"The torture room is always prepped, Eurika. Although I prefer to know what charges this man is charged with, if your taking the steps to torture information out of him."

Eurika inwardly winced at A's protests. She returned to two knees kneeling.

"First of all, he endangered me intentionally. Second, he isn't telling me his name. Third, he admitted to being a magic user. And finally... because I can. I think."

Eurika spooled off a list of true, but not criminal offenses.

"Also, sorry for that, Au...something. I didn't know your ribcage was so weak."

She looks down at Gavin's pained face.

"I am sorry to say that I did not hear much. I have been focussing on local jobs mostly. And most rumors are too vague for me to make any informed decision about these matters. Most people would not know the difference between one disease and another anyway. Unless you have been schooled in noticing the small differences. Are you expecting the plague to expand this way?"

"It has occurred to me it might...and I wish to prepare for that eventuality. And maybe...after that...fix it at it's source.
Also as it stands, most of my men lack medical and healing finesse, able to do quick patches, but failing to fight infections and the like. I hope to remedy this. But it seems there are few healers in Polca willing to train others and to provide healing if paid by the government to heal the common folk."

"I could teach some of the more capable and empathic people, if there is a need for it. I cannot promise that they will be able to handle any plagues though. It might be one that does not have a cure, there are sadly many things that cannot easily be healed."

William didn't take his eyes off neither of them.
"Eurika those are incredibly stupid things to arrest him for."
He leaned in, placed a hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear.
"Think of something else."
He stood back, then closed the door.
"In the meantime, get off his chest. As for you Aurelius, you're under investigation. You're not officially under arrest, but your not officially free. Come quietly and I won't use the handcuffs and muffle."

She cheerfully patted Aurelius on the back and replaced her weapons into her bag.

William looks slightly confused. He itches his forehead.
"All right then. That was...strangely easy. You three-"
He indicated his guards.
"Make sure Aurelius doesn't run off. We'll be heading back to the manor."

While walking there, Eurika poked William, respectfully (...was that even possible?).

"One of the chief reasons I tried to detain Gavin is because, some guy and his cronies were trying to get something out of him."

She described Terryn and his bodyguards.

"That would have been pretty fine, nothing suspicious yet, except the big man lied about where he came from. I suspect something's up."

Selim stayed in the library for yet longer, requesting much paper and ink. She knew what she was going to do now; make a catalog of every god in existence and also write down the customs of the clergy, if there is one, and what customs should be followed. Useful for any pilgrim really...And it would supply her with some money.
