Ask to speak with either a historian or the Archbishop and also ask who I am speaking to. Nod to nearby statues.

You're speaking with the Archbishop already. He is hte one that receives guests ((all of which i said in the original post))

Go to the leader of Moun's abode (I forgot what he was called) and ask for a meeting.

The Archbishop sits upon a raised dais in the 'Common' Temple of Moun. Common has always been a strange word for a place so uncommon. Decorations, artifacts and murals of nearly every religion known to the coast (and several not) adorn the interior of the building. Many believe that Moun may be the only place in the Coast where one can be open about who, or what, they are without fear of persecution. All the religions are represented among the council, yet none have absolute rule. The Archbishop himself is simply the figurehead, a symbol of the city and its purpose.

Ask for donations and inform people of more being delivered next day. Retire to an inn for the night using .1d

You manage to collect [.3] ducats as well as the .1 from William in donations. The flock seemed to have taken the experience well.

You retire for the night to your inn of choosing. Your 'donation' of .1d for the room gives the proprietor the idea you'd like to not be disturbed for the night. He simply asks if you'll need anything before sleeping.

-Terryn and some of his men surreptitiously follows Gavin/The Preacher back to whatever tavern he is staying in.

[5] You have little trouble following the man to the Inn he's stayign at. He doesn't appear to make any attempt to hide himself.

Sometime Later...

-Terryn seeks out a suitable abandoned dock-side warehouse. He has the regiment of thugs lay in waiting surrounding it. He then goes to meet with the Guard Captain, with the following story: First, Terryn apologizes for having left without finishing the job. Second, he explains that his men have been following the Captain only to ensure that he had not fallen in league with William. Finally, he explains that he wishes to help in breaking Polca free of the Lonemine Lord's grip, and that the Captain should come with him to discuss things privately. The captain may bring some trusted guards, if he feels safer that way. Then Terryn leads the Captain to the warehouse (wherein his own regiment is waiting). Once the Captain is inside, the Thug Regiment (if I still have them helping me out) will close in on the warehouse to aid the Thornbred in killing/capturing the Guard Captain. (This may all be rolled in one go, I guess)

[52,3] The Captain agrees to your story about following him, but is leary enough to meet with you as a known associate of William 'the Snake' and brings some of his more competant men with him.

Terryn And Men: 5hp
Captain and Guards: 5hp

[4,4+1v4] The Thug regiment will be delayed in their arrival to assist you and your men for several rounds yet as they're busy causing distractions around the city still. You do, however, manage to catch the Captain and his guard unaware to your deception (Captain: -1hp)
[4v3] His men are truly not accustomed to anything remotely resembling fair combat, and your men make great use of that fact. (Captain: -1hp)
[3v5] They are, however, accustomed to unfair combat and using numbers to their advantage. They do so, scoring what would likely be the only strike against yourself. (Terryn: -1hp)
[5v1] The Captains men go down as they begin to run for the exit. The Captain reaches the door, only to find a large number of angry men outside (Captain: -1hp)
[5+1v1] The Thugs finally arrive to surround the building just as the Captain finds his way to the exit. The distraction of seeing the remaining gangs outside causes the Captain to be unaware of the blade you just thrust through his spine - until he sees it exit his chest (Captain: -2hp - Dead)

Offer my service to the Merchants. Another regiment's worth of protection would do well, especially one that is disciplined and trained in Military tactics.

[56] The merchant group accepts your offer of service and they head out later that day. The size of the group discourages any bandit activity, yet everyone is sure they could have sworn seeing regiments off the trade routes watching you all leave.

William arranges a meeting with the Old Lord. And purchases a high quality gem for .1d or .2d for Eurika to enchant. William also raises another PG regiment and sets them to guarding the walls as well.

-.1d Gem procured for Eurika
PG Recruited

Cast the seeking spell on the gem and another compass. Try again if it fails, barring destructive situations.

[222] Your attempt to recast the spell is wrought with failure. You reattempt to cast th spell several times, every one of them a failure in some way. You feel you may be distracted and try to clear your mind and try again.
[354] After several moments of meditation and cleared thought, your cast goes much better. You won't get as much time out of this cast as the last, but it should be sufficient.

That night...

Terryn cleaned his blade of the blood, giving the captain a short nod before stepping over his corpse. "Glad to see you folks made it in time. Unless you've an idea to dump the corpse, I'll have him dumped in the harbors. Keep in touch, eh? I've got more plans, just need to finish preparations."

-Terryn has a few of his men dump the corpses in the harbor, and tosses about .5d to the gangs as simple thanks along with the promise of more work against William.
-Terryn himself seeks medical attention, explaining it away as a tavern brawl gone bad.

A few nights later...

Terryn stepped into the tavern, Oswald, Donald, and one other at his side. His head was beginning to clear, though the headache remained. Sauntering up to the counter, he motioned the man into silence. Donald unsheathed a rather wicked looking dagger, and Oswald simply stood by the door to ensure no interruptions. "I believe you have a man staying here," Terryn stated, sliding several coins across the counter, "I'd like to see him, if you could lead me to his room."

-Terryn simultaneously threatens and bribes (.3d) the tavern owner into allowing him and three of his men access to Gavin's room whilst Gavin is, presumably, sleeping.

A while after that...

"Let Lord William know that a knight by the name of Sir Terryn wishes to see him." Terryn stated coolly as he approached the manor, only Oswald at his side. He paused a moment, squinting, and then amended: "Also, hello...Lizzie, was it?"

Once in the inn, Gavin bid farewell to the last of the people and requested a hearty breakfast once he wakes up.

Retire for the night. If undisturbed, get my food and go back to the plaza once midday comes.

[24] No one believes your story about the brawl, but with no reason to suspect otherwise they assume it's none of their business and continue about their work patching you up

-Terryn simultaneously threatens and bribes (.3d) the tavern owner into allowing him and three of his men access to Gavin's room whilst Gavin is, presumably, sleeping.

[6] Accepting of the bribe, the inn keeper has no reason to defend the man. He's more concerned for his own well-being than that of some random stranger in town - especially one spouting random religious nonsense. You arrive too early however, and find Gavin awake when you open the door to his room.

Terryn eyed the man for a moment, and then silently stepped into the room. Oswald followed, and then finally Ian and Donald, who quietly shut the door behind them. It was cramped in here, and Terryn's wound, a still-healing gash on his leg, was beginning to ache from the day's walking. Nonetheless, he kept a straight face. He already had his story prepared, had been working on it since the preacher's show had come to an end.
"You speak of Talos, sir." he began, voice cool, "Yet my superiors would have notified me of your presence, were you truly a man of the cloth."

At William's Manor, A Day After the Clearing Incident:
When a servant opened the door, Ienden informed him that William Sarturi wanted to see him concerning a job offer and if sir Saturi would be available now?
"Yes, he's expectin' you in the...Garden. And I'm a guard, not a servant."

Ienden is told to check any weapon he has at the door, and after a quick patdown by a moderatly attractive female Crimson Guard, is lead into the garden,  where William is lounging on a stone bench, a blade lays beside him within easy grabbing distance, and several guards make regular patrols. He indicated another chair across from him.
"Welcome, Medic Bohun, would you like a drink or two?"

As Ienden is told to leave his weapons at the door, he raises an eyebrow at the guard. Then he opens his backpack and removes a small leatherbound package.
"Here are my chirurgical tools. They include a sharp knife and some other tools. I would not want to give the impression that I might want to hurt anyone here. Just be careful with them. They were specially made for me."

Ienden looks around at the guarden as he is brought to William. He then focusses on William with his usual polite smile.
"No, thank you for the offer. A nice garden you have here. Not too many useful herbs and plants, but at least it's nice to look at. You mentioned perhaps having a job for me?"

(*facepalm*)

"South, so very far south...Hatcur. I lived in a monastery; such a quiet place, nothing like the cities I've witnessed. This city however...its like a city of monasteries, I was hoping to learn more about it...If I may ask, the history of this place? And does this city have a...shrine to the gods of Hatcur?"

Greet archbishop and tell him I came from Hatcur. Then ask about the history of Moun and if there are any shrines dedicated to the Hatcuri dieties.

"Oh bloody hell. What is it with you armored types following me? Never seen a preacher in your life?"

Gavin sighed and spoke again.

"What is it that you want? You got your blessing, I'm spent, tired and hungry. If you want to know more or sometihng, come bakc tomorrow. I will be in the plaza."

Terryn affected a thin smile, his fingers drumming the pommel of his sword. Without another word, he pulled out the second chair and dropped down into it, casually laying one arm over the back. Oswald stepped to stand behind him, towering over his shoulder.
"You mean to tell me," Terryn asked, reaching out to pluck an apple from Gavin's plate, "that a man capable of communing with Talos in such a way has not been informed of the presence of myself and my men? Surely the Church told you we would be here, when they heard you were headed this way."

Gavin suspiciously looked at the man.

"If anything, you don't look exactly like a church type. And I travel alone. I doubt that any priest would take note of me. As you saw, I do not grant blesings in the public. Only those who believe get their answers. "

He looked over the bodyguard of the man.

"There is a little secret I can let you on, if you promise to stay silent."

Terryn's eyes narrowed for a moment. "Well of course I don't, that would defeat the pu-" he began, and then paused before waving a hand and taking a bite of the apple. "Very well then. What is this secret of yours?"

"While I work preaching His name, there is an additional layerbeneath my work. Its called the Golden House. We utilize special talents and organize cells that help us reinforce the missionary work, all while gathering infomration and utilizing the resources of other, bigger groups. all in His name."

He lowered his voice.
"The evil likes to work in the shadow, and the Golden House works to disperse it. Now tell me, who from the Church sent you to me? I am likely to know their name, and they mine, if they sent you here.
Also, you probalby already know about that you are meant to help me, are you not?"

Terryn took another bite from the apple and began to slowly chew as the man finished. Food, he had always found, was a good way to buy time with which to think. He had no reason to disbelieve this Golden House story, not that it mattered. Whatever course of action he took here was treacherous. If he was actually of the faith, he'd see through Terryn's lie. If he was not, well, there still might be a chance that he'd see through them. Perhaps it was time for a bolder course of action.

The Knight swallowed, and examined the bite he had made as he spoke. "The Golden House, hm? Interesting. I'm afraid I cannot tell you who sent me, as a man of the Light who is as intimate with the work of Shadow and Darkness as you say..."
He paused a moment, glancing back to Oswald momentarily. Ian took the queue, shifting his weight and dropping a hand to the axe at his waist. "...you must understand the perils that my superior and I would put ourselves in by revealing such information, even in a place as safe as this. I will tell you that I am a Hunter, of sorts, and nothing more."

He evaded my story. If he truly was from the church, he would call me out. Seems he is not the man that he tells me he is....

"You bloody liar!" Gavin stood up, playing an outraged man. "You tell me of secrecy, and I spilled my guts to you in good faith! Oh, the faithful are always beset from all sides by the wicked...
What are you going to do now? Murder me at the orders of your wicked superior? defenceless in my own bed? Or are you gonna rob me blind in my own room? If you want neither but want to trick me, then you will find nothing her but a resolve of a believer . Now state your true business or get out!
He pointed at the door.

He knew he was outmatched here. He could go for an emergency fireworks, but it would be of slim use. But he trusted his actor talents to carry him forward. So far the man semed to buy it...
But Gavin was still at loss what could the man want from him. No one knew about him, so why the sudden interest in the crazy preacher Aurelius?

Terryn's eyes narrowed once more, this time with anger. The innkeeper would not investigate, he had been paid off, but this was causing a commotion none the less. And commotions left rumors.

"Ian, quiet him," Terryn ordered calmly with a wave of his hand, before biting down on the apple once more, "if he will not quiet himself. I've no desire to make a scene."
Ian, too his credit, did not draw his axe, instead opting to crack his knuckles and take a menacing step forward. Terryn's eyes locked on the hysterical priest. "I am not here for money, do not mistake yourself into thinking that I have need to rob some wandering priest."
