Let yoink IN

Look around and remember what buildings and exits there are around. Because I can't remember where I can go from here.

Have everything mapped out (for you). Not many people go into making a whole world with history and everything

(also I just woke up)
>>explore a little (Inside! I said inside not outside)
>>Rest
>>This is a bit of a hard thing to do. You've pretty much been everywhere inside, except the infirmary and I don't really want to force anyone in there without express orders to do so because I assume their characters might think twice about doing so. There is that airfield past the garage that no one ever went to, but it's outside.

>>You're also not tired.
>>Also you're going to fix the jeep.

Tiruin hands you a load of supplies and his multi-tool.
"I'll need this back when you finish, the rest, you keep." he says before wandering off toward the barracks.
You shrug and start working on the engine. This insta-steel works great for patching the holes, and the plastic tubing is a fine substitute for the original lines. Maldevious says something, but you ignore it. After a few minutes of work and a few more of waiting for the insta-steel  to set, you take a seat in the jeep and turn the ignition. It grumbles for a moment then turns over and roars to life. Now we're cooking with gas. You turn it off to save said gas you are now cooking with.

Spoiler: NG (click to show/hide)

> Head to the kitchen, stock up on some meals and water, assuming there are some empty containers available over there.

> Remove Chemical Suit, and go back to where everyone is (the jeep). From there, talk to Tiruin about leaving the barracks and journeying further down The Long Road.

"Hey Tiruin, we've been assaulted by raiders here, do you think it's time to go and set up camp elsewhere? I mean, after you fix the jeep of course. Would be a hassle to walk down the road with only our legs as a means of transportation."

> If he (and others) agrees, bring most of the kitchen consumables and beverages over to the jeep.

> Check status (thirst, hunger, sleep).

((Having some kind of map, even if it isn't showed immediately (because the rooms are unexplored) is nice, because we can have an idea what a room looks like, stuff in it, etc.))
You head to the kitchen and start gathering up supplies. You fill a gallon container with water from one of the large containers and grab a few of the 3-MRE's.
>>Added to inventory
>Gallon jug (water) (4kg)
>3-MRE (3) (2 kg)

Supplies in hand you wriggle out of your chem suit and head back to the jeep. Tiruin and drago are still standing around there. You wave to Tiruin as you join them.

"Hey Tiruin, we've been assaulted by raiders here, do you think it's time to go and set up camp elsewhere? I mean, after you fix the jeep of course. Would be a hassle to walk down the road with only our legs as a means of transportation."

Tiruin nods  and scratches his head before speaking. "Aye, my friend. The attack force is only three people and no doubt I'd expect more, especially when their strike force hasn't returned. They may be scouts, or just random throwaways, I am unsure. Maybe you could help drago or Maldevious on the jeep. I'll tend to my patient to get some answers, hoping I know my lingo correct."

He heads for the barracks and you follow, continuing on to the kitchen. It takes a few trips but you carry 5 of the 10-gallon containers to the jeep, along with the rest of the 3-MRE's (16).

>You are feeling fine. (I'll let everyone know if they start feeling hungry or thirsty or tired. If you're on auto I'll make sure you eat, drink and sleep if you need it and you can.)

> If time has passed, check snares.

> Look for some sort of non-bullet weapon (i.e. bow and arrow) for hunting

"So, I guess I'm the only one with an opinion on where we're going. Well then, we should take the service road. I think we should get out of here before night falls. Besides, we have the vaccines we came for."

> Try and help get the Jeep repaired. If it can't get fixed, help where needed

> Eat or drink if needed

((Few small suggestions: could you have us eat or drink when we need to, unless we don't have any food or water or we specifically say we don't want to? That seems like it'd save some time for everyone involved. Also, some background info: how far away from our home are we? I know it's a long road, but how far are we talking? A day's journey? A week? A month? That'd help with RP and just having an idea of how far we have to go. Good game so far, enjoying it quite a bit))

>About an hour and a half has passed, probably not long enough to catch anything (besides Drago).

You come to the conclusion that having a weapon that doesn't rely on bullets would be quite helpful. You don't remember seeing such a thing but it might be possible to make one...You make a mental note to talk to tiruin or Drago about it, they're crafty lads. There was a combat knife in the armory as well...though hunting rabbit with a combat knife strikes you as a bit silly.

"So, I guess I'm the only one with an opinion on where we're going. Well then, we should take the service road. I think we should get out of here before night falls. Besides, we have the vaccines we came for." You say before turning back to the jeep to find that Tiruin is gone and drago doesn't seem to be paying attention. You lean in and see he's already at work repairing the engine. You lean against the driver's side door and watch him work for a while before asking "Need any help with that?" He shakes his head absentmindedly and keeps working. You nod to no one in particular and stuff your hands in your pockets.

((You remember that it took several days, probably almost a week, to drive from the farming enclave to here, and that was a straight drive, only stopping occasionally for sleep. Of course, you had a bunch of jerry cans of fuel back then...))

Auto: Still On (Requesting updated inv.)

>Vote IN for Yoink!

>Fill my canteen while getting two tins of the canned food (leaving 10 left)

>Stride back to the barracks to tend with my 'patient'.

>Respond to New Guy

"Aye, my friend. The attack force is only three people and no doubt I'd expect more, especially when their strike force hasn't returned. They may be scouts, or just random throwaways, I am unsure. Maybe you could help drago or Maldevious on the jeep. I'll tend to my patient to get some answers, hoping I know my lingo correct."

>Nonchalantly greet the one called drago with a nod and smile, hand him:
    Bundle of wire (5)
    Plastic tubing (2) (1kg)
    Air filter (1) (1kg)
    Insta-steel tube (half full)

and the Multi-tool (.5kg) "I'll need this back when you finish, the rest, you keep."

requesting him to fix up that jeep, given his assumed knowledge on both driving and mechanics.

>About that patient, calm him down saying that our 'scuffle' yesterday was about self-defense. They fired first, and obviously we had to return fire. No harm done there.

Then affirm my action, by telling to his face that I am patching him up, not for the reason of interrogation but because I am a doctor. Give him the choice of a quick death by my pistol if he agrees, but try to respond kindly.

If he gives in, ask him why they attacked us and why they couldn't just work together in their goal. Introduce myself, and ask his name too. Share with him some water and one tin of canned food to show him I mean it (and I do).

((Good job on everything piecewise! But a certain updated character sheet with major updates (pertaining to everyone in an update) would be wise. Or a request that we keep track of our own score, I don't mind  :))))
You gather up two cans of food from the jeep and refill your canteen from the supply of water there.

New Guy wanders into view, waving as he walks over to you.

"Hey Tiruin, we've been assaulted by raiders here, do you think it's time to go and set up camp elsewhere? I mean, after you fix the jeep of course. Would be a hassle to walk down the road with only our legs as a means of transportation."

You nod.

Before leaving you hand a few supplies to Drago, as well as your multi-tool, with assurances that you'll get it back. You return to the barracks and check on your patient. He's quieted down somewhat, but is still giving you a look that could curdle milk. You try to explain the situation to him, but he doesn't seem to understand a word of it, and you can't understand a thing he says either. You're gonna need a better interpreter if you want this to go anywhere.

((I've been keeping up with the inventory and posting it whenever it seems necessary (picking up heavy things for example) but beyond that there really haven't been major changes to anything. No skills advanced (yet) and no one managed to get themselves shot or otherwise debuffed. Keeping track of things yourselves does help me, since I can just look on your posts, but it's not vital, I keep records of all of it.))

Let yoink IN

Look around and remember what buildings and exits there are around. Because I can't remember where I can go from here.
>>Not really surprising, your character does have 0 brains. He should probably get lost in the bathroom. Anyways, I posted those maps at the top of the page. You're technically in the barracks (The path from the barracks to the front of the base and the garage is a little abstract at the moment.) so look at that map to figure out where you want to go. You can basically go anywhere from the barracks though. The major exits are to the front of the base, to the garage, to the courtyard and to the armory.

Add
Bundle of wire (5) and Air Filter (1kg) to your current inventory and you're good.

>>Looks like Yoinks is in, so just have to wait for him to send me a sheet. Not sure where you guys will find him...I have an idea of a place but if all else fails I guess you can just find him by the side of the road. It's safe to pick up hitchhikers in a barren, post war hellscape right?

>>In related news, I'll try to make maps for all the areas you enter. They may not be great by any means, but hopefully they'll be informative.

> Ask Tiruiun and/or Drago to fashion some kind of bow and arrow.

You ask drago to give you a hand in creating a bow and some arrows to hunt with. He waves his hand in an obviously distracted manner and says "sure just bring me a stick and a knife, il be in armory" before walking off. You shrug and decide to make yourself useful for the time being. You head back to the barracks and get the crates of vaccine, loading them into the jeep. You head out into the field and check your traps. Nothing. You shrug and walk back to the jeep, taking a seat on the hood and thinking about what else you could do. After a few minutes new guy walks over.

"How is it?" he asks, jerking his head at the jeep.

"Works."

"How much fuel we have?"

You shrug. "We used up all the jerry cans we brought to get here. At best we got a full tank, maybe less."

((And I think I need to inquire about the weight of these two items: Shockstop and Surgical Tools, if they are weighted at all.))
You head to the barracks and come upon tiruin and the raider, apparently locked in a staring contest. You dig through your stuff and find the jar of black pills. You fish one out and hand it to tiruin.
"Would ya mind testing what that is on this guy?"
Tiruin nods without looking away. You shrug and head back out to the garage front of the base to ask drago if he needs help. When you arrive the only one around is maldevious, sitting on the hood of the jeep.
"How is it?" You ask, jerking your head at the jeep.

"Works."

"How much fuel we have?"

Maldevious shrugs. "We used up all the jerry cans we brought to get here. At best we got a full tank, maybe less."

>>The Shockstop and tools count as weighing nothing. I'm trying to stick to whole numbers instead of drowning us all in decimals.

(assuming he asked me)
>>"sure just bring me a stick and a knife, il be in armory"
>>go to armory
>>get the wires and the scrap metal and put it in an open area

Maldevious asks you to make him a bow and arrow. Why in the world would he want that? He has guns! Oh well.
"Sure, just bring me a stick and a knife, I'll be in armory." you tell him as you walk away. You head for the armory and gather up the wires and scrap metal.

>>That last part confuses me. When you say "Open area" do you just mean dump them in a clear room or in an open area in the jeep or what? Because they're already laying in an open area.

You duck out into the hall and, using the welder, weld the metal bits into a long, flattened rod.
>>What are you going to sharpen it with? You'll need a whetstone, grind wheel or a few rocks and a good survival skill to sharpen that metal up.

Though it will be relatively more fragile because of it's hodge podge make up.

>My but that looks...practical.

You head out to the front of the base and into the fields beyond, searching for just the right rocks. It takes you a while to find them but you eventually manage to find a large flat stone and smaller, more flaky one. You carry them back to the front of the base and use the large rock to crush the smaller one into a fine powder. You mix the powder and some water and spread the slurry onto the large stone and then use the resulting gritty surface to begin sharpening. After several minutes of work you test the edge...and it's gotten blunter then what you began with. That takes some serious lack of skill. [failed the survival roll in the worst possible way. You can try again, but with your relatively low skill, its gonna be pretty hard.]
