He was dumbfounded. he fell for such a dumb play on words. But how will he get out of this situation now...

I.... eh. You know now that I am a no one and simply make living out of conning people. Simple stuff, I just talk and they give me money. Its not hard. I hope its not criminal in here....

"Oh it's very illegal...Very, Very Illegal. Fraud, for starters."
William poured the vial into his own glass, before taking a long drink of it.
"Continue drinking. This stuff is very expensive...The dinner should be done anytime now, as well. But I'm curious as to how you pulled off that light show in the clearing. But I'll understand if you decide not to tell me. A great magician never reveals his secrets and all that..."

"Fair enough. Of course, we do have a more pressing issue: A replacement guard captain, to discuss."
"Alright. Who do you have in mind?"

Great. Magician. this man knew about magic. And probably so did that condescending wench. They were observing him from the start....

"Well, I won't say much, since I'm not really that great with anything really. Sometimes stuff happens when I "wish" for it. Heh. Its not the best explanation, but I really can't say more. I don't know how those "things" happen."

"Was wondering if you had anyone else for the job? Though I would recommend replacing him with a loyalist from your ranks."

Then Laythe turned to the "Preacher", giving him an unnerving stare.

"I have an odd feeling that you're lying, or you had an accomplice. And either one of you was skilled in the arcane arts, or had an item able to replicate an aspect of them. I believe it would be in your best interest to elaborate which."

((Dinner is arriving in two turns.))
Dining Room:
"Was wondering if you had anyone else for the job? Though I would recommend replacing him with a loyalist from your ranks."
"I was planning on it...Perhaps Eurika would work for the position, she seems to have an inquisitive mind and a penchant for protecting those who cannot protect themselves. Or maybe Con Gavin here...Heh."
William smirks and shrugs again.

Great. Another one. Was this some sort of opposite day and everyone knew what magic was or did he fall into the hands of some templar types?

He turned to the another woman that spoke to him.
"And who the hell are you supposed to be? Another know-it-all wench? You heard me the first time when I was "poisoned". I am alone and I have nothing with me or on me. Stuff just happens when I wish for it really hard, but not always. It does work like a blessing most of the time."

"Guard captain? That sounds... incredibly boring. "

Eurika complained, while still looking at her untouched glass of wine. It did smell nice, but ...

Dining Room:
There is the sound of a sword being drawn, coming from William's side of the table.
"Please refrain from insulting the Madami."

"And if you don't want to Eurika, you don't have to if you don't want to. I'm not the sort who would force it upon yo-...But really the wine isn't poisoned...I'll take a drink of it if you don't trust me."

"...Uh, no, I'll take your word."

She gulped down roughly a third of the wine in one shot.

"Gah."

Bitterer than she expected. She never really was a wine-drinker... usually, the diluted wine was her beverage of choice in inns.

"So, I believe that means he's obscurely admitting to be a mage, one preaching against the Talolist church at that. I wonder what the priests would think of that..."

Laythe shot Gavin an evil smile, then turned her focus back onto William and Eurika.

"While Eurika's skill is commendable, I would suggest someone with some more restraint and less valuable. No offense to Eurika of couse, she's skilled, but all that means is you can't waste her on such a low station."

"Eh. I suppose I can be released from your custory, sir? You know it all, you have seen me and I am harmless. And most of all I am tired and sick of snoopy and annoying women." He looked briefly at Eurika and the "madami".
"I can offer you little, since I am tired and I have barely any knowledge of what am I doing with that  "talent" of mine. And if you want to lock me up then brilliant, at least I won't worry about grub or place to sleep.

He took another swig of the wine.

Heh, I must admit though, you are pretty nicely set up. Like any other noble I suppose, but I see you have 2 ladies working for you and you don't spare an expense on a late night meal.

He took on a quite nonchalant attitude.

"Do you mind telling your servants to bring in some cheese and vegetables as well? I am starved, and I would not mind filling myself up properly. Only Bright One knows when I will eat again. Hahahaha."

Dining Hall
"No, you can't be released from my custody, someone still has hostile intentions toward you. And you won't be sleeping in a cell, unless you keep insulting Eurika and Ralia, then it won't so much as be a cell as the bay."

"I normally don't eat lavishly. I prefer the same rations as my Guardsmen."

"I'm sure the chef has something like that planned. He usually doesn't get to cook meals that aren't Bread, Wine and Dried Meat all stewed together."

"And maybe Jan would be good for the position...He always enjoyed patrolling towns instead of fighting on the battlefield.

"I'd suggest you'd hold your togue, preacher. Otherwise you'll wake up in the morning unable to have children, You understand?"

Laythe then took a breath, then refocused on William.

"Sounds like a good choice indeed. Should instate him soon, to make sure that any criminal elements don't pop up in the absense of a guard captain."

Dining room, the night of the Bar Incident:
William smiled into his drink. When he looked up and began to say something, Servents emerged from behind him, carrying several platters, upon which meat, boiled and spiced vegetables, and bread where piled.

"Well then...we must continue this conversation later...but for now ...enjoy."
William however didn't eat anything.

"Oh and Ralia, I may need to borrow your knights, for a few days. And once again next week. I would be honored if you assisted..."

A day or two later:
A Few Days Later...

"Quite alright, my dear, I trust things have been exciting enough for you here?" Terryn replied casually as he awaited a guard to escort him to William, a hint of disinterest creeping into his voice.
"Fine enough...I'll go and get William."

After a few moments, Lizzy was in William's office.

"Sir? It's Terryn."
"Oh good."

William emerged from the building with three of his Crimson's behind him. He was armed and armored.
"So Terryn, what do you want to talk about?"
Meanwhile three crossbowmen are to take positions where they can accurately snipe Terryn and Co. only to incapatiate or kill if William is in danger. They are to wait till Will puts his hands in the air and stretches, while yawning or is in danger. Laythe's Calvary are to be on alert and ready to deploy, if Terryn looks ready to flee, without permission from William to do so.

Later that day
William will make some armor from grey leather- which will have plates sewn into it over important anatomical spots, all the materials will be purchased anonymously- which will hopefully hide his identity and not obscure his peripheral vision. Then he'll wait until night and head to secluded back alley by the Old Lord's Residence, making sure not to be seen.
