On Goblin Sieges
« on: March 13, 2012, 10:11:09 am »

Ok, so i'm being sieged yet again, and maybe setting up shop right behind a goblin fortress wasn't the best idea on my part, but my defenses worked well (Sorta). I have about 50 full cage traps (When an entire siege brings mounts those things fill up fast.) and my 4 weapon traps are jammed (I think, idk how to tell, but goblin bits have stopped flying everywhere), but the real issues is, the survivors wont move! They're just sitting there on top of their caged buddies and mounts (Probably still trying to ride them through the cage). How can i get these buggers to run into my fort and die in my second wave of traps?

Try sending some civilians out to pick up the cages. Once they get to the door theyll get scared and run back and the goblins should follow (unless theyre still mounted because ive noticed mounted goblins flee from civilians)

Open the some doors.
Gobloons have a telepathic link to your doors, and the moment they open they'll come-a-runnin'

I sent out animals (set a meeting area out there and they eventually wandered out) and nothing happened. My doors were o[en the whole time, unlocked and waiting to be taken by the invaders, but they just sat there after the initial trap wave.

I'm pretty sure they are trying to follow their dead leader. Dispatch the milita/bait animals to lure them into the second trap corridor.

Also, use [t] to check the traps if they are stuck.

If i have wooden cages in cage traps, and somehow those got washed over with lava, would they be destroyed? Either before or after they're triggered? Because this seige has 173 units and lava looks like its going to be my only option...

Oh yes. The traps themselves will be destroyed as well unless all components are made of a magma-safe material. Wood is definitely not one of them.
