Polca Plaza
A Guard, coming from the direction of the manor, taps on William's shoulder, and speaks in a foreign tongue.
"Við höfum upplýsingar."
"Raunverulega nú? Sem háð?"
"Þeir ræningjar."
"Ah. Mjög vel þá."

William holds his hands out, and the Guard produces some papers from his coat, hands them to William, then nods to him and the other guards, then walks off.
After a few minutes of reading, William normal grin twitches upward at the corners, making him look a bit scarier, then tucks the papers into his coat.

"Well, miss Eurika, it seems like these aren't some normal bandits...and I would like to deal with them myself...Sorry about that."

In Polca:

Laneira stretched her arms as she strode through the city, taking in it's splendor and beauty, the city was simple and archaic in her taste but she liked it nonetheless. Her orders to her men was to wait outside the city gates as she would personally handle the first steps of her work. The many thoughts of how to approach the situation crossed through her mind but she moved on with confidence. Surely there must be caravans needful of guards at this time. She ignored the stares of the people as she passed by another street, maybe this was the right direction?

"Qué lastima,"
Eurika sighed.

"I guess it can't be helped. I should find something else to do..."

Bloody hell, since when are people so inquisitive over this crap...

"Oh, my name is simply Aurelius. I am no noble or patrician. And I mention gods, for the Bright One has more than one face! There are many aspects, many ways, but the people of this city hear none of them! I mention meeting after the dusk, for not all can be revealed in open, least I be assaulted by the agents of darkness."
He casts an accusatory look in the direction of the nobleman and his guards.

Explain myself to the crowd and continue the preaching. Come sunset, go outside the city gates and wait to see if anyone bothered to follow.

"Well...actually, now that I think about it more, Eurika i'll still need your help. But this may be a bit more dangerous. We'll talk about it later."

"Hmm...I'll be coming with you, Aurelius Von Nutcase, after dusk, and my three guards will too. This is amusing to me."

"Dangerous, you said?"

Eurika reiterated what William told her a short time ago.

Lord's Manor's Courtyard.
"Well, yes. Most likely very."

"Were going to be escorting a chest filled with fireworks and gunpowder into bandit-stricken lands with the hope they'll take it."

"There is a high chance of being captured, in fact I'm hoping to be..."

Ienden Bohun was walking home from a visit to Clarice and Isaac Gladstone, who just expanded their starting family with little Brandon. He was thinking about the different people he helped just outside of the Polca city walls. The old Talbots often called him over due to their old age ailments, and they always paid him by cooking up wonderful meals in return. He felt really at home here, after some years of travelling. Yet there was this nagging feeling that things might soon change. He dismissed the feeling as he opened the door, he would be busy enough as it is. He had ordered and paid in advance for some rare herbs that he needed for his work. The merchant promised he would have them by now, so time to get them.
Ienden grabbed his backpack and stuffed it with some rations and his basic equipment, just in case someone needs help. Then he left his little cottage for the Polca market.

"I wonder how things will be there today..." he muses for a moment as he leaves the little village.

Arriving at the market, he notices the prophet and stands to listen for a moment to the conversation that is going.

-Terryn explains his plan: If possible, the fractured factions of the underworld may choose to compliment his regiment in any outright fighting. They are not required too, however. Instead, they will use their resources to create a series of disturbances throughout the city. Fires, murders, muggings, whatever they choose so long as it will draw the guard's attention. When the Guard Captain's forces are spread thin throughout the city, Terryn and his regiment will seek to catch him unawares whilst alone/almost alone at the barracks or while moving to one of the disturbances with lesser numbers. They will murder him. Should the gangs have any strength to bear for this portion, they may render aid there as well to ensure success. ((If we go straight into enacting the plan, I'd actually prefer it if we stopped rolling once the disturbances have happened, so I can try to better manage the whens and wheres of the attack on the captain))

The remnants have really only been able to hide as well as they have simply due to their lack of numbers. They could muster a single regiment worth of men if needed. They like to remind you that they were never as well established as the Thieves Guild in Ligoria is.

They await your orders to move.

((We're going to assume you came in by sea, or you'd know about the following!))

Your men head for the gates, much to the weary eyes of City Guard. Apparently the last time anyone came to town with any sizable force - leadership changed hands.

Your attempts to find work are, however, met in vain. Due to the recent raid on the city and the presense of the bandits attacking every caravan heading out of town - no one feels comfortable going anywhere without more than a single regiment of guards. The sadder fact of the matter is that most of these caravans don't carry enough value to allow for profit to be made. You may be able to find a few merchants who are headed the same way who'd get together to head out.

Explain myself to the crowd and continue the preaching. Come sunset, go outside the city gates and wait to see if anyone bothered to follow.[/b]

[32] A fair number of semi-skeptical people have decided to join you outside of town, included a few offduty members of the city guard. Who knows why they came, but some of them look drunk.

Shit, Problems have arose in Polca that need attending to, before I come to Ligoria. The Black Company, a band of mercs, and whoever hired them are the problems. I have my suspicions.

"Did you by any chance factor in the chance we'll be killed if we're captured? "
Eurika says in a rather reproaching voice.

The crowd looked fairly sceptical. Well, they shall remain sceptical no longer...

"Don't be scared! Don't be doubtful! even in the darkest night, there is a light and a way out! Follow me!"

Gavin started to walk towards a nearby wood, settling on holding his "show" in a middle of a small clearing.

"There are many people out there that claim to hold divine blessing, there are many that hold to claim the truth. But how many can claim to hold the hand of the divine and aks it for help?
Join your hands in a circle and let us join ain a prayer. Let us ask for a Bright One's blessing, to show us the way!"

What looked like a weird prayer was a clever trick, one of many that Gavin practiced over the years. By joining hands and having everyone do it in a circle, he right now was connected to the life force of eveyone in the circle. He could not ask for more energy if he could. and the spell he chose was subtel and small enough to not be significanlty felt by anyone. all he would do is channel the power that he was about to tap.
While everyone stood ina circle and started muttering the normal prayer of blessing to the Bright one, Gavin started uttering the words of a spell. A simple spell, but quite effective for a bunch of townsfok like these.

Using the life energy of the congregation, summon a ball of golden light that will hold over the meeting for a minute, and then explode in a shower of golden particles.

Keep me updated. My generals are apparently afraid of them - but they were also afraid of a bandit lord, so maybe the Black Company is a simple mercenary band and they're just guenine cowards. If you need military support, I can send regiments to Polca.

-Terryn and the Thornbred, along with the regiment of Thugs, set the plan into motion starting with a series of high-profile city-wide disturbances around dusk, at the Polcan underground's discretion. Terryn will discreetly provide up to .5d worth of funds for high-proof alcohol and matches, so that the criminal regiment may start fires at opposite ends of the city.

Sometime before that...

Using the life energy of the congregation, summon a ball of golden light that will hold over the meeting for a minute, and then explode in a shower of golden particles.

Terryn, Oswald, and a small number of his other brothers had gone to the meeting place at Dusk. Not because of any religious inclination, but instead simply because the man had professed to know something about the 'mage' rumors that had been circulating. It was quickly becoming clear that this was yet another dead end, no different than the story they had spent the day listening to about an artist who stole people's souls by painting them. The Hedge Knight sighed, impatiently tapping the pommel of his sword. "I suppose we haven't a choice but to play along," he muttered to Oswald through clenched teeth after a moment, making a quick and discreet circle with his left hand. He didn't feel that it mattered much that he was feigning worship of a false god, but it never hurt to pray.

With another sigh, Terryn loped up to the circle and took Oswald's hand in his, another of his Brother's in the other.

((Better not roll a 1 or 6 yo!

@CG: Feel free to hold off on The Plan(tm) until after Ardas' thingy is done. I mean, if I die from having my life-force drained I guess it doesn't matter anyways.))

Eurika watches the circle, but does not join. She never was interested in actually joining the cult, anyways. She had other motives.
