"Maybe we can barter for some supplies here using that junk we picked up. I'd love a bow for hunting."

>Head over to this strange man blocking the trail, whispering words of caution to my companions:
"Careful, my dear friends, this man could be a bandit, or worse... Very much worse... The Lord of Bottles has agents everywhere. All over! In the trees, in the buckets, behind the walls... We must smell him, the demonic one's servants always smell of sulphur and take-out curry."
>Should the uniformed man seem threatening, I shall kindly ask Jakov to have a look at him and tell me his opinion. Jakov always knows about such things, after all...

The jeep slows to a stop a dozen feet in front of the guard and terkiey climbs out and walks toward the guard, flanked on either side by Maldevious and New guy as Yoinks twitchily brings up the rear. As you near the guard he turns back to one of the guard towers and waves a signal. As he does so Terkiey notices the emblem of a 7 pointed yellow on his back; the symbol of the Forgotten Sons.

"Hello." Terkiey says with a slight bow "We'd like entry into the city."

"Your business?" The guard asks, keeping a careful eye on New Guy and Maldevious.

"Supplies. We have a long road ahead of us and neither the food nor fuel  to make it."

"You have money?"

"We have artifacts for trade."

The guard nods slowly before pointing at New Guy.

"Mind yourself with those guns. There are no jails here, just live men and dead criminals."

The guard turns his head and yells something back toward the gate. With a rumble and a screech the gates begin to slide open, sparks flying as metal grinds on metal. With a heavy thud it settles, open.

"We are leaving the carriage here? ...They will send someone to tend to it, then? Alright, I suppose. Seems rather irresponsible to me, leaving it just sitting there for all the world to gawp at, eh Jakov? But that's life."
>Head inside with the others, and wander aimlessly about taking in the sights. I shall keep a wary eye out for my enemies amongst the teeming crowds, however, you never know when they might be ready to strike... Jakov will never be far from my hand, that's for sure.

On second thoughts, split up with group and sneak off somewhere into the city to see who/what I can find.

Everyone piles back into the jeep and it drives through the open gate. Beyond the gate is a short road leading toward where the smoke seems to be pouring out of the earth itself. The road ends at another structure, a large warehouse like building. You drive through the open doors and find it to be empty, save for a man at a terminal. Before anyone can ask what the place is a dull siren sounds and the doors of the warehouse close. The floor jerks upward a half an inch before it begins to lower, slowly descending away from the warehouse and down through massive scaffolding; it's clear that this is some sort of giant freight elevator. Out through the scaffolding you catch your first glimpse of The Sunken City.

At first glance it could have been mistaken for an enormous volcanic pit, an open sore in the stone, boiling over with smoke and ash, but as you descend deeper into it you can make out buildings and streets crouched on concentric rings of descending cliffs. And there, even deeper in that stygian haze of black soot, where the slow, stairstep decline is replaced by a nearly sheer ragged cliff, are more buildings, clinging to or maybe carved out of the face of the cliff. Beyond those clustered cliff dwellings you can see nothing but a sea of smoke churning above the center of the pit. How much deeper it descends past that second, toxic atmosphere, you can't say.

The elevator continues to descend into the pit until it groans to a halt on the first of the concentric circles. Buildings of bright red brick and bleached white concrete, low rugged arches and domed roofs, stretch off in either direction and are mimicked by their like on the circle below. Thin, twisted streets snake between buildings so tightly packed that they seem to merge together into one massive, unbroken structure. It seems like it would be very easy to get lost in here.

(Wanted to let you guys see what the city was like before you chose what to do. )

Woah. This city is literally sunken. I see.

Maldevious elbows Terkiey in the ribs and says "Go ask someone about this place. We need beds and bullets."

Terkiey climbs out of the jeep and flags down someone walking by. They talk for a few minutes before he returns.

"Apparently the first circle is mostly homes, and the Overseer's mansion. The second circle is for businesses, so we'll more then likely find the shops and lodging there."

"What about the jeep? Those roads don't look like they're made for cars, all cobblestone and alleyways."

Terkiey points to the man at the elevator's controls, "Said we can leave our car with him. Also said it wasn't free."

>>I'm just having terkiey do the talking because...well if you were in the party with the silver tongued bastard you would too. Maldevious doesn't even have a speech skill so he's technically much less convincing the yoink, and yoink is completely insane.
