Quote from: To Aurelius
Requesting a private meeting tomorrow at noon at study, without any interlopers.

(unsigned, marked with EE.)

Before the expedition with the Herbalist...

Gavin was preparing himself for the trip to the mountins to obtain the plants for the herbalists. He already asked for guards and hoped that the travel would be quick and without interruptions.
He received a note marked "EE" but he had no idea what it was about. He did feel fairly safe in Cain's city, so he did not see a reason not to heed the note. He was still in his study at midday, fiddling with the last travel bag.

Eurika quickly entered and shut the door, leaning against it.

"Hi, Gavin."

Her expression was a careful neutral, and she was not holding any weapons - they were both slung on her belt. She spoke in a slightly timid way, all the while preparing to draw her dagger if Gavin tried to run/lifesuck/assualt her.

Today, her leather armor was on, but underneath her white robes.

Oh. Its you . Again. But evidently you aren't trying to get me killed or arrested. You would't be approaching me up front like that if you did .
He sighed and sat down.

"So what is it this time?" He streched in the chair and put up his legs on the table.
"More cold water or are you gonna say something that makes sense?"

Eurika immediately narrowed her eyes, raising an eyebrow. She recovered her original expression and said nonchalantly,

"Do you want a foot massage?"

She stayed near the door.

"Foot massage? What are you talking about? I met some drunk and out of their mind wenches in my life, but you make less sense than they did."

"Here, let me show you:"

She crossed the room while speaking. She then stood in front of Gavin, and quickly drew her dagger.

"Inside first."

She then made a stabbed downwards, aiming at the table next to Gavin's foot. She also attempted to not put any force on it, and simply make it a swift action.

Hopefully he won't move.

"Gah! What the hell?!"

He quickly took his feet off the table after she plunged the knife next to them. He stood up and backed up few feet away from Eurika.

"What is wrong with you? Whats with the constant abuse? And please start making sense, because so far I got none of your crazy behaviour."

Eurika sheathed her dagger again.

"Well, I suppose that's my interest for today."

She looked at Ardas and smiled.

"So, I see that you're planning on going somewhere. Mind if I follow? I'm a proficient swordsman, and I also talk well."

She expected a question about 'interest' or an inquiry about her mental soundness to come in.

"Wha? I'm sorry, but I barely know you and you work for a man that wants me dead. Don't be surprised if I will act sane and inquire about your motives.
For all I know you might be willing to trick me or something."

"Well, for starters, I'm feeling very bored nowadays. Second, right now I'm kinda in between employers. I also like to act on exact orders. Third, your power interests me. There's also a forth, but I'd say you don't need to know that one."

She crossed her arms, speaking matter-of-factly.

"I hope you are honest. Shame that you couldn't be more upfront earlier. But do anything stupid again and I won't be so nice anymore."

He relaxed a bit.

"If you wan to accompany me, you must start making sense. None of this bla bla bla. If you got something on your mind say it instead of trying to get me killed. As for my powers I suspect that you know more than you tell. Because how the hell did William know what I am? But enough about that."

He went back to fiddling with his bag.

"I will be making a short trip to help out looking for some herbs. In return I will get some books that I need for my ... work here. It may sound silly, but apparently we are lookinf for something rare that need to be transplanted. Since i know bugger all, I am there to make sure nothing bad happens to the herbalist."

He finished and put the bag away in a corner.
" Are you interested? If so, meet me her tomorrow morning."

"Well, Mr. Aurelius, I'm sure I'd be as, if not more, useful than you in protecting . . . anyhow, I believe I will see you tomorrow."

Eurika waited if Ardas had anything to say, before leaving.

Lan turned to the merchant with an inquisitive look. "We'll be passing Polca and through Galam. How will the border taxes be payed for? Or are we...smuggling it in?

How does one start a business, by the way. Excuse me for asking."

Question on the destination.

"Taxes are paid simply by the goods carried, they never ask where it's from. Several nations have trade agreements with others ensuring monolpolies on certain goods. One nation may not wish to bleed the small fractions of a ducat that may be made per shipment - others do so in a manner akin to breathing. Vasir is well versed in this." The merchant shuffles around some papers looking for something, "Starting a business? Ducats and the consent of a nation, that's all honestly. Some nations force taxes or other requirements on merchants, but I can't think of many offhand and even fewer in the Coast."

Set out with herbalist and the guards to obtain the plants.

((Feel free to interact in the middle of all this if you want to expand it. Just rolled the shell of it up front))

[31,5,12] You set out to the northern forests making fair enough time and a mostly uneventful trip. Making camp at the northern forests proves difficult however. Several camps have been destroyed by the local wildlife. First thoughts were bandits, but one of the guards posioned some food left out after you had left with the Herbalist, killing a large bear. Eventually the group relocates the camp somewhere less...alive.

This doesn't seem to go as planned either. The new camp is now nearly twice as far from half the things she needs to collect, causing the trip to be longer than expected. Not like anyone here had anything better to do. Your short term perusal of the material she brought for you has given you some ideas that will be more conducive to your training than you expected, but not as much as you had hoped.

The materials the Herbalist came for are finally collected, and in addition you've learned a few things not to eat in the woods around here. One of the Guards was kind enough to teach you - and spent a night spewing fluids from both ends in the process.

You head off back to Shola in another uneventful trip.

"Pretty simple really. I want my throne back, but in order to get it back, I need information. The Ligorian amry seems to be preparing for another campaign, despite the death of Lord Nikepheros. I need to know, what they're doing, who's in chargeand where they're headed."

"Information I'm sure I could gather, but I don't see why it's of any use to you or how it would be of any use to me to provide it to you. Current leadership in Ligoria is almost helpful to my position in the coast."
