On forgotten beasts.

Welcome all to this wonderful tale,
Where dwarves will die and drink some ale.
See all strange habits and things,
Silly dwarves and snails with wings!
All will know the meaning of fun,
And dwarves from rabbits, will run.
This tale begins a fortress of stone,
That holds many piles of bone.

A fortress of a name Unknown,
Lies a story that is not well known.
As a party of seven came,
Leader with a heart of flame.
Helped by a pick,
Built many a fortress, quite quick.
He declared "strike the earth!"
By their hearts, they dug with all their worth.

One year later The fortress is strong,
Of all leaders, he has done no wrong.
But a cavern has been found!
Beings of moss are all around.
All is not well in this peaceful cavern,
As a forgotten beast roams, heading for the tavern!
The leader came, armed with axe,
Though he did not expect a monster made of wax!

Strange, this beast was,
This leader knew what 'twas.
Slimy snail with wings, made of wax,
Beware its dust, its name is Bax!
The brave dwarf knew what he had to do,
He sprinted away, some say he flew.
This beast followed, wanting blood,
Here was a trap, that triggered a flood!

The day was not saved, for the beast had wings,
There was about to be a battle fit for kings.
Every dwarf gathered around,
Even Armok viewed, wearing his bloody crown!
As the beast rose, spewing dust,
The noble leader rose, the dwarves placed in him their trust.
All the fortress was still,
Time for battle, where there will be a kill.

Ichor spewed on the walls,
Is there no noise in these hallowed halls?
Our fearless leader choked on the powder,
Oh, there was no noise louder.
After the fight he fell down,
All but awake, to be lost in renown?

But all is well for our new mayor,
Being just a case of the sniffles, he lives to this day as the surveyor!

Nice. But people must remember, forgotten beasts are not inherently 'bad' or 'evil', even 'dangerous.' They are simply the creatures that the world forgot about, wondrous things that could be benign - yet they are given no cordon and slaughtered, or reigned by overlords and weaponized. Protect the humble forgotten beast, lest all that remain of them be statues.
