I've heard of lazy people that use the Lazy Newb Pack, but it's the first time I've ever seen someone lazy enough not to GOOGLE Lazy Newb Pack.

It's treated as completely normal because this is Dwarf Fortress.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with a wall of flames, only to later realize that you're surrounded by a wall of flames.
There's nothing that can't be solved by hurling fifteen roc birds at it.

It's not updated yet. But there are instructions for manually updating game version in LNP topic.

Odd, if I go over to the good Old LNP topic in the modding section, it says it's been updated for version 34.05 IN THE TITLE... and I know this o be true because I just downloaded it. :| Seriously, there's lazy, but this is down right silly, it's literally 2 clicks to check.

At least you own up to being incompetent.

I can't find it right now, but I'd seen a small comic in XCKD style that described "Teach your child's first word to be 'Google' then teach their second word 'It'.  You have now taught your child how to obtain any knowledge they could want."

In retrospect, this post was shockingly lazy. 'Sloth', the fourth deadly sin. I should repent

I'd have thought that anyone who would go through the arduous task of learning this game wouldn't really be the lazy type :p

Why? The dwarves are the ones doing all the work, right? ;)

But then we'll end up totally dependent on Google for everything...
It is a conspiracy! <|:-S

...but to get back to the OP's topic, it's incredibly easy to have LNP use the latest version of DF: Unpack the latest version under /LNP/Dwarf Fortress <version number> and remove or rename the old version(s) of DF.
Voilá, instant upgrade.

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

won't that just make LNP try to run incompatible programs and overwrite your ini files with outdated versions?
