>Head stealthily over to a front window to observe the strangers, bracing Jakov the pistol on the empty window frame. Whisper:
"Who are they, Jakov?  What do they want with us?"
>Stay there in the corner, hidden and watching; if they approach the station shout, whilst keeping in cover:

He trails off muttering to himself as he waits for a response, whilst keeping the gun trained on the lead stranger.

"A gas station! This is good, since we need to resupply, else we might just get trapped in the middle of nowheresville."

> Prepare Prototype Coil gun (unholster and stuff).

"I don't think we're alone, but that's just a hunch. I've seen far too many movies to know that places like this are usually teeming with hostiles, but we can't be sure if there's really someone around or if they're hostile."

Maldevious and New Guy hop out of the jeep and begin searching the area, their weapons at the ready. For a moment everything seems completely abandoned, then Maldevious notices something shifting inside the gas station. He signals to New guy and they advance slowly, weapons focused on the broken windows.

Suddenly someone shouts ""Halt, who goes there?! Keep your hands where I can see them! Who sent you, the Lord of Bottles?" from inside the gas station.

>Head stealthily over to a front window to observe the strangers, bracing Jakov the pistol on the empty window frame. Whisper:
"Who are they, Jakov?  What do they want with us?"

"...Damn that lord of bottles, never trusted him... I should have listened to you Jakov, you told me he would try something like this..."

You slink over to one of the windows and peer out at the invaders, resting Jakov against the sill.

"Who are they, Jakov?  What do they want with us?"

Tiruin jumped out of the back compartment, loosely grasping his shield and approached the sound. For once there were people who didn't shoot on sight. They must be friendly, or in the least, cautious.

Tiruin, Maldevious and New Guy all raise their hands and shout their non-violent intentions, though considering they are all shouting at once it may not be the most reassuring bout of screaming.

>Yoink
All the intruders have raised their hands and started shouting at once. Their voices are blending together but you think you heard something about The Lord of Bottles.

Spoiler: Yoink (click to show/hide)

The man, hearing the sound of human voices for the first time in who-knows how long and finding it both fascinating and intensely irritating, shouts back, keeping the pistol level: "Quiet! Quiet!! Don't all talk at once! Did your mother never tell you that was rude?!"
He narrows his eyes at Tiruin. "Crafty people? Yes, yes you are, yes... I knew they couldn't be trusted... I shall keep my eyes on you! We both shall!"
After a moment, staring at each of them in turn, he'll step out from his spot behind the wall, lowering his pistol slightly (but keeping it ready!) before walking slowly down towards them, and the jeep. He'll peer into each of their faces in turn, mumble "Yes, we were right. You are brothers. Hm hmm." Before heading past them to look at the jeep, staring at it for a long moment and eventually turning back to them and saying, "You are going... That way!" He waves the gun in the direction the vehicle faces, then squints at them. "And you are looking for... Supplies, was it?" He shifts back and forth on his heels, apparently deeply thoughtful about this turn of events. Surely they couldn't be... Hunter-killer assassins of the Lord of Bottles were not this incompetent! They had to be lying, trying to scare him! They were mocking, him, perhaps... If they were, they would not be wandering around, scrabbling for supplies! And not to mention, they would not be driving some half-wrecked contraption of metal, oh no, Jakov and a tree he asked about it had both solemnly agreed that such agents of the Bottlelord could fly. Yes, fly! Like mosquitos! Big, buzzing mosquitos, armed with guns and hatchets, their elbows glowing with the light of the Foul Powers which they posessesed, cackling with glee as they swooped and swiped, swished and swam through the air, like scubadiving leprechauns at a business convention, and...

...He doesn't really seem to be listening anymore, just standing there, head slightly tilted as though listening to something, the gun still pointed absently at Tiruin as he rocks gently back and forth on his heels.  The battered headgear atop his head, despite being scuffed, scratched and in places sewn with now-meaningless letters, can be identified as an old, worn-out leather tri-corner hat.

Spoiler: NG (click to show/hide)

New Guy looks at Tiruin, with confusion looming over his mind.

"Uh... this guy, he seems to be a total nutcrack."

New Guy does his best to keep himself from laughing, but he eventually caved in and silently giggled at Yoink.

"Even if the guy might be having symptoms of schizophrenia, we should still be careful, because the guy has a gun."

He looked over at Yoink, asking him a question.

"Do you need help?"

Inch slightly closer to Yoink, but keep distance from him. Avoid angering Yoink.

Tiruin returned the look and gazed down the gun barrel. It was a nice gun, being held at him for quite some time.

The man or men that were in front of him did look mad, but he could understand, given his partial education in psychology. End-of-the-world syndrome was tough on people.

"Who is the Lord of bottles?"

Spoiler: Yoink (click to show/hide)

The stranger broke out of his reverie, swinging the pistol back around to cover New Guy.
"Help? Do I need help?" He seems somewhat darkly amused by the idea, and repeats it, as though savouring the irony. "Do I need help?! From you? Ha! It is you who need my help, travelling as you are into the lands of the piskee-people, the forgetful drums, the mushroom warriors and the teriyaki snowmen! And let's not forget the Bottle Lord himself... Oh yes, you need us. They just haven't told you why yet."
He looks back to Tiruin, lowering the gun slightly for the second time as he shakes his head slowly, a grave expression on his face. "You seek to travel through this place, forsaken by all deities up to and including the Four Green Gods of the Oblong Corners, and yet you do not know of the Lord of Bottles? Truly, it is madness, and you are lucky we happened upon you in time."
Apparently reaching a decision as to the non-threatining status of these newcomers, he abruptly shoves the pistol into a holster and turns away, striding back to the Gas Station with Maldevious close behind.
"Come, come inside, have a seat! There is not much in the place, but help yourselves! ...Make youself useful, Jakov! Pour them some drinks. No, they aren't agents of the Bottle Lord, he's not followed us this far! Pull yourself together. Have some vodka yourself, calm your nerves. Yes, you boys have picked a bad time to travel through the countryside. As lovely as it is this time of year, that just means all the tourists flock here from Mesopotamia, with their onion-scented cameras and their terribly noisy amusements. Such a racket! I tell you, you see one rocket-propelled grenade launcher and you've seen them all. Oh shush you, Jakov! Martha isn't even here, and I'd still say it if she was! Pfah, you and your taste in women, honestly..."

The man seems to be talking to himself, though he gestures in annoyance to the pistol holstered at his belt. After a moment rummaging around behind the ruined counter he pulls forth a cracked plastic bucket, filthy with grime and filled with dirt and rubble, placing it on the counter and carefully setting the pistol beside it before speaking to his 'guests', waving them over.
"Come, come! Have a drink, you must all be thirsty. You can tell us just what you four brothers are doing out here, Jakov will entertain you with tales of our adventures, and then we shall take the carriage to Mount Vaalderstat. That's where all the King Beet has his Court, you know, I went there as a lad! Magificient place, truly, the ladies all in their gowns, with gleaming necklages of cabbage stock! Why, even the Emperor Frog and Queen Toffeesplinter were there, and that means a truly prestigious gathering, you know. Oh, and the...

>Action: Show my 'guests' into the gas station, have Jakov pour them glasses of vodka whilst I take a look around for anything we'll need for our journey to Mount Vaalderstat. Be sure to pack a change of clothes, we must be looking our best to be presented to King Beet! Oh and some provisions would be nice, too, it is a long trip by carriage.
