the place, trying not to arouse suspicion.

Laythe organizes her Cavalry to start sweeping the city in search of Gavin, instructing them to stay in large groups whilst doing so. Gavin is to be taken alive preferably, but killing him on the spot is acceptable.

Lord's Garden:
"Then I assume this meeting is finished for now? Untill you are ready to send me off to plague lands. In the meantime I will arrange matters here so I can leave my recurring patients in good care while I am away. If you happen to be in need of healing in the meantime, you know where to find me."

"Of course. Have a good day...You know the way out."
Ienden nods politely, stands up and leaves. At the door he collects his equipment before returning home.

He managed to slip out and hide among the poor of the city. No doubt William and his ladies were on the lookout. But he was glad that he was still in great shape, although he would have to think of a way to improve his spellcasting.
It was hard to keep people around for spells, and his own energy could power only so much..... Unless he mananged to amplify it somehow. Or overcharge himself. Or if he trained properly, like the old man Ulrik taught him. but who would do that?

He caused enough bad rumours in the city, starting from the burnt down inn to the blessing to the fog in the manor. Not to forget about the terrible rumours from the south. Polca was thouroughly under the spell of panic and superstition, something that Gavin could thrive on. His display did not go unnoticed, so he was hoping for a positive fedback from the populace.

The patrols were large, armed, but noisy and ungraceful. Hiding from them should not prove hard, especially if the help of the locals is to be enlisted....

Remaining hidden, organise a den in the poor section. Start preaching in secret, calling the recent string of bizarre events a sign of things to come, especially against the sinful and oppressive authorites.
Procure some religious texts of Taloisism, either by asking those who come to sermons or by proxy purchase. Try to form a a secret sect under the name of "Golden Brotherhood".
Keep collecting money from the preaching if possible.

Do what William told her to do (like a good gi- employee) - and also head out in her usual garb and ask around for a certain preacher. Gavin.
Hopefully her usual attire (white robes over light armor) would suggest a religous person.

[So, apparently I'm a minor GM. Since people were bored, I rolled stuff.]

Laythe organizes her Cavalry to start sweeping the city in search of Gavin, instructing them to stay in large groups whilst doing so. Gavin is to be taken alive preferably, but killing him on the spot is acceptable.

[1] Your men fail to find Gavin. However, the population is alerted by their presence that something is going on. Some of the brightest citizens are wondering whose troops these men are, and a few start talking about the Lord letting foreign forces inside the city without talking about it to anyone. Of course, they are not pleased. [-1 to rolls for the population's reaction.]

Eurika is given a command to tell the people that an assassin, using black magic, made an attempt on William's life, which he survives, soon after William leaves. She is also to say that William has gone after the Assassin. The Manor is to be blocked up in an attempt to control the fog, once everyone is safely out.
Do what William told her to do (like a good gi- employee) - and also head out in her usual garb and ask around for a certain preacher.

[2-1+1] The citizens are not satisfied with Eurika's explanation at all. A taloist priest starts shouting about heresy in the Lord's Manor, and within a few minutes a riot is starting. Half the mob appears to be convinced that William caused the fog using black magic, and the other half are only there because there is probably good loot inside the building. [5] Despite the fog and the angry citizens, Eurika manages to get back into the manor without suffering any harm, but now she cannot leave. William's guards are trying to control the crowd,[3] and they manage to stop the mob from getting inside, but they don't have the necessary numbers to make them scatter. However, [4] some of Laythe's knights quickly learn about the fighting and start rushing towards the manor. Only a few of them will be needed to chase the mob, thankfully. As soon as they will get here, the angry peasants will no doubt return to their homes.

Unless Eurika finds a way to leave the manor despite the angry mob, she will be blocked inside for one turn. Since only a few knights are needed, Laythe can still use her cavalry.

William sneaks out of the Manor wearing a thick mask, a spare set of armor, and a spare blade. He heads towards where the Old Lord is staying. Then he does a quick scout of the place, trying not to arouse suspicion.

[5] You find all the need equipment and you sneak out of the manor without a problem, before the crowd starts getting angry. It takes you only a few minutes to reach your destination. The Lord's Manor is [1] very heavily guarded by multiple mercenaries. There are guardsmen around the building and even a few crossbowmen at the windows. Any attempt to make a frontal assault would result in an unpleasant but very quick death. However, [4] you spot a window on the first floor that is not guarded by anyone. You could try entering using that way. [4] You think it leads to the kitchens, which are near the Lord's study. [2] You cannot see a thing of what's going on inside, so it's impossible to know if there are servants in the room.

You manage to remain hidden without a problem - no patrol ever made it near your den. There's alot of agitation in the city, and you can use that to remain undercover, for now. [3+1] You start preaching about the sins of the Lord and his crimes against Polca, and you are generally well received - mainly because the populace is unhappy with some of the Lord's recent actions, and the events in the manor prove that something magical (and, by definition, heretical) is going on in that building. You manage to find [2] no religious texts - no one is selling any, and the priests don't think you are a real preacher at all. [3-1] Because you do not have any texts, you fail to create your secret sect. [1] And apparently, people are willing to listen to your preaching, but not to give any donations for it. When you suggest that idea, most of your followers abandon you, viewing you as a simple charlatan looking for easy money.

Try to exit via the first floor window, making sure to wear my robe and hood. Also armor. Gotta not forget armor. Swords, too. And bag.

After that.,

- and also head out in her usual garb and ask around for a certain preacher. Gavin.

The knights are to continue searching, though in smaller groups while reinforcements go to the mob dispersal group. The mob is to be rounded up so that Laythe can give a nice talking to the mob. From horseback and in full armour, of course. ((I want to RP this talking segment, if possible.))

Get arrested for suspicion of producing firearms illegally.

You realize that the guards aren't going to arrest you, and that your headwounds may be a bit more severe than previously thought. Firearms production isn't illegal in Ligoria. Admittedly, if your cover was blown all you'd have is a lot of people fighting over your skills, or just plain trying to kill you for personal causes rather than trying to enforce a law that doesn't exist

((Just like to note that smuggling weapons into the city MAY be illegal, but that's the extent of a weapons ban in Ligoria))

I told you the nice guy act would only get so far before the stupidity of mankind proved you wrong. You know what you'll have to do...?
Yes.
Oh goodie, I was getting tired of not telling you what to do.

William heads towards the window, keeping to cover and takes a quick peek inside.

Agree to signing up for future work. Begin the guarding of the merchants as we move to Ligoria.

The journey to Ligoria is [6] eventful only in the passing of a few suspicious looking groups of men and women heading Northeast of Ligoria as you're entering. The merchants pay no mind to them, nor do the other guardsmen

[5] Work is plentiful, and while the merchants split their respective cargo up from the journey you're told it'll be roughly a week before they head back out. The merchants advise you to tour around Ligoria - just avoid the Ports and other obviously darker areas of Talama to avoid the various gangs.

Before they head off to secure new cargo and sell their current loads, you're given your pay - .[2] ducats - and told that future trips should be more profitable for everyone since most places aren't under the opression of bandits and raiders.

[6] You successfully escape the building by going through the first floor window... Alas, you decided to pick the one next to the door, and now you are surrounded by an angry crowd looking for someone to lynch. You'll do. [3+1] [1] Thanks to your natural charisma, you manage to convince them that they should not lynch you because you are one of the Lord's servant, and that you wanted to join them. One of the peasants places his dagger behind your back, suspicious, but soon most of them are no longer paying attention to you. Suddenly, a dozen knights arrive. The peasant behind you starts getting a little nervous...

The knights are to continue searching, though in smaller groups while reinforcements go to the mob dispersal group. The mob is to be rounded up so that Laythe can give a nice talking to the mob. From horseback and in full armour, of course. ((I want to RP this talking segment, if possible.))

[2] Your knights fail once again to find Gavin, mainly because there's alot of agitation in the city and they receive no support at all from the populace.
[6] Meanwhile, you and a dozen knights round up up the mob neatly - while they outnumber you by an enormous margin, most of them are unarmed and they all know that if they resist alot will be killed, so they decide to cooperate. The soldiers in the manor start getting out of the building to help you surround them. You recognize Eurika, who is in a dangerous situation - a peasant has a dagger behind her back, ready to stab her.

-Terryn and his men use the chaos of the riot and the cover of the magical fog to try and loot several businesses without being caught!

[3] [6] You manage to loot alot of businesses in the port without getting caught by any guards, but you are certain that alot citizens managed to identify your forces while they were looting. You collected [3 * 6 = 18] 1.8d, and [6] all the businesses that you raided were also burned to the ground, for good measure. This does not help your reputation, or the situation of Polca in general... [-1 to port size of Polca, -1 to the populace's reaction rolls]

William heads towards the window, keeping to cover and takes a quick peek inside.

[5][5] No one spots you while you are heading towards the window, and when you look inside, you see... Nobody. Apparently, this window doesn't lead to the kitchen, but to the hallway that leads to the lord's study. You hear some noise coming from that room, and you can see that the door is unlocked.
