"And what qualifies you to judge faith in the Gods? How else am I to gain notice? Do you deny the troubles in the south or the sins of the people of this city? Have you heard about a sorceror that terrorized the port recently?
Age has nothing to do with being a servant of a higher power, and I only want to help! So listen, you of doubtful mind, land let be exposed to the truth of these words!...."

He turned to the people and resumed his preaching.

Polca Plaza
"Well lad, I'm not judging faith in the gods. I'm judging faith in you, you haven't even told us which religion you belong to. And you keep mentioning gods, plural, so it isn't The Faith of The Light. I'm also curious about your name, and from where you hail, since you ain't from Polca."
"Oh and I do have the right to judge you, comes from being one of the law enforcers in Polca and a citizen of it too.

Laythe's Quarters:
"Well alright then. Any orders for the spy?"

"Oh, the wicked of the city attack even here! Will man be ever spared thier terrible gaze, and allowed the freedom to speak to his brothers and sisters truly and openly?!
Oh dear Polcans, I weep for you for you have no freedom at all! If I were to tell you who am I or what I do, would you be satisifed?
He looked at the armed men. Nay, for their evil eyes and their sharp knives hunger for the blood of the godly men..."

Decry verbal attack on Gavin as act of sin. Keep preaching to the crowds and urging the "faithful" to meet him outside of the city at dusk.

Polca Plaza
William tilts his head to one side and gives the man a smile
"To right to ask you questions, just like you get the right to speak here. If I didn't give you those rights, I would have smashed you over the head with my billy club and hauled you off to sleep off that drink in my cells and for not answering a few simple questions. But I won't do that, because you have the right to speak, just like I have the right to ask you a few questions and make fun of you. Just because i'm the ruler of this fair city doesn't mean I don't get to do that."

Eurika smiled and nodded at the girl. She asked for a long sparring sword and a short sparring sword.

"Ready when you are, though it may seem unfair that I have two swords."

Eurika waits for the opponent to make the first move, wooden blades up and ready. The plan was 'fight normally, but if the two weapons were locked, tap with the dagger-length one.'

((Incidentally, how do you fight in Yak? xD))

-To Both: Terryn introduces himself as commander of the Thornbred Knights, and a Hedge Knight. He implies that he has a task at hand he would like to enlist the group's help with, but he does not outright explain his plan. He also adds that, should he succeed, the other people will benefit from having aided him (and will benefit in some small way even if they don't). Meanwhile, he fishes for information (re. who they are, what they do, any allies or enemies they may have) as much as possible while avoiding revealing information about his own plan or goals.

-Sometime later: Terryn and his men go bar-hopping, searching for information on this rumored spellcaster.

[56514] Both parties are receptive to any plans that make them profit of any kind and are willing to work with you, they do require some information as to what your plans might be, however. You manage a fair bit of the basic information about the groups. The Head of the Gilded Lilly is not in any rush to do anything to jeopardize her current situation with Polcan leadership. The gang remnants are all too eager to the point of nearly fault to stick one to the current Lord.

[366] Rumors they are, none of your men are fooled by the stories - which range from it all being a hoax to the manifestation of a demon that sucked the life from everyone in the room. You're sure he's still in town however at people claim to still see him, but given the variance to their stories and descriptions you also think they might just be crazy.
((I take this to mean that I am now aware of The Gilded Lily's association with William?))

-Terryn assures that Gilded Lily's associate that he will be in contact with further information shortly, and then ends the meeting.
-Terryn explains his plan to the gang remnants: The present Guard Captain is incorruptible, seeking only to do right by his job and bring justice to the city's criminals. Terryn wishes to kill him, so that he may be replaced by a Guard Captain who is more likely to have an...open ear to the cause of those who aren't on his side of the law. (Terryn intends to offer himself for the position, which is why I originally wanted to do these meetings privately)
Naturally, should this plan succeed Terryn will have more work to do that the gangs may be able to help him with, all of which will stick it to the man.

Oh, and also:

-Terryn, Oswald, Donald, and Ian, having heard of this young preacher's antics and his apparent claimed knowledge of the recent manifestation of magic, exit at the city at Dusk to learn more. This is considered just another part of the earlier investigation roll, and I don't know why it's bolded.

Eurika: Blades(+1), Armor(+1), Swordsmanship(+1).
Lizzy: Blade(+1),Armor(+1).

Spoiler: Rolls, Round 1 (click to show/hide)
Lizzy nods, then charges foward, she manages to dodge under the long sparring blade, but Eurika side steps and whacks her across the chest with the short blade.

Point for Eurika.

Spoiler: Rolls, Round 2 (click to show/hide)

Eurika follows up with a blow from the long blade to Lizzy's shoulder.

Point Eurika.

Spoiler: Rolls, Round 3 (click to show/hide)

Lizzy blocks the next blow from the long sword with her own, and elbows the short blade heading towards her side, then sidesteps nimbly.

Tie.

Spoiler: Rolls, Round 4 (click to show/hide)

However, Eurika takes the lapse of guard from Lizzy dodging and smashes the wooden long blade into her side.

Point: Eurika

"Well now. Good job Madami Eurika, Madami Lizzy. That'll be enough for. Eurika, you've passed I supposed. I was hoping to see you use "magic"...but I won't push it."

"Now then, would you like to stay in the manor with the rest of my men, or purchase your own house?"

"I think I'll stay in the manor, then. Eh... So if you don't have anything I'm needed for, I'll retire."

Eurika waits for an answer.

The journey had been long but calm. A blessing, at the very least. The crew had been accommodating enough, course they were suspicious of an Elv on the ship.

The ship had finally reached the Storm Coast; a quick stop on the merchant's route eastwards. Apparently the merchant intended to chart the lands to the east. Interesting yes, but this land was interesting enough. The city they had berthed at was Moun, a pilgrim's city. Selim could see the beauty in that. She bid the captain farewell, and disembarked. The city was filled with shrines and temples and statues of gods and martyrs. Nary a street nor square didn't have some kind of god protecting it or a preacher. It was...amazing if familiar. But she also felt a bit reviled at the city itself; along the temple grounds and under the gods themselves, merchants plied their wares and entertainers danced and sang! Why would these people do such sacrilege?

As much as she wanted to shout at them, she willed herself to move on. It wasn't her culture or city. Besides, she thought, some of the people were giving her odd looks. She was wearing garments that covered her whole body after all; it seemed few adopted that fashion here.

After some time of exploration, Selim decided to find out who ruled here. After some listening and questioning, she found out that the city was lead by a kind of cleric who...abandoned his religion? Something like that. She eventually found her way to his abode, and requested entry.

Go to the leader of Moun's abode (I forgot what he was called) and ask for a meeting.

Having nothing to do, Eurika entered her quarters.

She took her white robe off and slung it over a chair, and placed her heavy pack on a desk. She unpacked the bag, taking out many rations and empty bottles, a mass of corks and a tiny grass ship woven daintily, but now dry and crushed. She unearthed some coins and strew them anywhichway over the oaken surface of the desk.

'Maybe, someday, I'll be able to forge an actual one... I'll have to play my cards right to do so.'

Eurika gazed at the sundry objects, then returned to her task. She replaced the two sheathed daggers, and some of the higher denominated coins. Finally, she placed the travel pack into a desk drawer. Her longsword was slung over the chair. She decided to enhance her grasp over the finer aspects of magic. More exactly, the aspect of control. Wrought power can only be called with an understanding of the craft. Also, failing to evoke the power needed, or failing to close off the power, had on average a lesser impact than failing to control the spell...

Train spell casting - aspect control.

A day after her initial testing...
Williams head was a little bit clearer now, and he thought up a good plan to find if that woman, miss Eurika, was useful in his plans
"Could you bring me that wom-"
"Chironas? Didn't you al-"
"Madami Eurika. Not Chironas."
"Oh, sorry."
