I think Kaijyuu meant that they wouldn't be told about the "2 years then fwoosh" thing.

Not that it makes it any better.

So I'm signing up to be sent somewhere where I never hear from me again and I "mysteriously" disappear every 2 years? FUCK NO. Way too sketchy for me to get involved, no thanks. And if I find out, those fuckers are gonna pay for murdering me, ESPECIALLY without my permission. Welcome to the court of law bitch, go to jail.

You just don't see the potential!

Or movies that I haven't seen either but read plot synopsis for.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Murdering people who are then still around to get revenge is never not a bad idea.

If we can instantly clone a human on an atomic level, why can't we build labour bots?

Because you can't eat robots.

Unless they're made of candy I guess?

If you could make a robot out of anything, why would you choose anything other than candy?

The future's gonna be like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. And the future will be delicious.

I'm thinking that if we can build a machine that would do the atomic level copying thingy we will be in possesion of a few rampaging AI's by that time. And we all know how lazy robots and AI's are, so they will use teleporter cloned people for slave labour in their filthy candy mines (which will be the main source of their wealth as they export it all into outer space).

Oh no, forget that. I have been there, and I don't want any more clones of me. Trust me, the guys are ALL assholes, always trying to scheme their way to the top and kill off each other, and me to boot! I'm only alive today due to sheer luck! Could you imagine if one of my atomic clones had got the better of me? Good thing I managed to finish them off when I did...

I really do not see the issue with this... If! I was destroyed before my clone was made. Two of me at the same time? No thanks. Otherwise I don't have any objections. I don't believe in a soul, and I don't understand how the breaking of the line of consciousness is a issue.

This covers most of the main issues with that style of teleportation in a 10 minute cartoon:

The solution to the "accidentally a clone" problem is easy. Lock the original and the clone in a room with a pair of dueling pistols for half an hour, and whatever happens happens.
