William rammed the blade into Auvin's (Old Lord) chest, smiling under the mask as his arms get soaked in a spray of the man's blood. He pushed in the blade up to the hilt before pulling it up, slicing until it hit bone. He drew the blade out and hacked at the man again, cutting through his neck and, by extension, spinal column.

"No one."

William turned and left. Throwing a match into any pile of clothes/the bedding/paper stacks or anything else flammable((AKA: Light shit on fire)). Jumping back out the window and taking cover whenever possible. He heads to the main gate to meet up with his Crimsons. He makes sure to take off his mask before addressing his men.

William turned and left. Jumping back out the window and taking cover whenever possible. He heads to the main gate to meet up with his Crimsons. He makes sure to take off his mask before addressing his men.

[5] You get out of the building easily, and no one is waiting for you outside. All the guards probably rushed towards the study. [4] The crossbowmen are no longer at the windows, allowing you to simply walk towards the main gate without the mask, unharmed. [6] Meanwhile, the fire burns extremelly well - too well. It starts spreading, and forming the beginning of a forest fire. With the riots and the panicked guards, no one is thinking about stopping them. [6] [1] No one rushes after you and, confident, you no longer keep to cover. That was a bad idea - soon you hear shouting about murder coming from the old lord's manor, and citizens turn towards you. You realize that you are soaked in blood and that you come from the manor, and they realize that too. This might hurt your reputation a little. Well, too late for that now. You reach the main gate and meet with your crimson guards, who are ready for action.

Congratulations! You killed the Old Lord and the whole city now knows about it. You monster.

"A man named Aurelius. He escaped due to the fog. You may also know him as that preacher who gave a flashy light show outside the walls."

[2-1] "Aye. I remember that Aurelius. He was a mage, most likely, and he was brought into the lord's manor - without a trial or anything. And now, there's fog coming out of the manor and the city's going mad!"

Instantly, the preacher who started the riot begins shouting.

"The Lord is working with a sorceror and practising black magic in our town! Death to the heretics!"

The peasants begin chanting "Death to the heretics!". The one who was talking to you looks at you, expecting you to join them in their hunt for the new lord. After all, you did say you were hunting sorcerors, didn't you?

[2] More peasants have joined the mob. You have only a dozen knights with you - not enough to contain them. [6] The guards who were in the manor decide to remain loyal to William - however, they also start returning inside the manor, where they'll be much safer... Leaving you and your men to face the growing crowd. [4] Thankfully, nobody thought about surrounding your forces, so you can still retreat.

"Close all the gates. Now."
"Yes, sir."

All the city gates are sealed and are to be blocked from opening, unless a great amount of time or battering rams are applied. He attempts to discern where there is the highest amount of mobs and rioting.

The city gates are closed. Anyone trying to get in or out will have to take them by force - as long as there are men to defend them.

[2] You fail to see where the eye of the hurricane is. There's alot of fires in the port - [6] and while they aren't spreading, the smoke prevents you from seeing what's happening in that part of the city. [2] There is still fog coming from your manor - it's now impossible to know the situation in the middle of the town until you get there yourself. [4] There are no other zones in the city where the chaos appears to be higher than the average.

"Fools, it's a shame I have to do this. Heh."
'We understand sir."

William nodded, and tied Zerim's belt around his waist. One of his men had weathered the riots to bring it to him. He slipped on his blood red great-coat with a smile of things to come.

William and his full regiment of Crimson Guards begin to walk into the center of the city. Every group of rioters is given one chance to disperse back into their homes or they'll be killed. Sparing any children or other innocents.

[1] The preacher answers before the peasant can speak.

"The lord first! All of this started because of him, and it will end with him! Follow me! We'll get his men first, then we'll find him and burn him in the name of the Bright One!"

The mob starts marching towards' the Crimson Guards.

"It seems that Iocaun won't be able to reach me by the Winter, or anytime soon for that matter; while the bird was somehow able to make it through that with the message, no ship can equal such a feat; Hatcur has been all but cut off from the rest of the world by that strange tempest... I suppose I will have to change my plans and learn more about the locals, perhaps even associate myself to a local lord for the resources I will no doubt need for my search. The city is in uproar, it will best if I move on, but first, to do something about my appearance".

"Fine, you go deal with him, I'll deal with the damn looters first..."

Laythe and her guard start marching in order to deal with the looters. Send a messenger to the city guard to get them to contain the riot.

Attempt to cast a minor illusion over myself, taping into the aether for power; the desired form is that of an human.

[1] You fail to use the power to cast the illusion - however, you do not fail to take power from the aether. For a second, Polca seems to become extremelly silencious - despite the fires and the riots, not a sound is heard for that single second. Immediatly afterwards, a bright explosion tears your manor into pieces [3] and sends you flying until you collide with a nearby building. [4][5] While the shockwave destroyed your manor and a few surrounding buildings, it didn't wound you, and thanks to some miracle you were not hurt when you landed.

The shockwave makes the peasantry panic and more people join the mob - +1 to rolls for the number of rioters

William and his full regiment of Crimson Guards begin to walk into the center of the city. Every group of rioters is given one chance to disperse back into their homes or they'll be killed. Sparing any children or other innocents.
The mob starts marching towards' the Crimson Guards.
Laythe and her guard start marching in order to deal with the looters (Getting the city guard to help).

[4] Somehow, Laythe manages to get her knights together. The regiment heads towards the port to get the looters.[4] They are not attacked by any mob along the way, [3] but once they reach the port they realize that they are too late to stop the raiding. [6] They decide to join their forces with William's, and they meet the Crimson guard in the main street. However, they were followed by the mob in the port - the peasants knew that the place where the soldiers would be was where there would be the most action and the most potential loot. [The main crowd of citizens becomes stronger - +1 to rolls for their numbers].

William and his forces, now three hundred men strong, met the main mob in the main street. [5+2 / 3 = 2.3, rounded up = 3] They are about three regiment strong, but without special training or equipment they are not too threatening.

[5] The mob stops in front of William's little army, unsure of what to do. The peasants greatly outnumber the city's forces, but they are not soldiers. Finally, a man steps forward - the preacher who started the first riot.

"Stand aside, soldiers of Polca! William and his dogs from hell are the only ones who deserve to die for the crimes of this new Lord! Get out of the way of the righteous, and you will not be harmed by the fury of the Bright One's followers!"

[2] The old Captain of the Guards might have decided to leave William to his faith, but now the guardsmen have no other commanding officer than the new lord. Their morale takes a bad hit - they are all taloists - [-1 strength to the city watch] but they hold the line, nervously.

Both forces are facing eachother, unsure of what to do.

"William!" Terryn's voice rang out even over the roar of flames and the shouting of angry mobs. A moment later the Hedge Knight himself, face covered in soot, appeared from the smoke, baring steel. At his back were his brothers, similarly armed and prepared. "It would appear that hiring me is a curse, hm? Let us see if we cannot break it."

The day had been an...interesting one. First the smoke, and then the fires (many of which, Terryn had found while seeking William out, someone else had started), and finally the recent explosion. An earthquake, perhaps? Terryn had heard of them, though they were more common to the east. None of that mattered to the mercenary, though. He eyed one of the members of the mob, a large man with a cleaver, likely a butcher, with a wolfish grin.

-Terryn and the Thornbred meet up with the Crimson Guard. In the event of a battle, the Thornbred (with Terryn's +1 to Tactics) will attempt to use the burning buildings and streets to outflank the mob, driving them towards the charging Cavalry. Naturally, the Thornbred show no mercy.

"Right, I've had an absolute gutful of this!"

Laythe's unit moves to take a postition between both sides, in an attempt to prevent either side attacking one another. In the event of one side attacking another, Laythe's knights will join the defenders.

William emerges from the mass of his soldiers.

He was still grinning, and slightly more bloodstained. His voice was the very essence of nonchalance.

"So, whats all this then?"
