"Well, I assume you could use more forces tracking her down and finishing this campaign off. You know my cavalry unit well enough, and I also got some well-equipped skirmishers you could put to good use.

I also have some heavy archers, but they're still training, and aren't likely to be finished with that until a few seasons have passed."

[Shootandrun]

"And - why would you make such a decision, Laythe?"

[Taricus]

"One way or another, I'm going to help Ligoria. This just seems the best way of doing it right now."

[Shootandrun]

"And you assume that I need help. I was given a lot of men, Laythe, and I am more than capable of finishing this campaign by myself. However, if you join me... Kathos would eventually know that foreign forces have joined mine. He might even know that you joined me. He will see that as treason - rightly so - and I'll be forced to stay on your side. I expected better of you, Laythe."

[Taricus]

"...I didn't even think of that plan. Really, the intention was to help you take this territory and that was that. Really are pointing out how I need help though..."

[Shootandrun]

"I don't believe that you are so naive, Laythe... If you are, perhaps you should consider the fact that you aren't exactly apt to rule. In the great game, there are only pieces and players, and no kingdom wants to be lead by a king who acts as a piece."

[Taricus]

"Just using the most straightforward plan really. I mean if I tried that plan, what would've stopped you from killing me? The knights are good, but they're not going to beat a force that's twice as strong as them, not without a brilliant leader at any rate. Besides, I have a few plans in reserve for the storm coast. I just need a lot of power for it to work, such as the throne of a nation."

[Shootandrun]

"And you believe you would be able to control a nation and to use it to change the Storm Coast? Perhaps you aim too high, Laythe. Cain, Eshir and the Archbishop can all change the entire Storm Coast with their choices, but that's it. The other nations simply bow and follow. Some are trying to acquire their place with the great, of course - Dalannor and Fiumefurt, namely - but in the end only Shola, Galam and Moun matter to all. Ligoria is a long way off of that status. Kathos might be able to do it - he keeps more than one ace up his sleeve, I believe - but he hates his work. And you think you could achieve what that man doesn't even have the will to try to go for?"

[Taricus]

"Of course. Sure, Galam, Shola and Moun may seemingly control the strings of the coast. But they're not unified or co-ordinated in any sense. They mainly just look out for their own immediate borders and coffers. They haven't a... vision, if you would call it, of the future. The storm coast could rival the power of the dragon empire.

And the willpower of an individual is important here. If Kathos doesn't have the guts to even try it, he won't suceed with such a plan if he does follow through. This is one of those things in which someone is commited to the end with. Hell, the recent turmoil in Motavi makes it a good place to get a decent amount of repect and prestige if anyone is willing to put their foot into that mess..."

[Shootandrun]

"You have a lot to learn, Laythe. Once you start playing the game, you can either win or loose. The other players won't allow you to back down. A vision is good and ideals are, too, but in the end they're like words; once the steel starts singing, they are not worth anything. Do you have anything else than a vision and dreams, Laythe? Any other reason to make me believe that you might actually be able to win in the world of the Great?"

[Taricus]

"I'm certainly not going to back down from this once I start. And I'm certainly going to back my words up with the might of the second most powerful military in the storm coast, provided it backs me. I've got contacts that Kathos doesn't have, and I have a lot of time for my plans to come to fruition, provided I don't meet an unnatural end to my life."

[Shootandrun]

[6-6]A predatory look appeared on Alaria's face for a second, then it disappeared. She looked at Laythe.

"Let's say I join you, Your Grace. What would my reward be?"

[Taricus]

"Well, that really depends on what you want, within reason. Titles, money. Hell, I'd be open to marriage if that's what you so desired. Simply put, you want it, I'll see if I can provide."

Laythe's tone was mostly serious, though it turned into a lighter, more joking tone when she reffered to the marraige offer, then turned back to a more serious tone after that.

[4]"I want to be named marshal of the ligorian army when the throne is yours. I'll have all responsibility of the military. You'll be the only one able to pull rank on me. Deal?"

[Taricus]

"Deal. Thanks for siding with me Alaria, truely. So, Marshal, any suggested plan of action? Do we stick around and take Deplume out, or do we march straight for Talama?"
